Token aggro can pull off some dumb shit, especially with pic related. One good swing and you've ramped hard enough to do whatever the hell you want.

Not really. While Sidereal martial arts are still a separate thing, other martial arts are not split by Celestial and Terrestrial, at least in terms of being able to learn and make use of that martial art. Every martial art that isn't Sidereal is open to every supernatural being, but Celestials (especially Solars and Sidereals) get bonuses for the charms.

We only have proper rules for Solar PCs, but so far there are two keywords that apply to certain martial arts charms that bring across the mechanical differences between the Exalt types. You can find these on page 427.

Terrestrial means that a charm is less powerful when a Dragonblood uses it. It mentions that the Immaculate Masters can bypass this limit for certain charms, which probably just means that a Fire Aspect using Fire Dragon Style will get the full benefit of that specific style.

Master means that only a master (i.e. a Solar or Sidereal) gets the full benefit of that charm. There is no reference in the Solar book to mechanics that cannot be used by Solars. Make of that what you will.

The devs have said that the Immaculate MAs will not have the Master keyword on any of their charms.

Mortals can learn MAs of any sort with the Martial Arts merit, but this only gives them the weapon proficiencies of that style (i.e. using a single skill to fight unarmed and with knives if using Ebon Shadow Style). Mortals cannot learn charms. Charms require essence use and mortals cannot use essence. If a mortal gains the ability to use essence, they are no longer a mortal. That's how 3e defines it.

imho vallejo is the way to go

for many years I used GW paints like a pleb, which come in shitty bottles, dry out too fast, and are far too expensive

then I tried vallejo and it was amazing, the bottles are great and allow you to put just the right amount of paint down, shit basically never dries, and the price point is right

will you be able to get exactly the same colors as the GW ones without mixing? no, but who cares

I like the coverage and general feel of Vallejo. They water down okay, go on smooth.

In comparison I made the mistake of buying some Army Painter Barbarian Flesh color and a couple of others. Stuff is awful. Streaks, doesn't go on right, real goopy crap.

No experience with GW/Citadel since around 1988-89. They might have changed their stuff in the years since then. Inks were a new thing back then. Call them washes now?

This definitely couldn't have been asked in the 40k general. It's usually painted on to their armour but there are a couple descriptions of actual lightning crackling over them so that has happened at least once. The latter is definitely not the norm.

Its probably both, its painted and they have modified their armor so that it actually has lighting crackling on it.

Also it might be Warp/Daemonic thing that makes it "alive". Depends on the author.

I like to think that it's usually painted but it's real on those more warped.

I've never had a character get possessed, oddly enough. Frenzy on one, Death Rage on another, but never out and out possessed.

I think it just stands out because this hobby is not exactly known for attracting the most physically fit players. So when one of them does happen to play a martial, it seems significant. Humans are pattern-finders, after all.

I'm not saying this never happens, but I don't think it's a significant driving force in people playing martials. I enjoy playing the occasional fighter/paladin/warlord and I ain't got no masculinity to be insecure 'bout.

Only when played by the DM.

They are always balanced.
For martials they are crutch not to lag so far behind.
For casters they are just cosmetic addition because the caster is already powerful even without them and the little extra makes no difference.

players always seem inclined to protect or avenge animal companions/avatars regardless of their practical function - death of an npc is whatever but go to the ends of the earth to save your dog or something

This is a very two-faced opinion. On one hand, having a low intelligence shouldn't cripple the choices the player has over PC, on the other it should be the player's job to roleplay the PC in relation to his skills and stats. You don't have to say the answer to the riddle just because you figured it out, especially since your character thinks differently from you.

I'm currently running a hard sci-fi campaign (in the vein of MGS and Mass Effect, if that makes sense) using M&M. The only contingency I made with my players was that all powers had to be tech-based and within the realm of reason.

Insofar it's worked out rather well, probably because it's really quite flexible. It might work for you, I dunno.
