The car I purchased has these ' ultra performance ' Hancook all-season tires.... would you say in blanket terms those are good tires?
Handcocks are fine.
Whats the treadwear rating on them?
>>16195468
I've heard good things about them and the brand does have real motorsports presence. They're on the cheap side yet they place regularly on the Top-5 lists of performance tyres.
When my Neova's are done, I'm thinking on going Hankook.

IDK :(
So I made the unwise decision at the ripe age of 23 to start racing, a lifelong dream. Look, I'll never be professional but if there was someway, what would be the most experience rewarding/most chances to get noticed? What would the progression look like?
>Rotax Max
>Shifter karts
>SCCA
>Formula Ford
>Formula 3
>F1/GT3,V8 supercars/Rally

>what would be the most experience rewarding/most chances to get noticed?
Winning regional and then national level championships. That way you can start pulling in big sponsors much easier. Also, don't be an autist introvert. Talk to people. Get to know your competitors, people that run the events, etc to create a network for yourself (and for others). Go and participate in as many events as you can which more often than not means lots of traveling. If you aren't racing at least every other weekend, you're not working hard enough. Having a cool twitter/instagram to toot your own horn can also help.
You have to keep in mind, though, that there's no step-by-step instructions to becoming a pro or semi-pro driver. Every pro driver will tell you that it took just as much luck as it did skill to get to where they got in their careers.
>>16195229
Win every race, every single one even your first. The moment you lose you're fucked.
Starting at age 6 wouldn't hurt either
>>16195229
Okay at 23 it is not going to happen. Go focus on earning lots of money and you can pay to play by the time you are 50.
There are tons of men way more eligible than you and way younger than you than there are race seats available. What makes you so special that you are above common sense?
ProTip: Nothing, you are just another poser dreamer. I know this is hard to accept because you have JUST become an adult, but that possibility is already gone. You would be racing GT3 cars right now if you fate was to be a race car driver.
My advice. Get into Spec Miata or Spec E30/36 and have fun.

Better than the Mclaren 650s.
>>16194259
What is wrong with the styling?
This has to be the ugliest Ferrari ever, and they've made a few damn ugly cars over the years.
>>16196229
I think they look alright, but it's a Pininfarina design that was added to/changed by Ferrari in house design, not designed from the ground up by one firm with one vision
Newbie manual driver here. So say I'm in 3rd, and a stop sign is coming up. Can I slow down to the stop sign and just switch from 3rd down to first once I'm stopped? That's what I've been doing. I'm in 3rd or 4th, see a stop sign, slow down and hold the clutch in once the rpm get low enough and switch into 1st when I stop, and I'm asking because it doesn't feel 'correct'.
you can do a lot of different shit, that's the beauty of a manual.
if you are a true madman then you can heel-toe that shit every time you stop.
What I do is brake in gear until 1k rpm-ish and throw it into neutral.
>>16194246
What do you think you're supposed to do? You don't rev match 1st. inb4 some faggot trying to get you to think about your poor throwout bearing

no it needs a bit of oil in it
it looks dirty though
replace your air filter
Wait that's the turbo, I'm an idiot. Question still stands
>>16193282
I did a while back, this is the first time I looked in the air intake for the turbo. I wiped the rim with brake cleaner and blasted out the air filter with a air compressor bc it has only 4k on it
>>16192179
That's subtle compared to the Civic Type R
>>16192195
All functional.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-bp-interactive-gas-pump-1115-biz-20161115-story.html
>Meet Miles, BP's chatty interactive gas pump aimed at millennials
>"Miles," an interactive pump with a high-octane personality and a touch screen, is being tested at two Chicago-area BP stations and two in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, with an eye toward a broader rollout. The pumps use artificial intelligence to engage customers with Pandora music stations, trivia, photos for social sharing and witty banter.
>When a car pulls up to the pump, a motion detector wakes up Miles to greet customers with blaring music and a choice of Pandora radio formats.
>"I'm going to play some of your favorite tracks while you fill up," Miles said during a recent visit to the River North station. "I'd be dancing if I could, but, well, I'm a pump."
>Miles provides a few options to pass the time while filling the tank, including music trivia games, video e-cards and "augmented reality" photos for social sharing.
THE FUTURE IS HERE
>I'd be dancing if I could, but, well, I'm a pump.
I SAID DANCE FOR ME.

So what is the general consensus about McLaren cars? How do they compare to Lamborghini, Ferrari etc.?
>>16191645
People who get their opinions from Fifth Gears review of the 12c say they're soulless and boring.
Anyone who has seen one irl, let alone driven one, is amazed by them.
You'll find many of the former and few of the latter on /o/, just thought you'd like to know.
mclaren revolutionized the industry with their mass-produced composite tubs.
also, active rollbars are neat.
but, personally, i hate the current design
language.
>>16191653
how can anyone look at this car and think "soulless and boring"? it looks like the fucking devil
Turbofags, I need your help! I can't figure out what's causing my boost spike. Even with my wastegate actuator plumbed straight to my intake the boost spikes up to 8 PSI (actuator pressure is 5) under certain conditions, such as flooring it from a high RPM in a low gear. The only relevant mods I have are a front mount intercooler, replacing my pissy standard side mount.
pic related, it's my car. 1997 R33 Skyline GTST
>>16197521
is it a stock BOV/Boost controller?
pretty sure the factory boost is around 6ish
Just put a aftermarket Controller on there and enjoy the free hp boost
>>16197537
BOV is blocked, no boost controller at all, as I said actuator is plumbed straight to the piping (to the standard wastegate actuator pickup). Standard actuator on this car should be 5 PSI and I definitely see 5 PSI in most cases, like when I ease into boost
>>16197521
Your wastegate has a problem with releasing its pressure, either the spring is worn out, its not big enough to do the job or there's a problem on the vacuum line to the gate actuator which isn't sending the pressure correctly to open.
9/10, its generally those
/o/ is this a real Ferrari or is it a shop?
I'm being led to believe that its a 458 with a kit but I've never seen it before in my life.

It looks very promising but the owner tells me that there is no a/c and no heat. The blower however works. Should I stay away or how much can I expect to spend to resolve the issue?
>>16196067
that's a lot for that gen F150 with issues. Seriously, why do you need a lift for work use?
Way too much for a 1/2 ton thats been molested as fuck.
You can find a much nicer OBS for that price if you shop around.
>>16196071
Well I got him down to $3800. I don't particularly need a lift for work but I do intend to off road a bit during holidays/weekends. Nothing serious enough to necessitate a lift, but it does look cool imo
