Is restoring a classic muscle car worth it? i've always wanted to restore a muscle car but importing an unrestored one to my country is as expensive as importing a normal car which i think might not be worth the expense. and because my country(the philippines to be specific) has very strict rules in importing cars 'cause they only want us to buy from car companies(toyota, mitsubishi, suzuki, almost all the rice cooker car companies out there) so should i just find an unrestored one here in my country or import one?
It will be slow, crappy and feel ancient by the time you are done restoring it.
Then you will have to tell all the realisits and pragmatisits that 'I KNOW WHAT I'VE GOT"
Honestly, just grab life by the pussy and buy something new. You have the current gen mustang in your backwaters shitty country, right? Get that.
Restoration is a huge pain in the ass. You picture it as spending days and nights in the garage bringing a poor old car back to life when in reality you'll be spending days and nights on the internet searching for parts and haggling with boomers because they want $300 for a door handle sinceyou absolutely need it for your car to be correct. Any shop work is incredibly expensive if you run into something you can't do. There are places that'll restore a car for you and it costs around $40-50k which is more than street value. Do yourself a favor and buy one in the condition you desire.

the problem is muscle cars really only work in america.
Outside America they're more of a cheeky "just for the laff" than a real sportscar.
Is Impreza really always the answer?

Yea I guess if you wanna be wrong

Why? I thought Subaru was a reliable brand?
I'm deciding between 2 cars, here is the first one
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/5884254843.html
And the other one has 95k miles with 40k on a rebuild. All receipts included and is tastefully modded. Recent clutch/timing belt. Can someone identify what suspension this is? Koni streets? Seller is firm on 4300 and I'm kind of bummed that he doesnt have a hardtop.

I'm planning on buying one or the other tomorrow so any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
What's with the gold duct tape on #2?
Helps keep intake air cool. Supposedly that tape reflects heat.

I'm thinking of spending around $100 on a dash cam, any recommendations?
I was actually wondering if this is any good myself.

Anyone know if this is actually good and not full of memes?
I've had a GW1-C for 8 months now, for $50 and it's been great. Beware of knockoffs for absurdly cheap prices. Also had an SD card fail but that was not the fault of the camera. Check it every once in a while, you should be able to see the screen's reflection in a window if it's facing glass, and look for the blinking red dot.
Would it be worth to spend another 50 for the rear camera?
is it a bad idea to buy an LS1 based car at 100,000+ miles sight unseen?
I found the car im looking for at several thousand cheaper than what they seem to be going for on the other side of the country so plus transport it is still waay under budget
it's a 2004 Holden SS ute (manual)

I should also mention with my license I cant drive a V8 in my state for the next couple of months, otherwise I would fly up there and pick it up
>I should also mention with my license I cant drive a V8
What kind of eurocuck country is this?
>>16195553
Australia have "P plates" for a probationary license
you get less demerit points so it's easier to lose your license and depending on the state there are power limits
for example in Victoria where I am, we have 4 years of P plates, cant drive V8's or cars with turbo/superchargers except for I think post 2012 when they changed to a maximum power/weight
general rule though is no V8/TC/SC
I've been driving a V6 until now and I just want a fucking V8 before fuel makes them impossible to own ever again
>I'm 22 next month and can finally legally drive a real car
How easy/likely is it to get financing for a mid 90's pick-up with ~650 credit score?
>>inb4 save up and pay cash fgt
Why the fuck can't you afford a 90's pick-up with cash? Literally 800-1.5k on Craigslist
>>16195583
Not exactly a cheap one lol.. Broncos normally cost 6-10 grand, my man.
How the fuck is your score only 650?
Mine is over 800 and I haven't really taken any big loans.
Hi /o/, I'm looking to buy a w203 Mercedes Benz c class. I was curious if there are any owners here that would like to chime in and offer any insight as to why not to buy/ why to buy this car. the link is one I was looking at. http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/5882760632.html

>drivetrain doesnt matter
>trans doesnt matter
>comfy interior
>easy to work on
>less than 15k

Hey /o/ I was thinking about getting an E46 M3 but I noticed it had an SMG transmission. If I'm correct that is essentially the same thing as tiptronic? Any insight would be much appreciated/
Smg is a manual transmission that automatically puts the clutch in and shifts for you. Though im pretty sure you still have to remove your foot from the gas when youre shifting in the manual mode.
>>16195126
don't. get a manual. there's a reason automatic bmws are cheaper.
>>16195139
>Smg is a manual transmission
"no"
Hi /o/, I've really enjoyed my Focus ST, but I think it's time for something else. I want a grand touring car. Something that, sure, handles pretty nicely on a twisty road, but can just eat up highway miles like it's nothing.
My first thought was a Lexus SC300, but I'm curious what /o/ would chose as a grand touring car.
>pic related, it's what I really want, but doubt I can have
>>16195005
whats the budget (gbp)
Japanese can't make GTs. In your price range how about a clean 840ci?
$10k (that's freedom units) is probably an upper limit, but for the right car I'd consider more.
>>16195030
Is the 8-series fairly reliable? I like the idea of the SC300 mainly because "lol Jap reliability". I mean, if I'm getting a car that is intended to drive for hours and hours on a highway, I don't really want to be left stranded hours and hours from home.
or are you usually driving really carefully?
>>16194978
I grab mine by the pussy. It's wore out and the bottoms about to drop out of it.
I grab everything and everyone by the pussy. Boy, girl, car, doesn't matter. If you are near me, I dominate you.
It's a fucking three decades old car. Of course I won't thrash it all the time. I'm glad it's still holding together.

Which is the best solution
>Buying a very reliable vehicle, but has high km
>Buying a low-mid reliable vehicle, but at a low km
In this case I have to buy a truck for an environment very cold and lots of snow
>price range of 4-10k
>Toyota Tacoma's in that price range are all 200-300k km, latter especially with 4x4
>all in price range are older models, with rust being a chief concern
>4runner is the same, a bit cheaper
>Ford, GMC, and other are 100-200k km in same price range
>newer models than Tacomas
>however may not handle mountains of snow as well
This is for work, so I can't just get rich and buy a sweet Tacoma
pic related. 400k km, 2009 Tacoma being sold for $8000 locally. What the fuck
the 200k taco
