Hey I'm getting kinda good at this photoshit and I want to have your opinions on this Photoshit

jump off cliff next time nignog
>>2918369
I wanted to hate on you for being such a flog but this is a decent shot.
Why the horrid crop though? Should have left a lot more up top and a more on the left.
Looks like the tree is being squished by the crop.
I'll assume the trees in the background end and a higher crop would ruin the effect. Because if not, I don't know what you were going for
N...not bad, anon.
Were you going for some pseudo 256 color look?
Anyone here use film cameras still? Im new to it and hoping to get some advice on how to use this shit to get good shots.

How you plan to digitize your files is much more important than what film camera or film you use (and will probably be your biggest expense if you plan to digitize yourself).

>INTERIOR BROS
Seems to be a few /p/hriends shooting interiors, so I am curious to know if any of you also offers Floor Plans as a service??
I am struggling to find the most efficient way of doing these.. I am still measuring with my Leica Disto and using pencil and paper to create a sketch..
What are the best apps that I can connect my disto too via Bluetooth that will input the measurements to scale!??
Are you also offering 3D Plans?? What software do you use?
Thanks

> Leica Disto
Isn't the *only* reason to pay for that 10x+ overpriced device to get the Leica software?
So, use the Leica software...? I think at least for basic sketches, it kinda works.
>>2918338
10x overpriced? I just bought the entry D110 while it was on sale and got it for $100.. I had a bosch one before, it stopped working after a few months and chewed through batteries. I have had the Leica for many months now and it has not even lost 1 bar of power (so much better than the bosch in this respect).
The Leica sketch software is shit.
>>2918341
> I just bought the entry D110 while it was on sale and got it for $100
I will correct myself to 3x+ overpriced then?
You can subtract the value of the Leica App. Which is the feature you paid that much for.
Not saying the other devices have great apps - it's pretty much all still on regular computers.
Hey guys, been getting back into photography lately. Took some pictures over the last couple nights. I'm often out and about in the city at night so I figured I would bring my camera along. Would love some feedback.

Been playing around with some VSCO filters from their 07 film collection. The filter used is in the image title.

I think a lot of these long exposure shots are coming out fuzzy. I don't know if it's my lens or what. I'm using a high F stop. A side note is that I have been using a guerilla tripod, since they are compact enough to fit in a non photography bag. Sometimes I have to mount the tripod on a fence or some such thing which can be shakey.

How long are you going to keep lying to yourself that photography requires any artistic or superior knowledge? If even a blind guy can be a photographer.
Why does he bother taking the lens cap off?

But for you, what is the best reflex for beginner?
>do photography purely as a hobby, mostly nature and macro
>never do paid jobs, photos are just for my enjoyment
>have no 'formal training' as a photog.
>hate having people in my photos
>loathe taking portraits
>in-laws constantly insist I do portrait photography for/of them
>can't really say no because in-laws, you know how it is
>in-laws always want to do portraits outside at 5 PM when the setting sun either makes people squinty as hell or causes blown out sky highlights
>results always turn out mediocre as fuck
>feel shitty about it because they were relying on me to take nice photos of them and I failed
Does anyone else constantly get asked to take photos for other people just because people know you do photography?
Fuck, just because I have a camera doesn't mean I'm a substitute for a skilled photog. with the equipment to take proper portrait photos.
Also,
>in-law asked me to take photos at a family reunion of trays of baked goods so that she could provide the photos to the bakery, presumably so they could be used as advertising material
What, now I'm doing what should be a paid job for free? Doing a favor for in-laws is one thing, giving free shit to a business is entirely another.

Get better camera, lens, light or don't do it?
For business, ask to get paid from expenses.
Is there a difference in quality between a photo that was normally developed and then scanned and a photo that was just scanned straight from it's negative?
>>2917677
If scanned at the same DPI, the scan from the print is certainly going to be the larger file, while grain might be finer. Colors depend on the PP I'd say.
>>2917677
>normally developed and then scanned
you mean printed and then scanned, right?
on one hand, the enlarged print always loses quality from the negative. whether or not the loss is noticeable depends on how good your enlarger is, how good the paper is, and how skilled you are at printing
on the other hand, if you theoretically had a enlarged print that was just as quality as the negative, the print would scan much better simply due to the fact that its a larger size and thus the scanner can easily pick up more information, then you can just resize the resulting scan back down to normal dimensions
>>2917761
Ok cool. And also, scanning it digitally doesn't make it lose the "film look" does it? I doubt it, but i'm just wondering if you can say from experience.
I recently picked up my first DSLR, a Rebel t5, and I've been trying to take a stab at night sky photography, and haven't been getting any good results.
The only lenses I have are the kit lense, and a 50mm f1.8 (the latter is what I used for this project).
My settings were as followed:
>25 second exposure
>f2.8
>1600 iso
Why are all of my shots coming out blurry? I'm about as new to photography as possible, but I did a bit of reading on the subject, and followed it to the T.
As far as focus goes, it's on manual, and this is the clearest shot I could get.
Any suggestions as to how I can get better results?

You missed focus. You can tell because the stars are donuts, rather than pinpoints. The Canon 50 1.8 lacks a hard infinity stop for whatever reason, so you'll have to fidget with the focus manually until you get it.
>>2917399
You forgot to focus.
>>2917402
Alrighty, I tried messing with it, and was only able to get semi-clear shots with the focus all the way to the left, but I'll try some more experimentation.
And for down the road, would you be able to recommend a good wide angle lens that'd do well for night stuff?
A lifetime supply of cupcakes to the first person to identify the make and model of the camera in this picture.

leica c2 zoom 40-90mm
how is this camera? saw it for $50 at a camera store. I currently have a yashica t4. how does it compare?
>>2917330
Worse than your yashica. It's zoom vs. prime, IQ is very likely to be better at your current camera and despite the zoom range, I'd say the 35mm are pretty versatile.

I really like this board for his unfiltered rating on your photos, you hear what people really think, not some sugar-canned commenary made to not hurt your feelings (as it would happen in a non anonymous forum).
The problem is that there isn't too much movement on the board, do you guys know of any forums or pages that have this same kind of community?
