It bases ads off your internet search history, so the reason you're seeing Subaru ads is because you were searching vape rigs and gay porn.

Anyone with severe autism for manual gearboxes ever loved and owned an automatic? What was it like?
To me changing gears is driving the car, I've driven only one automatic and it was pretty boring (though saying that it was a boring commuterbox anyway). The thing is I have a massive boner for a car that is only available with an automatic, but I'm scared I'd get bored of it in a week because no manuel.
Anyone got any input on this? A test drive isn't terribly helpful as your feelings after half an hour won't match up with your feelings after 2 months of ownership.
I've never heard anyone complain about DDing an automatic because they're bored. Quite the opposite, manual owners complain about having to shift too much when driving in city traffic and wish they had an auto for going to and from their wageslave dungeon.
Manual for your enthusiast car so you can enjoy the shifting and control on mountain roads or tracks away from normalfags, auto for your commute.
>>16006254
Honesty, i've never complained about changing up/down too much in city traffic.
The whole argument about which is better is literally shitposting. Both are good, buy the type you prefer. /fin

>manual owners complain
You mean pussies complain. Or people that can't drive manual complain.
I've been DDing manuals in Los Angeles the past 6 years. It's easy.
Cars that look aggressive without looking like angry sharks

How bad is peeling clear coat? Is it something I can just write off as Mad Max chique or is there a serious risk of rust? Seller is asking $3200 for this thing with 130k miles and the top interior trim package. Worth it or nah? How much would I be looking at to repaint it?
Also how does someone even let a car get to this point, I've never had a car that I or anyone I know owned get this bad.
Shit paints flake off. Nothing new.
If its oxidation and not flaking you can wet sand and buff it out
Yeah you might be able to buff it out. If the car is stored outside check the interior for water damage from leaking T-tops. Look underneath for rust.
Probably worth 2 grand but it might need 2 grand in tires, tune up and clutch. For 4 grand can you get a better car that needs nothing? Maybe.
Hey /o/
So I just got a new car, 08 civic. Paid 5k cash so it's not an issue.
Her body is good and mechanically she's sound, 120,000 miles so about halfway through her life, but cosmetically she's covered in dings, scratches, one of the doors has a foot by foot square that looks like it scraped a building and the front bumper has two baseball sized dents in them from hitting a parking barrier I'm assuming.
My question is, if I plan to keep it for 4 to 5 years, should i invest in a pro paint job or just rattlecan it now?
I live in Cleveland Ohio so I need to paint it soon so the road salt doesnt start infecting the body. I'm just trying to figure out if its worth the investment to try to clean up her appearance to like new or if I should just do the quick and easy thing to protect her from the elements.
Thoughts and opinions welcome, if you've owned one before let me know what your opinion of the car is and stuff to watch out for please :)

Bedliner roll on paint job
The hardest part about sprays using rattlecans is orange peel is practically unavoidable. If you're going to diy, invest in a compressor with a spray gun and filter/regulator. Will still be cheaper than a full respray done by a pro shop, but you should definitely practice the whole process on spare scrap if possible.
And remember, painting is 80% prep, 20% spray skill. If there's any bumps or irregularities in the base metal, it will show through the paint regardless of how many layers you put on.

Rattlecanning outside of things like wiper blade arms and wheel wells and the like I would personally consider retarded on a modern vehicle besides maybe a fleet truck/work van type situation.
For dings, take to a dent doctor, aka "paintless dent repair" dude. read reviews beforehand and find whoever in your area are recommend and just take it to them and ask him to get whatever he can.
That will resolve your minor dents, afterwards polish with some compound and see how many scrapes and scratches you can get out yourself. That will give you a better idea of if you actually need an all over paint job or maybe just a few panels, going to be much cheaper getting a hood and deck lid painted versus every panel on the body.
So i can't really tell you if you should invest in paint work, your car probably wont be worth the difference if you did get it repainted now in five years considering the cost of a good paint job, but I would not recommend taking a rattle can to major panels.
So I gave in to the wifey and sold the S2K. For the sake of my last remaining testicle what's a good sporty commuter that can easily fit a future brat in the back?
Rice out a honda civic until it's faster than your s2k, don't tell your wife anything.
Just go ahead and buy some rope, op.

Squash. Specifically the Smooth cologne light squash because it comes in a big ass box and lasts half a year. Picked up a shit ton when I was in Japan for about $9 each. Smells like a less sweet version of ramune and everyone always comments on it when they get in my car
Anyone owned an LS400? This CL one is tempting as fuck
I'm trying to DD a Miata atm with at least 30 minutes of pure highway each way, daily, and I think this would be a big upgrade
Am I wrong?
Would the LS feel like absolute shit in the twisties compared to the Miata?

yes
>>16005961
The only answer to your "good daily fun in the twisties" question is a WRX.
>>16005966
But these mods are making me doubt that
Of course it will never be as good as a Miata, but my question is how big will the gap be.

Its a fucking Q7
Bentley has never gone so low as to dress up car from a lower brand. Even the Phaeton/Flying Spur twins were still premium vehicles.
This is something else entirely. This is Bentley saying they literally don't give a fuck anymore.
I expect a rebadged Volkwagen Amarok soon.
And now Rolls Royce will follow suit with a rebagded BMW X5

It's not a Q7, it's a nice touareq

Why are European cars considered /premium (Mercedes, Audi, bmw, vw etc) when most people acknowledge that they have reliability issues.
how is something premium when they constantly have shit going wrong with them and most complain about them being major headaches?
When new and under warranty they are extremely good. But once waranty runs out shits expensive. Germans are mechanical masters, but that mastery comes with a cost.
For example, my 2015 diesel BMW needed 1 injector replaced. So they replace all 4 to avoid issues, that was over 2400€.. Covered by warranty.
Also they are equipped with all sorts of fancy shit. German cars are the best cars, so long as they are covered by warranty.
>>16005855
I'm not sure what happens to German brands when they end up on North American shores but they don't have nearly as many horror stories as you lot have.

Agreed, BMW tries to divorce itself from it's respectable legacy every chance it gets nowadays. In fact, I think Audi is the only German manufacturer that seems like it hasn't sold out yet.
I don't know what this is, /o/, but it's got an uber sticker on it. Can anyone say?
Looks like some kind of weird Dodge Stratus.

Its a Honda ridgeline.
/o/. In search of a van with a raised roof for my Mom and my sister. Sister is handicapped and we need a full sized van for a lift and her wheelchair.
Need something reliable, doesn't need to be brand new, but nothing very old. 4WD (if possible) would be nice, but not needed. She's owned Chevy/GMCs, but our current 03 Chevy Express just had the engine go out, the trans is fucking itself and the whole underside is rusted to fuck and back.
We currently have a '94 GMC Van we use as a backup. Anyone have any experience with anything else? We've been recommended to get a Ford instead of another Chevy. Anyone have any experience with Vans?
Thanks. Pic-not related.
