So you would say the piece evokes a strong emotional reaction from you? Is it the image itself or the underlying message that bothers you so much?

>how are you editing your images??
I'm not using a shit program like Photomatix to make shit tonemapped train wrecks.
Shoot multiple exposures, blend in Photoshop by hand using the aid of luminosity masks and the mask-in-a-mask technique, where each exposure is a smart object able to be adjusted in camera raw.
>>2914534
>not knowing that Photomatix was the industry norm up until fairly recently.
Pay no attention to this anon. Many real estate photographers still use Photomatix because it can do batch processing, which is incredibly useful if you are a "run-n-gun" type who shoots HDR and you have a lot of photos to process. For example, say you're doing multiple jobs in a day--you can load up the batch process queue on your laptop after the first job and let the machine crunch the data while you're on your way to the next job. Major time saver.
Hey guys, I used to be really into photography and am looking to come back in. I want to shoot a lot of high quality fashion/portrait type stuff and was thinking a Nikon D810 with a Nikon AF-S 50mm f1.4G lense.
All up it comes to about $4k AUS.
What are your thoughts? is there a cheaper in that price range? should I pay a little bit more for a dramatic jump in quality etc
hello my friend, first of all /gear thread/ pls
and them your choices... the 50mm1.4g is a nice camera! But think about the 85mm for portraits and even a 70-200 2.8 later
>>2914452
50mm is a nice camera kek'd sorry, I'm kind high on pills right now.. that was funny
This is the Film General Thread, aka FGT.
>just posting in the FGT doesn't make you gay, unless you shoot CineStill
This is the place to post your film photos, without flushing them down the Recent Photo Toilet.
It's OK to ask about film gear in this thread.

>mfw getting slide film back for the first time from the lab
Holy shit, I've seen the light. Honestly, I almost cried, that's how fucking beautiful it was. It was only 6x6 even, I can't even imagine what that feeling must be if I ever shot LF. I would probably achieve transcendence
Going to repost in the new thread
Slides came out rather light and washed out after developing. The film was Provia 100 that expired in '98 and I shot it at 100, would pushing development 1-2 stops help any? I have one more roll I was thinking about trying it with. I know next time I should expose it as a lower speed film due to it's age but is this even worth trying or should I just fix them in lightroom? Pic related

It mainly just looks like your film is fucked bro.
Maybe try pulling your first developer and pushing your colour developer?
This is a very exciting time for me /p/.
I'm popping my development cherry. Attempting to develop my first roll of black and white film from start to finish. I have taken my pictures...I have my development tank and chemicals ready and I'm about to start. I'm nervous AF but I'm up for the challenge.
I will post pics of finished results.
I used a Pentax k1000, ilford 125 film, ilford ilfusol 3 developer and ilford fixer. I'm using a home made vinegar dilution stop bath aswell...here we go.
even though I'd already developed BW film in high school photography class, I too was equally excited to develop my first color negatives at home. I plan to move up to E-6 home developing eventually, I think that will be thrilling too.
OP here, just finished developing...film is currently being rinsed...I was wondering...is it possible to over-agitate the film? I was shaking it up pretty hard and constantly but I don't think it had too ill-effect on it...
>>2913897
It increases contrast as it develops more. Also if you create too many bubbles you may get a weird effect on the top edge of the film if the level of the liquid developer went too low

What is the point of using Adobe Lightroom to alter a photo to the point of being fake?
The photo on the right in pic related looks good but it's nothing like the original.
>>2913113
>stop liking things I don't like, waaaaah
Expression extends beyond merely being there and pointing a camera.
Whats the point in using oil paint to alter a canvas to the point of being fake?
People thinking they are "photographers" with smart phones and their Instagram accounts
>>2913074
really, really depends on where you're talking about and what level.
senior portraits and shooting weddings for less than a grand? Yes, absolutely.
Elsewhere? eh..
I'm talking about the people who go on Instagram taking shitty pictures and putting #photography
They're just as much of a photographer as you or I.
Did I do good?

Kek nah. It's the wrong Mju, senpai.
You just bought the way inferior Mju zoom, which is absolute crap in comparison to the Mju II.
The zoom isn't the good one. Sorry pham
Moved to Japan back a little over a month ago for the JET Programme and just recently got internet, so I have a huge dump incoming. I'd post in a recent shots thread but didn't want to take up the rest of an entire already-existing thread. Fair warning, there may be some tourist-y shots.
