If you get wool. Make sure it's actual wool, and not "wool" claiming chinese socks made of 90% polyester when you actually look at the fine print.
I wear wool every day regardless of the time of year or what I'm doing. My feet just feel so much better and drier. I can't stand to wear anything else at this point.

Super hot climate? Cool max. Anything else. Merino wool.
>>
Usually have a liner sock from merino wool and then a thicker wool sock outside when i wear boots. Having a liner sock will reduce friction if you're going to be walking long distances. It helps a lot.

merino wool.

Smart wool is a fantastic brand but you can find real wool socks for cheaper.

Shit, that's actually a decent idea.

I have some fancy merino wool socks. If I wear them as an underlayer, it might work with thermal socks on the outside.

Pure wool wears down fast though. Somewhere between 50 and 80% is fine.

Literally just go buy Costco wool hiking socks.

>70% Merino wool
>4 pack costs as much as a single pair of SmartWool socks
>don't even need a Costco card. You can buy them on Amazon

Then I'll buy more.
It's still not pure, but it's mostly wool.

You definitely should. If you wear one sock the friction will rub on your skin, with two socks the friction will be between the two socks so it won't hurt your feet.
