I'm looking to find equipment for video production.
already have 5D3 w/ RAW magic lantern
schatler ace tripod
24-70 tamron
70-200 IS II canon
50mm USM canon
Rode mic + boom pole kit
I shoot everything, concert videos to boring interview type shit to hipster artsy videos that make most of you cringe
I'm looking to find softbox kits, I need to have at least one setup for shooting.
good hotshoe cameras, some way to mount both an LED and a mic on a single hotshoe.
Biggest thing is what is a good gear option for keeping the shoot still - like a glidecam or a shoulder rig but something more portable, I was thinking maybe a monopod but that would get in the way a lot
I have nowhere else I'd really fucking ask this but you guys know your shit
Try the video general over here >>2910467 or the gear thread

your 4k iphone footage will look better.
Will we see E6 die in our lifetimes?
Colour slides are one of the few reasons I bought a 6x6.
Also post your slides
Is there even any other manufacturer besides Fuji? Which is trying to get out of the film biz entirely.
>>2917072
AGFA but they're shit.
>>2917068
There's wittner-chrome 200d, which is actually agfa rsx200 but it's only available in 35mm and smaller cine formats. It has a nice vintagey rendering, bit grainy.
Hi /p/, I need some advice with a Jupiter lens I got recently. The focus ring is completely stuck, apparently the old factory lube has solidified and glued the threads. Is there any way to soften it up or something? I can't get the ring to even budge no matter how hard I try pry at it.

Use rubbing alcohol or isopropanol.
Also check if there's a small mechanical problem you missed.
When I get impatient I sometimes use a (padded) wrench.
>>2916968
Tried spray solvent into the threads but to no avail. Guess I'll have to try sauna later, the heat might do the trick.
Try googling for a repair guide concerning soviet m39 lenses, i.e. industars and jupiters. There's a trick to softening the grease up just enough to permit disassembly, a solvent of some kind, which works if you're going to go swap out the fifties soviet fox grease and makes things worse if used for a stop-gap.
Hey /p/ I'm a high school student in a media arts class and I wanted to post some of my work for critique and just to see what others think of it.I'm extremely passionate with my work and would love to do this for the rest of my life and make a career out of it so it'd be good to hear some opinions.

Hey anon, what are some songs that are supposed to be funny or parody that wound up blowing your socks off, flooring you emotionally, or sending goose feathers down your spine?
This song, especially the climax (even with the programmed drums) is fucking colossal.

How did Kodak manage to sell that format? Even the 3x5's were shit.
>>2916853
It's the best-worst film format in the history of photography. You can upskirt, but with aesthetic. IQ can vary depending on how you're digitizing/printing it but as long as you get the shot than you're good to go.
Minolta Zoom SLR, "circa" 2012.

Hey /p/, I was wondering how I need to shoot in order to get the pastely colours like pic related?
I think it has to do with overexposing film but I'm not sure.
Here's some more pics like pic related:

What do you think of the Sony A7?
For this room I would use this lens:
Sigma 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM
I have an a7 mk ii and love it. got a 35mm 2.8 ziess and its great for any situation. ive had it since january and much prefer it over any dslr for the same price... Check my insta for shots- @amarbles. ill follow back if you drop a comment on my pic https://www.instagram.com/amarbles/
>>2916631
You need one hell of a room for a 120-400mm lens to be useful. Its minimum focus distance is probably like 10'.
>>2916673
I misspelled it, I wanted to write "For this mirrorless i would..." xD
I wanted to buy this lens for taking pictures to birds and wanted to know if it was a suitable lens for this mirrorless.
Is there a reason why DSLRs don't have adjustable sensors like medium and large format cameras?
>>2916471
What did he mean by this?
>>2916471
because they are toys made for plebs.
>>2916476
Tilting and panning the sensor to correct perspective and whatnot like you can do with the film in medium and large format cameras.
What methods/gear do you use to clean lenses?
I got some lenses, all pretty filthy, and I want to clean them up so they'll take good pictures.

The gear thread >>2915504 would have been a better place to post this
>>2916286
Distilled water and clean qtips. Anyone who tells you otherwise is retarded. Don't use chemicals on a lens and microfiber cloths never get cleaned after use.
>>2916286
If you ever need to lube up the focusing mechanism or other inside the lens, make sure to use only PFAE, PAO or silicone-based lubricant.
