What settings have centaurs as a prominent race?
What games do centaurs right? And I mean in rules and mechanics.
I don't recall any that start off with any kind of Taur except for that sci-fi furry RPG.
Besides, what type of culture and settings stuff would they offer players to pick them?
This thread will end inhorse pussy
Setting: Animorphs
Game: Make a game in the Animorphs setting.
How does it effect a game if poison becomes trivial to acquire?
>>51258343
>Letting dragons, undead, demons, constructs, and the other various shit adventurers fight on a daily basis be affected by a petty 150gp poison.
Wow, it's almost like you don't realize the DM can say no to that shit, or make it more expensive, or make enemies immune, or various other ways to reign it in. Sorry this isn't Pokemon where you can Spam Toxic>Protect>Recovery Move to beat legendary creatures.
>>51258343
>Such mortal drugs I have, but Mantua's law. Is death to any he that utters them.
Go ahead and buy that poison anon and have fun dealing with the consiquenses
>>51258543
So you're saying that a GM would have a vested interest in not allowing cheap (in the literal and figurative sense) access to poison in fights against demons, dragons, and so on. That's actually pretty valid, and I have to agree with you in that most GMs would rather not have poison become a major factor in combat.
But I'm saying, what if some crazy GM does? How does the game change if any asshole can dose their weapons with contact poison at any time?also,
>Toxic on a pokemon with a very low capture rate
The goal is to take the legendary *alive.*
What are the bounds of what Paladin can do to evil without """"falling""""? Should paladin see all evil the same, thus smited the same: Risen evil lich that wants to turn everyone undead compare to evil sorceress that practices forbidden(by paladin standards) magic
>>51254854
Depends on the Paladin Order, God Worshiped, andsetting.
>>51254863
But what can a good paladin order/God let paladin do without questioning his morality
>>51254922
A clean death in honorable combat is ok.
Cold blooded murder of the evil in question or their minions/apprentices/whatever you want to call them is ok but the pally should feel bad about having to do it.
Tricking them is ok.
Torture and manipulation (the extended emotional kind(unless its something that is generally funny, not just funny to a select group of sociopaths)) is not ok.
I like playing them but I have run into a few DMs that do not allow them in their games. And I have seen a lot of hate for them here as well, with a few also saying they are not allowed in their games either.
So what is wrong with a druid? Why do DMs ban them?
Ask the GMs banning them.
If I had to guess though it'd be because people think druid means zophile.
>>51253046
Because furfags ruin everything
What system? In 3.5, Druids basically get to do everything other classes do at the same time at no cost. They're not the absolute most broken class at high optimization levels, but they're probably the most idiot-proof, and the most likely to break the game by accident.
Other systems may or may not have other problems, so you should specify.

Tell me, has anyone played a 1920 era gangster campaign?
My GM has a box set of "Gangbusters" which is basically that setting except you play the cops. Never played it.

No, but I've played a 1930s pulp campaign set in Warlords-era China. It was actually surprisingly fun

General Character Art Thread

Previous edition: Dark-skinned Character Art >>>51244531
I need apprentices (magically obvious or not) and/or scholars. Scholars can be serious, bumbling, or just cutely nerdy.
My bard has a brownish skin tone, light but still notably dark (think Hispanic), short curly black hair that's long enough to cover the ears. He wears purple frilly dress clothes because bard. It'd be cool if you could draw this for me as my DM prefers to have a reference to our characters.

What are the obstacles in making giant robot combat practical besides the square-cube law? Assuming roughly modern or slightly beyond modern technology.

Lack of imagination and not enough fun robots cartoons to watch.

They'd be in the same position as the Air Force's top planes: way too expensive to actually field because some fuckface with a cheap RPG could wreck a multi-billion dollar machine.
>>51250171
Training a pilot for it, assuming it has a full range of 3d motion. Thats not even getting into how you'd actually control it.
I'm in the market for a good GMing hat, and would like to know what you fine fellows think on the matter. I was thinking of going with a fez, as it seems very traditional, but I also have an eye for those wide brimmed wizard's hats as well. Would you recommend anything else I should look for in particular?
You DO have a GMing hat, right?
How short is your hair
Can you wear a skullcap without looking like you're heading to your bar mitzvah
I wear a tricorn but that's beside the point
>>51250165
Just as long as you also have a small vest and periodically bang together cymbals
>>51250222
Unfortunately I have fairly thick hair. I don't keep it overly long, but skullcaps don't fit quite right.
What would be a good system to run an over the top super hero game, sort of like pic related. Also bonus if its easy to learn as I we have to new players in the group

I don't think that's what "partisan" is supposed to mean.
>>51207672
I think he meant partition.

what
what the fuck does partisan mean as a verb
You don't normally think about it when you imagine unbalanced PC races, but holy shit, are the motherfucking pixies one of the scariest feasible options in the book or am I missing something here? Like, for a character? I'd pick that shithead over a minotaur any day of the week.
Hell, looking at them now in the Monster Manual, how come they haven't just taken over all the elf forests? This is some scary shit right there, and it masquerades as a harmless joke monster.
>>51256642
>Pixies are overpowered
In other news: electricity, newfangled invention or witchcraft?
>Hell, looking at them now in the Monster Manual, how come they haven't just taken over all the elf forests?
Same reason the dragons didn't.

For the purpose of filling out the background of a game I plan to run...
What would have to change about the events of the American Civil War that would result, by the year 1876, in the following:
1) an independent Confederate States of America?
2) the creation and maintenance of the independent Mormon nation of Deseret?
The general idea is that the two Americas are so preoccupied with one-another that the Mormons remain unmolested long enough to successfully create their nation, thereby allowing for a lot of political intrigue and a much wilder Wild West.
>>51250253
For the CSA being independent I would say recognition from France and the UK and other European states, in particular perhaps other states that would still have slavery at that time like the Empire of Brazil or Spain, but British recognition as a major trading partner would mean the most, this could also mean perhaps an alliance that the USA wouldn't want to risk further conflict with, but European recognition in that time frame = legitimacy.
As for Mormon state, no clue.
>>51250253
>The general idea is that the two Americas are so preoccupied with one-another that the Mormons remain unmolested long enough to successfully create their nation, thereby allowing for a lot of political intrigue and a much wilder Wild West.
What's preventing the rail barons from finishing the trans-continental railroad system?
>>51250253
Hard to say, you'd probably need material aid from a great power in Europe or two, which follows with a weaker push in the south, McClellan winning the 1864 election, and a truce being arranged. Bear in mind, I don't think such a peace would last, and 1876 would be right about the right time for Civil War Round 2; given that the Union is still considerably stronger than the confederacy and is not likely to give up whatever territory they've occupied at date of the peace treaty.
>>51250478
Presumably ongoing warfare between the CSA and whatever the Union is calling itself.
