Pt loser
Im tired of tesla drivers thinking thwy drive something in the ilk of an e63 amg, m5, etc, nah its an electric equivalent of a stock foxbody with nitrous, fast momentarily, but the rest of the time its a slow barren shitbox
So I have a 2015 Mazda 3 and I have been taking my car to the dealership for maintenance every 5k, the price hasn't been too bad up until now.
I'm currently at the 30,000 mark and I had gotten a quote for $499.00 and it seems a little much, here's what they want to do
>Oil & Filter change
>Inspect the Brakes
>Check all the hoses, belts
>Add Washer, Replacement of Engine Air Filter & Cabin Filter
>Perform a Charging System Check
>Battery Service Check, Alignment Check
>Drain & Fill for the Coolant
>Transmission & * Differential, (* If Applicable) >Inspect all Interior & Exterior Light Plus a Multi-point inspection
>wash the outside of your Car
What do /o/

Lern to DIY anon, save yourself loads of money.
>>16010915
I was gonna say you were being over charged, then I saw you got a car wash and that instantly made it all worth it
>>16010915
Honda dealership priced me something similar.
Planning on getting a 2014 f150 4x4. Hopefully will look somewhat like pic related. Putting and 8" lift on it. Whats the biggest tires i could put on without rubbing our cutting. Also would i need to re gear? How much would it cost to have it done professionally? More of a bike guy so dont harass me for not knowing my shit. Thankies :^)

Are they not reasonable questions for the mechanically declined?
>>16010868
more like incredibly specific questions about a particular vehicle that would be best answered on a vehicle-specific site or forum
What's your favourite thing about driving a car?
>>16010605
Climate control. I can make it as hot or as cold as I want, and if I want it 60F in there in August, it does't take hours to get there like the house.
Driving.

Have you ever lift-off oversteered your car /o/ ?
Didn't even know this was a thing until I accidentally did it taking a corner a little to hard in my little fwd car.
Scary as hell when you don't expect it, but fun nonetheless.
>>16010536
I know that road.
Full of devilish Micra's on the Black mountain
>>16010536
If you're driving your car hard enough to experience lift off oversteer and didn't know about it, even if not by name, then you're driving dangerously.

And?
Hey /o/, need some advice
Thinking about picking up this 2003 LX470 with 143k miles on it
It has some rust so I'm hesitant. What do you think? Too much rust?
that's not bad mileage for a landcruiser mechanically
rust is always bad but it depends where it is, if it's structural, how badly it's eaten the metal, etc
Guy has a '93 Renault Twingo for sale for around 600 eurobucks and says it's negociable. Says the Technical Inspection is avaible until February 2017.
Is there a catch I should be aware of?
>>16010349
Check it for rust on frame and panels. Apart from that, pretty much everything else is easily fixable.
Might be worth it, if just to sell a '93 to an American in two years.
>>16010349
>that dent (?) on rear fender wont buff out
>rear lamps non original, bumper fucked
>sideskirts look rusted
>it looks abused and neglected
I picked 97' with sunroof for 500€ 4 years ago. 600 now ain't a bargain.
>>16010585
This.
The Twingo in the photo looks like it really had a rough life. Around here you usually get those for free or they get flatout scrapped.
Whenever you have the chance, best bet would be to get one in Germany. The prices for them around here are ridiculous.
>running '99 Twingo for 100€
It's there a better sounding motor in a road car than the BMW S85?
https://youtu.be/igvSdMWOZ9s
>>16010091
It doesnt make noise though... cuz its always broken.
Also pic related sounds better. Cuz it actually stays running
>>16010109
it doesn't, because it's always connected to a chinese ebay fart can.
>>16010109
4A-GE only sounds good if it was ITBs
>>16010091
Yes, any M50/M52
I accidently backed into my girlfriend's sister's car and left a pretty big scratch/dent (pic related) How bad or how much do you think it will cost to fix it??
>>16009993
So you're a lesbian, right? Because I have seen this happen dozens of times and it is a female driver every time.
And they will probably want to replace both doors so have fun!
>>16009999
Didn't give me a price faggot
>>16009993
yikes
Can an automatic (not DCT) with paddle shifters sound as good as a manual? If not, then why?
Nigga what?
The only difference in sound is the tranny whine in reverse.
Exhaust note is by engine.
>>16009946
...what
nope everyone knows that the muffler bearings of an auto sound worse than a manual.
>My passport 9500ix got stolen last night
Why do people still don't have kill switches in their cars?

I /o/, please help me out with this dilemma.
I´ve been thinking for a while about changing my:
- Mazda 2, year 2011, Manual transmition, 40.000km.
For a
- Mazda 6, around year 2005, Automatic transmition, 100.000 to 150.000km (pic related).
Why?
- Because i have issues on my left knee so an Automatic would be a big relief.
- I´d like to (and need to) get a cash income with this, as the Mazda 6 would be around 2.000USD cheaper.
- For some reason I just want to change my car, i think i got bored and i don´t like it anymore.
I´m not a car guy, don´t really know much about them and my biggest concern is to get a car as reliable as my current one, because my mazda 2 has never had any issues and i don´t want to start having issues and spending time and money repairing the next car i get.
Do you think is risky? What should i look out for?
Or is it just a bad idea?
Any comments/ideas, are welcomed.
Thanks.
>>16009847
how much can you afford?
post you local craigslist or kijiji as the case may be.
>>16009872
I hope to sell the Mazda 2 around 8000USD, so maximum to spend should be 6.000, if not it doesn´t make sense the change for now.
Craiglist and kijiji are useless in my country :(
>>16009901
what country?
> You are not a true car guy.
> You are a sad poser lurking on /o/.
> You don't understand shit about car culture.
> You're just driving your current car that daddy paid for to impress that bitch that doesn't give a shit about you.
>>16009742
Projecting the post
>>16009742
I'm an engineer and I don't give a fuck about this. I don't get your point op.
>>16009805
Engineer as well, might be impressive in 90s but this is very basic to someone who hasn't had their head in sand.
Is it normal for these things to cost 1 to 2 thousand above their KBB value!?
I feel like I'm shopping for an s2000.
yup
theyve reached the point to where they arent worth the money any more
>>16009743
I'm not sure I'd go that far. But I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.
I thought it was a few bad apples, but the prices are consistent over a wide range.
I found one that only has 100,000 miles and is in mint condition, but they want $4500 for it! FUCK!
They only cost what people are willing to pay for them. There is no other metric by which their value can be measured. KBB doesn't get to decide how much a car is worth.
