Can anyone help me identify these mushrooms? Found them in a patch of dirt in my backyard area next to a stump. I live in Los Angeles. They look darker than they did yesterday, possibly because they're wet (it's been raining hard all morning), but I'm also pretty sure they're dead/rotting. They were either being crushed by or growing around a ladder that I moved, that I'm sure wasn't great for them.
The whole thing looks gross and decomposing, so I'm pretty sure they're old and rotting. Wasn't able to get a spore print either, though that's something I had never done before so maybe I'm just doing it wrong. If they're all decomposing, should I remove them all to give a chance for new fruiting bodies to spring up? I doubt the rains will last here much longer so I want to allow for new mushrooms to pop up if that's possible.

Are u retarded don't touch them
Even if hurr durr 4chan
What are those things called that make your lawn / garden less wet. They have tiers and they absorb wetness.

Are you talking about drainage tiles?

No. It's like this big structure with multiple levels and it takes all the moisture in the soil and sends it underground.

http://www.baka.com.au/national/man-killed-by-crocodile-at-cahills-crossing-in-northern-territory-20170119-gtv22y.html
A man has been killed by a crocodile while trying to cross a river near the Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory, police say.
The 47-year-old man was wading across Cahills Crossing, a causeway across the East Alligator River, with two women when he disappeared under the water about 4pm on Thursday.
The women raised the alarm and police and park rangers launched several boats to search for the man. His body was found about two kilometres downstream about 7pm.
Superintendent Warren Jackson, from Northern Territory Police, said a 3.3-metre crocodile was found close to the man's body. That crocodile was shot and killed, and its body will be recovered on Friday.
The East Alligator River at Cahills Crossing is infested with saltwater crocodiles, and signs have been erected at the spot warning people not to enter the water.
>see river named "Alligator River"
>decide it would be a good idea to get it in
how retarded so you have to be....
I kinda like the bit at the end:
The last death at the crossing was in 1987, when Kerry McLoughlin was decapitated by a 5.1-metre crocodile. The 40-year-old Jabiru man was out fishing with his son when he stumbled and fell off the causeway.
He threw a beer can at the animal but it seized him as he scrambled to escape up the riverbank.
>>934062
why was it neccessary to kill the crocodile?
did it made the man to be alive again?
>>934063
SOP.
>>934063
that's kind of the whole point I was making
I never see the point in killing predators just because they killed some idiot who was dumb enough to enter their territory
(animals who display unusual aggressive behavior, showing up where they shouldn't be is another story)
in this case, like killing one crocodile is going to make the river safer?! as if any other crocodile wouldn't do the exact same thing?
How did I do and what should I order next? looking for mainly camping stuff but also SHTF stuff

I want to start a Homestead with the prospect of growing it into a community. My area of choice is near Wien Lake in Alaska, there is a piece of land 4.85 acres for sale for about $3,500.
Logistically speaking how would I go about making this into a homestead and potentially growing it into a community of people (not including recruiting people to the little community).
This has been a fleeting thought in my mind for a few years, I want to start thinking about it seriously a few years before I'm actually going to implement it.
Pic Unrelated.

Fucking nice. Any pics?

Land will be garbage for homesteading if it is that cheap. You won't be growing much without significant investment in other areas.

Hey /out/ i spent 6 hours yesterday walking in wet socks/shoes. Today my feet feel like they're on fire. What do?
>>933547
Theyre overly saturated and your cells are bursting from osmotic pressure. Soak you feet in salt to prevent any more damage
Maybe like a foot bath in Epsom salt? Idk do some research
>>933547
in future bring spare socks, and talc, air your feet when you stop for a break and at meals, rotating your socks. You can dry the previous pair at your arm pits.
This is what my father taught me from his time in the army in the 70s. Even with soaking wet boots you can manage reasonably well by this method.

has anyone been watching the space live streams? pretty /comfy/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ruruhg6q1w
Wow,vthat's really nice. It must be pretty comfy up there, floating above the planet like that.
>>933393
We /out/er space now?
>>933398
While in the suits on a space walk you'd be hearing all the suits electronics making noise and your own body noises. Most sound is muffled by the earpieces you wear for communications. While aboard the space station, there's no place for the vibrations to go, you get to hear everything making noise. It is kind of like your mother running the vacuum cleaner 24/7.
So, the only comfy you'll be getting is when your suit electronics shut off while out on a space walk.
Any PA campers? I want to go primitive camping, but I dont know where/when I can. Also what are camping permits and where can I get them?
>>932909
County? Which area you in?
>>932977
Montgomery.
>>933054
Oh shit me too. I came from lower bucks. Just moved over a county.
Your best bet is to go west. There's a ton of hiking trails that are closer than going up to the poconos. Alternativly, the poconos would be better for camping due to it being more spread out and better views.
If you need to get a camping permit I'm sure there's just an office you'd have to deal with to get a permit.

We get bug out bag threads all the time, but no one ever discusses what to cache in case you can't get home to grab your BOB.
What do you have, or would like to have, buried in case a (fire / flood / famine / earthquake / volcano / sinkhole / in-laws) makes your home unlivable? How far away from where you work or live would you have to travel to get to your stop-point where you do / would keep your cache? What kind of cachement container do you use?
>>932181
I'm currently rebuilding my cache. My previous setup was a 5Gal bucket. I was expecting a major natural disaster or war, maybe zombies, lol, so I had a fifth of vodka and a couple rolls of silver quarters for trading. For personal use, I had a carton of cigarettes, a change of clothing, a decent hunting knife, a water filter, some wire snares, a few hundred feet of paracord, a tarp and a few cans of food, mostly soup and spam.
So far, the changes that I've decided to make are to put in an SOL Escape bivvy and Thermolite Extreme liner, replace the carton of Camels with a can of American spirits and a bag of filters, replace the fifth of vodka with just a couple airline bottles, put in a couple rolls of jute, replace the canned food with more space-efficient calories such as rice and avocado oil, and get a better knife in there. I've been tossing around the idea of changing the 5Gal bucket for a large section of PVC long enough to put a small rifle and fishing rod in there, but I don't really want to go out and buy a rifle just to bury it in the woods.
