Who would you have watching out for you and helping you out in a SHTF scenario?
Mine is pic related. I'd choose James Yeager otherwise.
Robert Redford as Jeremiah Johnson
We'll eat liver when we run out of food
Probably David Allen Coe's dad, he seems like a good guy to get in a fight with, and he had alot of dogs.

i bet you guys didnt know you could use an SKS gas piston as a penile sound
Continue you glorious bastard

>>34353690
>gas piston as a penile sound
What did he mean by this?
Lord knows I have been trying to convince myself of getting a 1911 variant, but I just somehow cannot get myself to do it.
>fits hand well
>sleek and slim, timeless, elegant design
>single action trigger
>about as much heritage and history as a gun can have
but then
>tarded grip safety
>20 feet long slide
>7/8 ROUND CAPACITY
It feels as though if you want to make a 1911 design worthwhile/modern, you have to ditch almost everything that makes it a 1911 in the first place. Bushingless barrels, built-in feed ramps, double stack mags, proper sights, checkered straps,....
But then you stray a looong way from what a 1911 truly was from the get go and it doesnt make any sense anymore and you would be better off getting a modern double stack to fit your needs.
Is this a case of "never met your heroes", or should I just accept the 1911 for what it is and take it for what its worth and love it with all its downsides?
>paying 3000+ for a Nighthawk/Les Baer/Ed Brown for a decent, up-to-date take on the 1911
Yeah, nah.
tl;dr heart wants 1911, dick says M45 MEU, brain says get anything else, wat do?
>>34353689
Just get the 9mm commander length sr1911 then.
>normal length slide
>lightweight
>less recoil and cheaper ammo
>10rnd capacity

Hey /k/, will bayonets make a comeback when SHTF? For example: Clearing street gang militias out of buildings? Or if one runs out of ammo mid fight.
no. clearing buildings will consist of throwing a molotov through an opening or hiding in a bush outside the building and waiting for someone to come out so you can shoot them.
>>34353687
it would be useful if a street monkey grabs the barrel of your gun, just yank and thrust and all of a sudden youre Leonidas
>>34353699
Only works with wooden buildings.
Pipe bombs for concrete buildings.
Anybody have an indoor bullet catcher? If I filled a 55 gal drum with rubber crumbs, pushed a 9mm 1 foot deep in the crumbs, then fired straight down, would it be quiet enough?
>>34353406
yes. bullet catcher name jamal very good work
>>34353406
it's not a good idea to regularly discharge firearms in an unventilated area. most primers are made of lead styphnate

I do not expect any gases to escape

>not kicking with your shin
Yes.
Why does this exist? If we really wanted cammo stormtroopers again, why not just dust off the old clone scout armor, that shit offers the same protection and is probably just sitting in a warehouse in the outer rim somewhere.
If they wanted less encumbered troopers, why not just use the scout armor we already have? Was this just Palpatine funneling money to his buddies in the senate to feed the MIC?
ITT we talk about how the Empire wastes our tax money
Clone troopers were all fucking clones, so their armor was all made in one size only.
i guess they haven't invented spacesquats for my poor scrawny nigga
No, I'm not trying to turn my 7.62x39 into a freakin' sniper or something to that effect. I merely think the AK irons suck and I want something more open.
That being said, do I go the dust cover rail or the side mount option? What are pros/cons of each? Which is cheaper, and what optic should I mount on it?
I'm also open to suggestions about clearer irons. Wouldn't want to add unnecessary weight with a mount + scope. Honestly I might even prefer a nicer set of irons over a sight
something like this maybe?
>>34353346
Dust cover mounts suck, they don't hold zero. Go with a side rail mount
What rockwell hardness are standard Carpenter 158 BCGs?
I want to add speed holes like pic related and I have a drill press and drill press vise. I already know that I am to go slow and use lots of cutting fluid. Has anyone tried this before? Any other tips?
>>34353333
The bolt is Carpenter 158. The carrier is 8620.
>>34353333
why use drill? use gun much faster make holes entry exit very fast.
It's a case hardened material that's probably 48-52 HRC. What you're thinking of is absolute fuck-nuts stupid because they have a good amount of residual stress in them that is going to start relieving and distorting the part when you drill the holes, to say nothing of the structural aspect.
Get a TiN coated titanium BCG if you think you want a lighter weight one for some stupid raisin.
Memes and Aliens aside what would it take for something like Bolters to become a reality?
>>34353315
If you're putting aliens aside, then nothing. Bolters we're made solely because of how HUGE and obscenely strong the enemies of mankind were such as orkz and tyranids. Regular small arms wouldn't be that much effective agaisnt them
people using them would have to have the muscle mass of a truck for starters
>>34353315
why dont you explain what a bolter is so us non-virgins can answer
I'm scared to carry my g43 AIWB. What revolver should I get for deep carry (my 43 prints when my shirt comes up)
Prefer around ~$400 or so
No revolver is thinner than a g43
Get a shield or a khar c9 if you want something thinner
>>34353083
I had a Shield, it's a piece of shit and concealed worse than my 43.
>>34353102
Jesus Christ stop wearing tight clothes faggot. At least wear XL.
And stop being scared bitch I AIWB a glock 19. N I'm 5'6 190.
I'm a poorfag currently, but I've been wanting a pistol for a while now, and I found a pair of post-war P38s at a local pawn shop. my question to you all is, what are P38's like? They're so damn aesthetic and they feel really ergonomic I'd love to own one, but I'm curious about maintenance, longevity, handling, that sort of thing.
Any P-38 owners willing to enlighten me on what owning this pistol would be like? what could you use it for?
If it's a steel framed p38 and not a P1 longevity will be pretty good with 115 grain Winchester trash box. I wouldn't fire +p of NATO spec shit through it though.
Unlike the p08 they're reliable, German police units used them or derivitave of them up until the late 70s. The thick slide and fairly large grip wouldn't be optimal for cc but you could make it work. Make sure you replace the springs once you buy it, and like the beretta the locking block can fail after thousands of rounds but fortunately parts are available online from cdnn. The trigger on them range from mediocre to really fucking heavy.
>go for it OP they're a fairly modern handgun design
>>34353023
thanks for the info. if I find another steel frame and I'm good financially I'll probably go ahead and pick it up. I have german blood, I've wanted a german weapon for a long time because I just thought it would feel right. Good to know P-38s are solid reliable pistols and not shitty range toys.
>>34352961
Take a Beretta 92, remove seven rounds, and give it that weird double recoil spring. Boom, you have a P38. Really, all a 92FS is is a P38 with a conventional recoil spring, double-stack magazine, and modern controls.
Seriously though, I fucking love mine. I mean, I wouldn't carry it if I didn't. My only complaints are with regards to carry - namely, it's rather thick and heavy for a single-stack 9mm, and it doesn't particularly like JHP's. Some people don't like the European-style heel mag release, but personally I prefer it.
Otherwise, it's an incredibly solidly-built pistol. I've yet to manage to even force a malfunction with FMJ ammo. And once you get past the heavy DA trigger pull, it's really quite nice to shoot. Again, if you have any experience with Berettas, it handles and functions exactly like that.
You and the crew need a score. What do you hit? What do you kit out with? What skillsets do you want out of your crew?
I use a dodge build.

Only acceptable answer.

How are military operations named? What's the art behind it?
>>34352603
They put a bunch of names on a dart board and see which one they hit.

I assume they pick the edgiest name the officer in charge can think of.
How else do you explain Operation Gothic Serpent?
