I went to the J'ouvert and West Indies Parade in NYC and took some photos.

Wow, we didn't know about this 6 months ago....
>>2919599
Digitally faked bokeh looks like garbage.
Cell phone photography will never look good only scrape by.
>>2919599
Holy shit the bokeh looks gross too. and I''' never care anyway, since my sweet delicious bokerino is produced by glass only.
What lenses would you consider to be essential to every /p/leb?
>>2919566
THE ONE YOUR SHOOTING CALLS FOR, YOU FUCKING SIMPLETON.
>>2919566
Prolly a Zeiss 50mm f/0.7. You can't go wrong with it.
Fast normal-to-normal wide prime (50-35mm, f/2 or faster)
short tele (85 to 135 mm range)
Wide angle (24 or wider, doesn't have to be fast).
Those three lenses will cover 90% of the photographer you could want to do.
Ever thought about how pointless this all is?
>>2919150
These mongrels are disgusting to look at. Yay for "diversity".
tfw they get more traffic than you
The cringe in this thread is real. If 38 likes is enough to send you into a hateful shame spiral, give up now.
What computers do you use to edit?
Everyone keeps suggesting me to get a mac, but I've always avoided apple in general, and never fell for the memes and buzzwords filled marketing. But what do you use /p/? I might get something cheap first and then build my own pc. Last pc died and I've been spending a lot of money on my car, so.
Lenovo Thinkpad
i7
8GB
SSD + HDD(s)
Great for 16mp raw files, probably great for 24 or 36mp ones too.
A dedicated GPU might help with 7 layer 16 bit TIFF stacks, but it works fine with a little patience.
Built for $450. Runs like a dream.
AMD3.5GHz 6-Core CPU
8GB DDR3
120GB SSD
1TB 7200 RPM HDD
Radeon HD 7850 2GB GPU
I've got a 2015 mpb. Performance wise it works very well with Ps/Ai/Lr, never had any hiccups working with enormous files or large batches, but considering photo editing isn't that demanding I'm sure you can find cheaper options that does the job as well. If you're into vidya then just get a desktop. The screen works pretty well for most cases, but if you want to be super precise it's not as good as a proper grading monitor. I've graded a couple of short films on it, and it was a pretty frustrating process at times. The color gamut, black levels, viewing angle and resolution is great, but the contrast ratio is pretty high and it tends to crush the blacks a bit, so deep shadows can be a bit tricky work on. Trackpad, battery, keyboard and build quality is superb.
4.0 megapixels, baby.
U jelly?
Haha, look it's a troll! On 4chan! Wew lad ROFL. You got us good m8.

no. /p/ is a very small pool these days.
Just started using Lightroom and wondered if anyone could offer some tips / wisdom on how to make the most of it.
I've been trying to make a preset that can achieve the look in pic related but I don't really know where to begin.
Can anyone give me a hand?
Thanks in advance

anything below 25mm is pure shit. too much distortion.
it is nice not having to worry about focusing as much though.
unless your on a aspc. then 18 is p.good.
>>2915477
You think anything would look pure shit?
Im not sure on my favourite focal length.
I dunno what to go for on my A7R. Voigtlander 15mm looks appealing.
Who here Sigma 10-20mm? I just got it a few days ago but fell ill at the same time and haven't had a chance to go and use it, despite itching to do so.
Anyone have any experience using it?
These aren't supposed to compose a concise body of work or anything. They are just my favorite shots from 8 rolls I got back over the weekend. Criticism would be awesome. All shot on a Bronica SQ-A.
I'll start with the Provia shots.

bad thread already.
I am a co-founder of a motorsports apparel company and we are trying to improve our content. It is just the two of us in the company right now so we don't have the money to hire a professional or models.
How should I go about taking lifestyle pics of our products? I have a little /p/hoto experience and an A6000 with the 18-50 kit and a 55-200 sony zoom.
Any help is appreciated.

You have three options:
1. A chair to kick.
2. A noose.
3. A running car in a garage.
>>2922320
This stuff doesn't seem like the sort of thing that would ever really be good in a lifestyle shot.
I mean, personally, I'd expect to see these very cheap in a Kmart kids area but maybe that's just my part of the world.
In which case, sell them to Kmart and let them put a kid in it for their catalogue.
Otherwise, I guess you could take photos of people wearing them while they're sitting down having a drink watching a race.
I really can't picture how you'd do this with people in black shirts though without it looks g really cheap.
I don't mean to offend you and I'm no fashionista by any means. Just my thoughts.
If you do the same design in White or grey, I'd use that for shooting productshots
Find someone to model the clothing, friend, family friend, whatever, buy a 30mm/35mm f/1.8 for the A6000, find a nice background that's relevant to whatever you're selling, shoot portrait shots.
Clothing shot on it's own won't stand out enough, it needs to be on an actual person.
Also the 16-50 is complete shit and soft as anything unless stopped down to f/8 or so, which is kinda useless for anything other than landscape.

Digital camera with similar gear to pictured
If the camera automatically meters for the flash, shoot at f5.6-f8 in aperture priority and call it good.
You're going to have to invest quite a bit into a decent rig after housings and strobes. Unless your volume is huge you're not likely to recoup that investment anytime soon. It also doesn't help that waterproof compacts are cheap enough now that many tourists will bring a couple on their dives and take their own photos.

ALL gear is provided except my own divegear, dives are during sunny daytime in shallow water (noob divers, tropics so sunny 350 days / year)
many of these divers are < 10 dives so don't own gopros / if they do are probably more concerned with remembering to fuckin breathe
