Yeah, Trump>Hillary on 2A, no doubt.

The 1911 was made to be .45 acp. Low capacity, large diameter round. If you're going to go 9mm, get something that actually holds a decent amount of it. Don't you dare get a doublestack 1911. The grip is just right in single stack, feels like shit double stacked

I like the 92fs okay, but I detest slide mounted safeties, and a lot of people hate the first heavy trigger pull

In a dog-fight is it better to be above the enemy plane or below the enemy plane?

My friend keeps telling me it's better to be below because you can look up at them.

so what does /k/ think about side charging mods for the ar15 platform. Im seriously considering having my local gunsmith do pic related to my ar and I've been weighing the pros and cons but i need to bounce this off someone else. BTW just because someone wont realise, this is for a charging handle on the left side only and would be reciprocating

pros
>able to charge weapon without removing your sight from optics
>able to work the BCG without removing hand from trigger
>full control over BCG removing the need for a forward assist(i personally hate the forward assist)
>debatably easier and quicker to grab(really it just comes down to training)

con
>one more thing to possibly get hung up on
>adds one more place shit could get into
>depending on a highly specific situation it may hit you
>muh "fixing a problem that doesnt exist"

btw those who think it will hit you in the face or something here is a video showing someone shooting with this mod
https://youtu.be/TbRCHutbBVc

also in regards to fixing a problem that doesnt exist this isnt entirely true as every pro i listed is a con to the current rear charging system. also another example of that is people saying that about gas piston systems and that solves the problem of carbon buildup inside the reciver wich is a hell of a lot harder to clean then the gas block on the barrel

>>able to charge weapon without removing your sight from optics

Only if you're loading from closed bolt on an empty chamber, and if you're in any situation where you need to quickly aim and fire, your chamber shouldn't be empty. If you're a range ninja, it literally doesn't fucking matter. So wrong here
>>able to work the BCG without removing hand from trigger
After understanding above, there's already a bolt release lever on the side of the receiver that already lets you release the bolt without shifting your shoulder or grip. Wrong again
>>full control over BCG removing the need for a forward assist(i personally hate the forward assist)
That's not how real side charging ARs work, and if you're just welding a bolt into your bcg you need to kill yourself
>>debatably easier and quicker to grab(really it just comes down to training)
This isn't even a point. Running around with an m249 is debatably easier since you dont have to reload as often. Using a shotgun is debatably easier to aim.

tl;dr try shooting guns first before trying to be a whigger
>>
>>31958109
Paying a gunsmith to modify your charging handle from non-reciprocating to reciprocating and cutting a channel into your receiver further exposing your bolt is retarded.

Buying a non-reciprocating side charging upper like a Gibbz is Gucci, but justifiable.

I built a blow back operated AR-9 that will host a suppressor. Keeping the gas from shooting out of the back of the receiver into my face is justification for the additional $150 spent on a side charge upper.

If you get wool. Make sure it's actual wool, and not "wool" claiming chinese socks made of 90% polyester when you actually look at the fine print.
I wear wool every day regardless of the time of year or what I'm doing. My feet just feel so much better and drier. I can't stand to wear anything else at this point.

What exactly is the difference between the maverick 88 and Mossberg 500? Google said saftey's are different but is that it? Should I pocket the extra 150$ and get the 88 or is it worth it to get the 500?

Get the 88. Love mine, never had a single problem with it, and I actually prefer the safety. The biggest difference I think is it uses a different trigger so you can't switch it out for a trigger made for the 500.

Its not really that simple. I believe they have slightly different recievers, they have different barrels that they accept, the finish on the 500 is better etc. I have the 500 and like it, but your image has a 590 in it and that is honestly my preferred configuration. You get more rounds, 7.75 inch action tube (so you can use that sweet magpul furniture), and you can get it in the marine version that has really good materials. Although if you want the most versatile shotgun you should get the 500 because of the quick barrel change feature. I can run the 18.5 inch barrel for home defense all the time in the closet and then swap it out for the 28 when I want to go shoot trap.

Hello this is a gun thread and nothing else, but while you're online why don't you go to http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/ and write your congressman about some better gun laws? Now's the best time to be loud about what you want.

Anyway that's not what this thread is about because this is a weapons board.

Post some aesthetic guns

I'm pretty certain in that situation it's up to the discretion of the captain or whatever their last orders happened to be. I imagine they would likely try to find survivors in their home countries or barring that they would try to find an undamaged port somewhere.

I can't say personally, but the gel tests I've seen do certainly impress me. I'm not concerned with overpenetration, so they actually do pretty much exactly what I want.

i have a bersa combat plus & like it much

defintely needs breakin i was getting feed fails until after 150rds or so

also the top grip screws loosen & have to be tightened at the range every 25rds - this is unbelievable but true

otherwise these are low cost reliable blasters & the da/sa trigger is great

i'm only using ball ammo tho, i'm not sure about any kind of hollowpoints

Convince me to not buy a stainless Series 70 1911 or a stainless 92FS "Ghost" as my first handgun. They're the same price.

I really like my 1911, but I never like shooting the 92f, so I would say go with the 1911.
>>
>>31957013
The Beretta is more practical for virtually every situation. I would pick the 1911 though.
>>
I'd say 92fs. Less reloading at the range, cheaper ammo, and you can pretend to be John Woo if you ever get two of them.
Also stainless 1911's are for slack jaws and faggots.
