In the movie "No Man's Land", soldiers place a bouncing mine under a dead body in order to slaughter their enemy when they try to retrieve it.
Plot twist: the guy was actually just unconscious and is now a living booby trap.
When activated, the S-mine (bouncing Betty) shoots into the air and explodes into steel balls in all directions. Video explanations here:

The conclusion in the movie by the professional engineer/defuser is that it is impossible to disarm the mine or otherwise save the guy. "This man is already dead." And they left him.
I had a discussion with a military friend about it and claimed that there MUST be a way to save someone in that situation if an abundance of resources were not in question. For example, if it was the president of a global superpower. He said it's impossible and in that case the solution is for the Vice President to take over.
It's been bothering me for a while. Surely you can tie him to a BTR, take off at full speed and insert a 10cm steel plate between the body and the mine. What does /k/ think?

will cost about 5k for the complete build, the stab proof clothing is for when an experienced knife fighter attempts to go for your brachial/radial/femoral artery, the helmet and vest are self explanatory, the titanium is there so you can take virtually limitless hits and keep going. I went for a CQB AR instead of a 15" or something because i live in an urban environment and probably wont need to take long distance shots if I'm clearing apartments or otherwise.
Did I miss anything? Any suggestions that you would add/replace?

Alright /k/, got a simple question for you about carrying a 1911 safely in condition one. I know condition one (cocked and locked) is generally considered to be the best form of carry for a 1911, but I'm curious what the safest way is to unload the weapon from a condition one state. So let's say you are carrying your 1911 in condition one and you want to clean your pistol when you get home. What's the best way to return the weapon to a safe condition four (unloaded chamber and magazine with hammer down)?

I'll bite.
Drop mag. Finger off triger, lower thumb safety. Pull slide to rear ejecting unspent round. Lock slide in rear position. Look in gapping hole in top of slide to ensure empty.

I have a SBR Glock mag AR.
Friend has the SIG.
The Sig is smoother and overall nicer, but I didn't like the pistol brace that was on it.
His suppressor hasn't come home yet, but I know the AR throws a lot of gas into my face and makes me cry sometimes.
Truth be told, I went with the AR build because I already had a large number of 9mm Glock mags of all types.
