Have some Frazetta for your troubles.
I don't know how that image ended up spoilered.

At least for Moorcock, might as well read Hawkmoon and Corum while you're at it.
Charles Stross has some good books.
So I'm planning on Fallen London/Sunless Sea game for my friends.
I'm using a modified and lite version of the Houses of the Blooded system, (it's okay if that means noting to you, but ask if curious).
I want to try out my idea for character creation with you guys before I do it for real. If interested please pick 3 from the following.
Cardinal, Menance, Ambition, Gods, Elements.
Ambition
>>51032694
3 out of the five for the first bit, so two more.
but okay, for Ambition, now pick
Nemesis, Enimga, Desire, Legend.
the slowroll already feels boring, and elements was always weak.
New plan:
From each category choose one
Cardinal: North, South, East, West.
Menace: Wound, Nightmare, Suspicion, Scandal
Ambition: Nemesis, Enigma, Desire, Legend
Gods: Salt, Stone, Storm
Games Workshop can never be forgiven for forsaking the best chapter.

The hell are you high on? You're about to be included in a big upcoming event you'll get shit for sure.
>>51032858
They're not even the stars of the show. They're Celestine's tagalong manwhores. Nevermind being expendable dogs of the Inquisition.
>>51032938
What?! Since when do the Templars ever work for the Inquisition they'd sooner stab them into chunky fucking salsa than do what they say!
So, we talk about card games a lot, and we inevitably discuss the issues that pop up in the design of each game, whether it's power creep, broken mechanics, Pay to Win, or whatever else may be the issue. With that in mind, let's conceptualize a game that satisfies our collective autism.
>>51026015
I've always taken issue with Rarity = Power. In terms of business sense it works. Rare cards means more cost, but in an ideal game system, the focus would be less on actually having access to the cards, and more on using them.
If I did have to institute a system, it would be based on tiers of cards. Your common rarity woul let you have up to six copies in a deck, with your most rare only allowing one copy.
>>51026081
One method maybe be tying power to rarity only in regards to the card type. Say, spells are all common/uncommon, while the one-of deck mainstay base/avatar/whatever are uncommon and rare. You only need one so fuck it.
Alternatively, rarity could directly reflect complexity, not power. A powerful but simple card would be common, while the card with multiple abilities would be rarer. Hard to balance maybe, but whatever.
The main problem with removing rarity like that is that the stores will no longer be able to make a profit. This would work really well for an online medium, but otherwise stores won't have the ability to sell $20 cards or $300 cards.
Alternative problem, players think rarity=power and drifting too far from that will confuse and alienate.
>>51026015
Regarding Power Creep: This one has been solved already hasn't it? Just introduce formats. aka Type 1 & 2 in MtG which was copied by most other cards games.
Broken Mechanics - easy. bans. Or if digital, nefs.
I don't know what else there is to discuss. Just make a good game that isn't a fuckin MtG ripoff and you'll have my support.
>guy refuses to play archers or bards because he sucks at archery and doesn't know how to play music
Do any of your players have self-imposed restrictions as insane as this?
I do 120 pushups a day, unless I feel like alternating them with palms-out chinups.
Go cry about it on [OTHER WEBSITE], fatty.
>>51024140
I know this one guy who can shoot lightning out of his hand but he won't even play Wizards cause he says magic is for queers. Is there no helping these people?
>>51024140
I refuse to play doctors, because I know shit about medicine and human anatomy. I refuse to play hackers, because the only thing I do on computers is shitposting.
And so on.
Would a Space Marine chapter ever defect to the Tau Empire? What would happen if they did? What would they be like before and after defecting?
>>51019362
>Would a Space Marine chapter ever defect
No, not really. All the disloyal assholes already fucked off. Besides that, the only force in the galaxy strong enough to sway marines from the Big E is Chaos.
They have no real incentive to join the Tau for any reason.
>>51019362
Defect? Without saying absolutely not, very very unlikely. Space Marines of all stripes don't really care for xeno. As for what would happen if that extremely unlikely situation happened, a bunch of pissed of Marine chapters and Inquisition would probably make short work of them in righteous fury. What would they be like? Dead soon, but they probably wouldn't change much, though they'd have to find a replacement for their weapons they couldn't manufacture ammunition for.
And what possible incentive could there be in defecting to those blue-skinned pussies anyway?
>>51019376
This, more-or-less.
Normal humans defect because of the (xenos lie of) better treatment but Marines either are treated well or (ImpFists) like it rough and dirty already.
No leverage.
it's about goddamn time edition

but that's cg.

There's several additional videos, one of which was shot on a phone.
Looks realistic enough, other than the speed of the arms. What makes you think it's CG?

The obviously fake textures and greenscreen style appearance.
What was the last truly terrifying situation your party found themselves in? Was the atmosphere right? How did the DM handle the horror elements and, most importantly, how did your party survive/die?
Started CoC anew with my mates. We`d played just a couple of games few years ago. Made new characters and all forthis time.
>DM gives the intro and off we go to investigate murders and arsons that are being blamed on indians living in the near by reservate
>After talking to the police and visiting the morgue we head to one of the burnt houses.
>There is an entire herd of mutilated livestock
>After searching (a lot) we find tracks
>DM gives a note that has a drawing of a track that looks to me like it belongs to a bear
>We`ve spent most of daylight in our activities thus far so I decide to make a torch (which I fumled after pushinng by the way, though DM let us have it)
>then we proceeded to follow the tracks into forest
>It gets dark and we keep going
>Then the tracks just stop suddenly and as we look around there are trees everywhere that have been scraped by something with huge claws
>Then the DM gives me a spot hidden roll
>I fail
>He tells that I cant find anything weird except the markings
>He does say though that it feels like there is something watching us, something that feels in the back of the head
I actually felt a bit creeped at that point. DM handled the mood and describing of situation quite nice. I`d have to continue to get to survive bit

Do go on
We played a Kult one-shot and one of the party members literally had us take a bus ride to Hell, then attracted the attention of flesh-eating beasts by shooting wildly in the air once in Hell. He got eaten alive.
The other party member was disemboweled and tortured by a Hell goon, one of the antagonists that we were looking for.
I accidentally got a fatal injury by falling while getting out of the bus (thanks, Kult), and bled out after getting lost in Hell.

Spotted the Bosmer.
Hey /tg/, I need your help.
I'm running a session on Saturday where the party will encounter an enemy that attacks via a deadly quiz show. I already have about 15 questions, but I need more.
Some of the questions I currently have:
Q1: What is the capital of Belarus?
A1: Minsk
Q2: what is the air speed velocity of an unladen European swallow?
A2: 11 meters per second
Q3: How long did the Hundred Years' War last?
A3: 116 yrs 1337 to 1453
Q4: What was King George VI's first name?
A4: Albert
>>51039161
Q4: Is OP a fag?
A4: Yes.
>>51039173
You know, I actually might use that...
>>51039161
How smart are your players and what subjects are they in to?
Should adventurers get experience points for poking something dangerous with a stick?
>Be a level 0 peasant
>Poke a Tarrasque with a stick
>Gain 16 levels
>>51038696
Depends on the reaction.
>>51038696
How long is the stick?
So I was doing a sci-fi campaign and players of course wanted to play robots
The trouble is letting one player play a self-aware tank makes combat balance ridiculous.
Anyway how's this for a solution, all self-aware robots are 'Asimov non-compliant', they're simply unable to harm humans at all. Even in self defence.
They'll still stronger tougher and faster than humans however, as well as being less prone to anger or fear making them popular for the more respectable security and law enforcement agencies.
They also have no programming restriction on wrecking other robots sentience or otherwise.
Gameplay why is it means robot players are Kung Fu Monk meet shields. They still get to do superhuman stuff, as well as 'drone mop up' but they can't pick up a gun and mow people down.
that's not what non-compliant means
>>51037676
Crap AutoCorrect.
Anyway do you think that keeps robots...well robots will still be in fun and playable?
>>51037657
Selectively omit details from your sensors or selectively deactivate them so you do not detect humans. You can now move and act with impunity.
After all, the laws preventing you from harming humans require you to detect them first.
Don't try to justify it. Your cybercores hold your digital spirits as you defeat Dr. Reaver's cyber gorillas to prevent him from reaching the Data Star.
I know in his head he meant that he tells/writes stories. But I'm keeping this to throw on the "John Wick is an asshole" pile.
>touching other people's food
>watching anime and getting paid for it
>making little boys and girls do things they don't like
>elaborately telling people how stupid they are
>>51037107
Why the hate for Mr. Wick? The only work of his I know well is 7th sea, and that seemed alright.
>>51039973
>he doesn't know about Play Dirty
OOOOOOH BOOOOOY
