So when I was 15 (now 20) my grandfather gave me his wife's Thunderbird for $200, it had 160k miles and I was the 3rd owner. I used it all through high school and the only major problems I had was the master cylinder went out. I want to make it faster and sound better.
I want to put a LS v8 5.3 engine, Coilovers, maybe put in 3" straight pipes in and renew the paint and interior.
anyone have any advice or suggestions for other modifications.

Really though OP you could probably put in a cam, intake, and exhaust and not have to go through the ordeal of an engine swap. Even if you do get the 5.3 you can't keep the stock cam for that engine because those are for trucks that burn 87 octane and suck ass for performance applications.

Are VW's built in Mexico really more unreliable than German built ones? I've only ever had Japanese and German built vehicles, but am in the market. I keep hearing horror stories about Mexican QC being really shitty. Is this for real or a meme?
