Sound logic from Mr. Neutron.
How can I get my MR2 setup for maximum touge potential (apart from the obvious coils, struts, etc.)?

Weld half a corolla onto the front for dat mad AWD rally handling.
Good shocks, reasonable springs, a good alignment to TRD street performance specs, and then some of the great tires available on the market today, and you can corner as well as the reality of shitty road conditions and unpredictable traffic will let you. If you find yourself running out of brakes (unlikely, I expect you to be laughably slow like 95% of street drivers) get some street/track pads and good rotors. You don't need bigger calipers for touge speeds, you just need the heat capacity that rotors and race pads offer.
My recommendations:
ST springs OR Ground Control coilovers on Koni Yellows, with 150-200 lb/in front and ~300 lb/in rear spring rates. Unless you're on a smooth paved track, you're just going to skitter over ripples in the pavement with the high spring rates that are in vogue with import tooners. Just leave the rear sway off. A stock sway is ok to have, mine had one, but you really don't need an aftermarket sway bar.
Hankook RS3, Dunlop Star Spec ZII, BFG Rival S, all tires available in 205 and/or 225 width on a 15 rim. 15x7 with a 205 fits these cars so well. You can use a 15x8 and upgrade to a 225 tire in the future if you want, but that's really overkill grip for the street unless you're making big power. Stick with a 200 treadwear tire, it makes 90% of the difference over the stock car. The suspension and other bullshit just makes you feel like a real racer.
Drop some weight. 2200 lbs is easy to achieve with wheels, gutted trunks, tubular exhaust manifold and lightweight exhaust, and by not buying a faggy t-top or sunroof car. I highly recommend a lightweight flywheel, even if you're not going to swap motors etc.
Fix your loose shitty suspension. Twosrus has every part needed to make it as tight as new again. This is critical on a 4 wheel macstrut car, because there's not much holding those wheels in alignment.
>Drove to work with no problems
>Sitting in the parking lot for about 10 minutes

>My car is hissing coolant from right above the exhaust header

My house is about 15 minutes of light downhill driving away, can I make it home? I'm fuckin stressed
>>16188636
Just drive home you pussy.
Or go the auto part store and top it off.
I wouldnt. But try and fill up your radiator if you are going to try and make it home
>>16188636
pour water in there & you should be fine for 15 minutes of light driving
when you get home/the auto parts store drain the water and put actual coolant in there
if you don't have water available then you should probably kill yourself as you are living in a third world shithole
Just ordered some chink UHP tires for my Miata. $285 mounted, balanced, and old tires disposed of. What am I in for, boys?
What's the cheapest tires you've ever run?
>>16187439
Were they Black Lions?
Have some on my DD. Name is adequate given the level of fucking tire roar
>>16187647
Nah, they were Sentury, which is a Discount Tire exclusive, but they also make Delinte and Landsail according to their website, not that I've heard of either.
They will be shit at every aspect.
Though I am tempted to buy some Nangkang AR-1s.
Should I change my tires? How many more miles do I have in these? Will I survive the winter in these? pls no bully
get new tyres before you kill yourself degenerate

Hey /o/ I've got an emergency. My rear calipers have this metal end cap sort of thing on the main pin slider like pic related, on the left there. It has a small hole in it and a dust boot that fits in it.
Both my metal end caps for my rear calipers are fucked and I need new ones, but I can't for the life of my figure out what they're called (to find the part individually) or find them on rockauto under any car that shares the same rear calipers. They'd be from late 80's toyotas, mr2, celica, corolla, etc.
caliper rebuild kit
>>16187249
I just said you can't find them in kits
>>16187024
Bruh I don't even think that is an individual part you can order. You would have to buy a new complete caliper. Also, a caliper rebuild kit wouldn't do shit as they just tend to be for wearable items like rubber seals
Can you help me identify this car ?

>>16186792
lol I remember this. some guy claiming this was his 9.999 run for his 911 turbo, when it was actually a GT-R. nice meme anon!
Other than the Lada Niva, what car should I get if I want to get into Vargmode?
>>16185772
UAZ 469
>>16185772
And a VW Type 2 T3 minibus, when you get a wife and 4 children.
>>16185859
You mean UAZ-452?
I just saw a craigslist job listing for a car salesman and it dawned on me I could fucking do that.
Couple issues though, I'm NEET (should be a benefit) and my experience/resume is shit. Also not that knowledgeable about cars but love them.
What steps can I take to con my way into this job? I'm going to start studying car shit ASAP so other then that?
fuck ya'll im pushing lemons on ya bitch ass

Is the Volkswagen Rabbit 2.5 a good car?
>>16185314
no. just get a civic for 3k.
>>16185314
No. Objectively a bad car compared to others in its class.
my dad just picked up an 08 Rabbit for work
it's a fun car, but there are other options.
Sup cunts
>Ninety six C1500
>NV3500 five speed
>Loud squeaking like two pieces of tin rubbing with clutch pressed in but only occasionally.
>Hard to get into gears sometimes. Reverse is notorious and grinds unless I
>Push in clutch, shift knob into fifth then reverse keeping clutch depressed. Like it's not spinning down.
Bleeding the clutch tomorrow but I bet the throwout bearing is going. Thoughts?
>>16185308
Also go some new Yokohama S-Drive tires for my mags. Quite a size difference.
This isn't fucking Wordpress faggot,

Fuck off nigger I'm asking for auto advice about my transmission.
I drive a 2011 Ford Police Interceptor. I wanna swap out the stock radio that came with it for a stereo from something like a Grand Marquis that ideally has the cd/tape combo like in pic related. I was gonna check out a pick and pull tomorrow and see if I can find one.
Will they be complicated to swap? it seems like I can pop the stereos out easily but am I gonna need extra wires to hook up or can I just swap them and replug? from the exterior it seems like the police Crown Vics and Grand Marquis have roughly the same dashboard.
I imagine it's pretty plug and play. You can probably find those head units for $10 or sneak out of a junk yard. But really they are total shit. Buy a decent aftermarket head unit. Single din and you get extra storage space.
I know on the older P71's with the thin fleet radios they had a different plug, I believe the 2011 was the same way. You're most likely going to have to do some cut/splice work.
Also, look for an escape audiophile unit, much better than the stock radio.
>>16185158
>>16185165
Its hard to find aftermarket with tape decks. Seems weird to really want one but I've always wanted a tape player in my car. Got a ton of tapes from my uncle way back and dont have anywhere to play them. Its why I mentioned this one from Mercury in specific.
In the end I guess I'll just do whatever works so long as I get a cd player or an aux port at least. Just only having the option to listen to radio makes me wanna blow my brains out.
Do you wash/wax your car?
If yes, how often and how many coats of wax?
If no, why not?
Wash biweekly, car isn't worth a wax. Clay bar it when I first bought it, really brought out the shine.
>>16185072
i wash it once a week, dont wax because im too fucking lazy but i know i should
>>16185072
i always keep a coat of wax on the car since the clearcoat was in a bad shape when i got it. i try to wash it every week and it rarely goes unwashed for two weeks unless during winter.
winter prep looks like this:
>high quality soap&wax
>auto polish/buffing agent: WonderWheels paintwork color restorer
>wax: WW perfection resin polish
>durable protective coat: WW paintwork sealant
i used to i usually did 3 coats of auto polish when i got it but on cars in good condition it will definitely eat up your paint super fast.
try to stay away from some waxes during the cold months since some showroom will wash right off
What car is this again?
C7 Stingray
a Japanese one
Miata
