What does it takes to make this shitbox fast? Preferably without turbo. Is there something that can be swapped in relatively easily?
Or is it just another hachi-roku/240Z tier meme-mobile?
Nitrous I guess. There are factory turbos though so it's not like it would be that hard to add it.
>>16018586
port the shit out of the engine
also i believe that a 20b bolts right up to the stock transmission in the fc
also its not a shitbox
>Preferably without turbo
holesaw=over 300hp
I'm tired of driving this weak piece of shit.
I'm |-| this close to selling it and buying a 2012 Mustang (coughV6). Give me reasons not to
You'll be kicking yourself for not getting the V8 forever. Keep it a bit longer and save up until you can get a GT.
>>16018573
But I live in New York City. If I open up a GT anywhere near here I'll probably be under arrest...
GT's are for rural folk.
>>16018558
I drive a new V6. It's a great car. Ignore the "muh v8" autists. They'd rather own a 2002 GT than a 2015 V6 because they're retarded.
Guys, what is this tube I've circled in front of the battery.
2004 honda accord 3.0 v6
>INB4 intake. Its not
>>16018443
pretty sure it is part of the intake system. the intake snakes down under the battery then back up to the airbox through the fender afaik
>>16018443
That's for when you need to take a piss on the side of the road. Next time, piss in that tube.
>>16018443
what is this? a picture for ants?
I'm putting a new 1.8T into my little smurfette this weekend. It's had low compression since I bought it. A few people tell me it's gonna be night and day difference between speed, power and smoother throttle, how true is that?
Also general engine swapping. Old to new or big upgrades.
>Inb4 I'm just replacing an engine
It's actually my stepping stone to big turbo builds. The bottom end was completely rebuilt with IE parts and has replacement studs from APR.
Is it an actual new engine (longblock)?
Are you replacing the turbo?
Does your current turbo not hit full boost anymore?
It may not be that big of a difference. Certainly the smart thing to do before going high-boost though.
Looks nice.
I had my 2.0 TFSI rebuilt because it had bad complression on 2 cylinders. Burns a lot less oil, runs smoother, feels good man.
Why not upgrade to a bigger engine that doesn't use a timing belt?
>>16018710
>VAG in charge of timing chains
Trolling aside, the 1.8T is a solid enough engine.
hey all, just got an AWD car (g-sedan)
I usually put on winter tires because they kick ass in snow on my old FWD car.... now that I have AWD is it necessary to buy a set of winter tires? Any "all weather" tire that would be still be good in snow?
Side question: are Blizzaks still considered the kind of winter tires? Pic related
>>16018287
AWD won't help a lick when trying to stop. Also Nokians are one of the best snow tires, but blizzaks are top of the line as well.
>>16018321
this
I think stopping is the most important part of winter tires. My fwd cars have always had plenty of acceleration traction. Or at least as much as I would expect given the conditions.
>>16018321
>>16018389
Thanks guys
Would STUDLESS winter tires help me on:
* Roads that are already plowed, but have a thing, compact layer of snow
* Ice covered roads
* Wet, not frozen roads
We have mild winters, but our road crews suck so most highways and roads are still sort of perilous
>Car accident
>Person has no insurance
>How fucked is that person?
much much less than for a dwi
They get a ticket from the police, other party's in the wreck can use for damages. Gf's parents don't have insurance, mom ran a red light into a newer Toyota Land Cruiser. Basically in $40k of debt right now.
>>16018076
/oh fuck
>$40k of debt
Can't you just settle for like 20k straight up for the damages etc... Can there be criminal charges?
Who is this market towards?
We established the i3 is for cucks but what about the Smart car?
gross
get a good car like the e golf or something
>>16017985
Idk who its for but i would drive the crap out if it. Its such a novelty and its rediculous in its own right but i love it.
Years from now when they hit craigslist for 4-5g's i will own one for better or for worse.
>>16017985
I see mostly women in their late 20s early 30s driving this shoe box atrocity the most.
This is in response to the current thread, and all the threads like that, that get posted here every single day
CARS DO NOT GET YOU GIRLS
IN ORDER TOO IMPRESS A GIRL WITH YOUR CAR, YOU MUST FIRST GET HER IN YOUR CAR
DRIVING AROUND IN A COOL CAR ISN'T GOING TO MAKE GIRLS THROW THEIR PANTIES AT YOU FROM THE STREET
STOP BEING AUTISTIC
friend of mine did some snapchats of us in my car.
few months later I meet a girl from out of town who had seen the vids.
week later we were a couple.
granted she was a complete whore but still, OP is a giant faggot.
>>16018001
Congratulations, you've met a gold digger
I know girls that love my car too. And I've had sex with those girls. But I'm also attractive and can talk to women.
>>16018010
>you've met a gold digger
not at all. try schizophrenic.
I don't get it, I'm a college student with a '74 camaro that is in decent condition and can't get any chicks, but today I see a 90's pos fartcan civic with ugly two tone paint job that has 3 9/10 chicks in the back and two guys in the front...what am I doing wrong?
Cars don't get you girls, confidence does.
Your appearance and attitude are more important than what car you drive, you aspie.
well for one, why would the car help your charisma?
I'd like your opinion br/o/s,
the pic is my car, and it is the best car ive owned so far and I have no intention of selling it, however I think i want something else to compliment it.
i live in the snow belt and we get a lot, so even alternating winter/summer/track will only get me through a mild storm, and if there is more than a little bit of snow im pretty uncomfortable driving it.
so what should I buy? Im pretty sure i need awd but im not ready to stop daily driving a car with lots of character and a unique look. im not into SUVs or trucks. I want a high top speed, since the abarth is quick not fast. I would like to spend less than 12k or so, and pay cash, but could potentially make payments on something as expensive as 30-40k, maybe even higher if its worth it.
tldr cheap fast awd with character
used WRX with snow tyres = winter beater supreme.
there are like 4 subies on my street, i dont dislike them but one thing i like about my abarth is that i usually dont see another one
>>16017846
There's a reason you see so many Subarus, and it's because they're some of the best cars for foul weather.
There's a reason you're the only one in your state who owns an Abarth, and that's because it's FCA shit.
>having less than 4 doors
Why, /o/?
why doors at all
ever take off the doors of your car and drive around like a jeep? its a blast. im surprised roadkill did not do it
i did it on my mazda a few times
Structural rigidity
because i am lonely
I do love shitboxes and stuff, but why not have a thread about flashy exotics, super cars and other high end cars etc.? No corvette gtr bullshit pls. STARTING OUT BY POSTING BEST CAR
570 best budget supercar desu
underrated imo
>>16017853
>that sound
hnnnnggg
Why does everyone look at max horse power and not take the integral of the horsepower function from idle to red line? Wouldn't this be a more accurate description of how much power a car has?
What's next, you're going to tell us that power-to-weight ratio matters and that torque is important too?
nerd
Most people race from a roll, so they are already in there powerband
>>16017476
True that.
I feel like driving is the only thing I have control over in my life
who else /lonelydriver/ here?
you know you posted this on /o/ right
Why can't I have a car like that?
If I modified my AW11 to look like that you assholes would call it rice.
>>16017459
Why would you care about what some autistic bastards on this 17th century British horse-drawn carriage enthusiast board?
What's up with white people and motorhomes?
Racist
Easier to set up than a tent and more comfy.
>>16017244
We can afford them.
