I climbed the nose on el capitan, in a day.

Sweet dude. I've been there and watched some of the climbers. Is it pretty difficult? I understand some routes are harder than others but it's not terribly far to climb it seems.

P-39 or P-45, depending on whether you prefer comfort or small size.

The can openers on multi-tools typically have a smooth and rounded lip grip, and were obviously not intended to be used, but rather were designed to give the illusion of additional usefulness on a multi-tool, kind of like the tow-hitch on a car with a four cylinder engine.

Nope. Mountain Lion stood in the tree and, while I was scared, the Mountain Lion just stared at me before silently disappearing.

It was a most vile, ill tempered beast. A pussy grabbing stinker with a reputation of fouling things up every where he goes.

Guys lets make this year the year we actually start the community.
If we start early this spring, we could be cozy by fall.
What needs to happen to make this a reality?

I'm looking for a tent that I can travel with easily, that is small and relatively light and can attach easily to a backpack
Does anyone have any recommendations, I was looking at pic related, any one have experience with it

Any tent not made for car camping.
What are you looking for exactly?

Number of people?
3 seasons, 4 seasons?
Price? Weight?
>>
>>933000
A small tent I can attach to my backpack and travel around Europe with in summer(although it would be Sweden/Norway so itll be cold). 2 person would be ideal but it cant be massive or heavy as I would be carrying it around
>>
>>933007
Go to tarptent and look if there is anything you like.

I would recommand Shelter Jamet it's cheap and light but condensation is a bitch.

How would this knife be for going /out/?
57 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
>>931203
It has 2 cutting edges. It could also be used as an ice pick. Dressing game would be a task because of the sharp point and the edge facing down, potentially damaging inner organs while opening it. You could dull one of the edges on purpose though.
It's designed as weapon and not as tool, but would handle light wood tasks and all tasks involving slicing and cutting very well.
>>
>>931218
>It's designed as weapon and not as tool

Aren't all weapons tools?
>>
>>931203
It was designed with stabbing rather than cutting in mind. It wouldn't be my first choice for an /out/ knife.

The thing I found kinda realistic about RDD was if a bear was after you, you basically had one shot with your rifle to kill it or you were dead.

Wool Blankets.

Anybody like wool blankets here? Any advice on what brands of blankets are best? I'm interested in getting an HBC blanket because I'll just sell a knife or two from my collection to cover most of the cost.

I love me my wool blanket. I'm not a pussy who doesn't know how to build a proper white man fire so I don't depend on a sleeping bag for warmth. My wool blanket right now spreads out the heat wonderfully so I don't get hot spots that are inevitable in windy -30C when the warmed air instantly cuts off from super hot to witch-tit cold on an invisible line.

Woolrich makes gud wool blankets. expensive, but apparently some of the best, and oldest
>>
>$300+ for a blanket that you can get used
lel

In Italy and France I've seen blankets made from white lambskin with the hair still on.
They're heavy, but no chance of wind getting trough.
They were much more expensive than $300 though.

Just picked up a couple of these, going to get back into snorkeling and spear fishing (in Western Australia). Any recommendations for other gear, particularly spear guns?

I have pic related tent (Alps Meramac 3 person FG).

It is a 3 season tent, but can I safely use it for winter camping in Arizona? Temps wouldn't go below zero probably, and it's unlikely that it would snow while camping... but just in case.

Snow camping general? I don't mind the cold and I am antsy to go camping.

Thanks!

Not with that fly negro, you want a full fly for winter camping. That looks like a comfy summer tent but youll get raped by nature at 0 degrees

I personally decorated the plants with different types of moss and river rocks, they didn't come like that from the store. What do you guys think of them?

Also got some of those adhesive hooks that I stuck to the wall and put some ivy in some small pails. I plan to make the ivy grow all around my room.

Veritable knee savers downhill, leg muscle savers uphill, extra support on treacherous, slippery and unstable terrain, handy for testing bad/marshy/whatever terrain on flat ground. Spider web removal for good measure.

Not much use on solid flat ground, but excellent on hilly and higher areas up to the point where you need an ice axe.
