hey guys, can I get a little info, I come here first, usually, bec. you guys know more than I do.
I found this, what looks a .22lr rifle in my house. It was a house I was renting out, my tenant has passed away, I've told his daughters to get his shit, they left all of it.
So anyway.
This Westlake air rifle, or what I could find out by googling. I dont get how it works. It breaks open at the barrel with just pressure, not button or lever. I do not know how to find ammunition for the rifle, if its even sold anymore, I do not know how to cock or pump the rifle, as I see no bolt, lever, or button.
any idea, what I can do with this besides chuck it in the garbage. The guys ex gf stole some of my things (house was partially furnished). I feel justified in keeping it now thats its been a few months and its all just sat there collecting dust.
what do with this? Any help is appreciated.
Pic related similar gun, have no phone at the moment to post a pic of actual gun.

I have one of those. I thought it was just a plain .22 pellet rifle.

It's a break barrel by the way. Take the barrel and break it down the middle at the hinge.
Redpill me on national ordinance carbines, /k/. I've wanted a carbine for awhile and found a few good deals on both period Winchester models and later NO versions. While I appreciate the history, it doesn't make or break the purchase for me, nor do most collectability details. Do I take a major hit buying an NO carbine? What should I look for and be cautious of in general?
Also M1 carbine/garand general
>>34364347
Get a USGI receiver if you can help it. National ordinance receivers were cast and 1960's casting methods are far inferior to forgings which the USGI rifles are mad of.

Have fun buying .30 carbine to feed it
>>34364347
They bought up a bunch of parts, slapped them together, and made M1 carbines. Roughly the equivalent of Century AK builds, so could be good, could be bad. Also 30 carbine costs more than it's worth these days.

Many moons ago I had to move to NJ from NYC due to economic reasons (against my will) but in the back of my mind I always want to move back to NYC. Kinda figured out since I have to move to this mud hole of a state it should be easier to legally buy a handgun. Looked into it and it’s almost or just about as bad as trying to legally get one in NYC…
Looks like I’m going to study Krav Maga and other various fighting techniques and study stick fighting since stick like objects can be procured easily for defense…
Fuuuuck me… oh well whenever I move back to NYC it’ll be easier to go there without dealing with bullshit paperwork to bring a handgun in from NJ but still these gun laws are a pain in the dick.
>>34363483
are you going to krav stick maga a mugger with a loaded gun pointed right at you and his finger on the trigger, in NYC, because criminals don't fucking care about gun laws?
>>34363483
NJ has shit laws, but NYC is worse. I'm not surprised you're retarded, since you think NYC is a good place to live.
>>34363541
No, I'm gonna hand the mugger my cash. The self defense comes in if the guy don't want cash and want to fucking kill me. Even then it's gonna be dicey.
Are you suggesting I illegally obtain a gun as well cause I'm not planning to do that.
I like the idea of a fairly heavy round of a 308 win mag or 30 06. What are the positives negatives between these 2? Are there other rounds that would have longer range capabilities?
>.308 win mag
>30 06 for long range
get out summer
>>34363308
.308 is a good marksman round and you'll get decent range out of it. Something like a .338 Lapua Magnum will get you out past 1000 yards easy but the rounds are expensive and guns chambered in .338 Lapua are also expensive.
>>34363308
You like the idea because you no clue, and you've likely been told 308 and 30-06 by ignorant fudds whose ballistic 'knowledge' came from reading an article in guns and ammo 30 years ago.

London, England. A dozen unarmed bobbies try to negotiate with maniac terrorist Mohammad Durka Mohammad. Sledge Hammer arrives on scene, gets out of his car, pulls out a huge revolver and blows the hajji away with one shot. Then he lights up a cigarette and throws out a funny one liner to the shocked bobbies. Cue title sequence. Hammer: Foreign Exchange Cop.

Homemade weapons thread. Post em.
>>34362775
Call me picky, but I only like homemade weapons built on platforms that already exist, like OPs pic. Most of the single shot or homebrew mag fed stuff is just hideous. There are some exceptions like that weird smg thing with the Walther laser, a lot of the Chinese, Vietnamese and Aussie factory builds, and occasionally a well done pistol, but mostly AK, AR, sten or other old-school repros get me off.
Sorry, I'd contribute as I was planning to but Mimi and Dropbox crash again when uploading.
>>34362775
good morning mr. atf, please note my doggo is already four years deceased
I've been working on the design parameters for the "ultimate" homemade gun
>telescoping bolt, grip fed
>dust cover/safety/charging handle arrangement stolen from an M3 Grease Gun
>collapsible or folding stock, fold-up front grip
>as concealable as possible
>as effective as possible at engaging targets when fired one handed as a pistol
>as effective as possible at engaging targets when fired two handed from the shoulder as a rifle
>must be possible to make with a dremel, a stick welder, and maybe a drill press
>final design name must be an acronym that spells some type of racial slur against black people
Does anyone else have this kind of autism?

Sidenote: how effective was the Puma? I know it had a decent gun, decent speed, and meh armor. It would have made a decent speedy tank destroyer but knowing the Germans I feel it wasn't used like that much?
>>34362745
From what I understand, the Puma was an incredibly mobile gun, capable of being rushed to defensive positions as needed in very little time
