Need some advice.
I shoot for fun, and have done so for many years.
I currently have a Nikon D5100, with a cheap 50-200 mm, and 35mm prime.
I HATE how it shoots in low light...
Should I blow money on a full frame DSLR? I know all about manual controls, but I feel I have more to learn with a full frame.
Or should I just get a nice piece of glass (lens) instead?
What exactly bothers you in low light? Slow AF or ISO noise? If the latter I suggest you invest in a flash. The 35mm (50mm FOV equivalent) is already a nice piece of glass that probably covers a lot of situations.
>>2919408
My camera does no handle high ISO well...it is grainy and detail is lost. I don't like shooting with flash, typically. I don't do portraits.
r8 this photo I took when I was 14

The subject is interesting but I dislike the picture. A lot of wasted potential
Please explain
I thought this was a strip of bacon soaring through the air, albeit on a mundane background. The leaf has nice texture but, it's still not bacon.
Is there a formula for calculating exposure on Solargraphy? I have seen suggestions of 1 to 180 days.
Pic Related, my first Solargraphy pinhole camera.

cool. thanks for reminding me of that. ill mount a solargraphy cam with a sheet of agfa litex.
>>2918623

I've got a sheet of Shanghai 4x5 100iso film in mine. Seems like most people are using paper, which is going to be way slower.
>>2918627
>paper
never thought of that. i have a friend who was tons of photopaper. will try both.
whats the recommended amount of time for this? a couple of months? a whole year?

How does the M mount compare to other mirrorless systems? Do you think it was designed with the idea of eventually creating a FF mirrorless ecosystem (is it even FF compatible?? Or will Canon have to make a new mount if they want to offer a real professional mirrorless option?
>>2918305
i have the m.
best camera ever because of the 22mm f2 pancake.
the mount is slightly smaller than normal ef but they do still have space for a bigger sensor.
just how big that is.

Both of these pictures were taken with different phones, one of them clearly having a better colour balance. My question is; is this a problem with the camera's post processing (meaning it can be avoided by shooting raw) or is it a problem with the camera itself? Can the 950xl picture be made to look like the 1020?
>>2917733
You've identified one of the biggest differences in the pictures...how about instead of asking, you load them up in an image editing program and see if you can make them look the same?
You'll get an answer to your question, maybe even find some more important questions (e.g. just how important is white balance), and you'll get some practice in basic post processing that'll help deepen your understanding of the processes.
you're trying too hard
The bottom one was obviously taken at golden hour. You can see the rich golden light on the left side of the building. Just enjoy it. There's nothing wrong with either picture.
Film fags, how much would you pay to get an 8000 dpi, wet mounted scan of your film?
Note, we're talking about it being entirely untouched (with the exception of cropping frames). Someone just does the scan and gets you the resulting file(s)?
Please specify what country you're in, how much you'd pay per frame, and the size of the frame?
Would you pay a premium to be able to download these files?
I'm asking because I'm considering buying a drum scanner and just doing that from now on. I know I can undercut prices that are generally available, but I don't know how much of a market there is and how much I'd have to undercut to get a market.
>>2917426
Oh, and I have four years of experience working with drum scanners, so I know how to scan your film/maintain the equipment for optimal results.
>>2917426
If someone in the USA would do them with a one week turnaround for under $20 per 4x5 sheet I would be interested.
>>2917426

Yeah, it's autistic to expect someone to fucking both check the catalog to see if there are other live RPTs, and to know how to actually use the board before posting one.
