What is your opinion of it? Good or trash?
>>31943023
Sucks.
Mossberg autos in general suck.
>>31943062
care to elaborate on why?
>>31943161
Not that Anon, but I'm assuming they're are speaking about their reliability. Mossbergs are terrific with pump-action.
come on its 2016, is there any reason the USN still doesn't have AESA destroyers/cruisers?
>>31942866
China's a special case.
They have the "late adopter advantage", which makes it possible to build a fleet from ground up to the newest standards.
>>31942866
It does.
>>31942866
Those things are very expensive, bro.
YPG thread
former national guardsman and ROTC student, survivalist, would like to fight for lions of rojava upon graduation from college
I'll likely graduate in the summer of 2017. Will this be too late? anyone have experience? Who else is going? Will I have to buy weapons/ munitions?
I have no combat experience but am well versed in infantry squad and platoon tactics and logistical operation. Will they let me fight? Dont want to waste my time doing a PR stunt.
ive always admired the peshmurga and struggles of kurdish people. US citizen.
can i go with a little bit of college debt?
oh yeah pic unrelated
do people still say bamp?
>>31942696
I've heard that the ypg accepts all of the help it can get. It's the peshmerga that'd try to use you as a poster boy, and they'd only accept you if you had combat experience regardless.
I had a bit of a thought with all of this talk about election-related happenings.
If you really wanted a sustainable rebellion in the US, your best bet would be an insurgency practicing guerilla warfare. For this, you would really want to arm most of your combatants with marksman or sniper rifles.
What is there on the market that would qualify as an affordable, accurate, and lightweight sniper/marksman rifle? I was especially thinking something along the lines of a scout rifle, except without that retarded forward scope mount.
Thoughts?
Bump, I'm going to try and get one at the gum show on the 19-20.
>>31942470
have you been trained as a marksman
(putting a scope on a rife doesn't make you a sniper kido)
>>31942562
Yes (well, I shoot High Power and shit), but that's irrelevant.
It's mostly just a thought experiment - "if SHTF what would be good to arm a trained militia with?"
Sorry no pic - my local Turner's ammo shelves were looking real bare. LA area here. Report in with your area and state of ammo in stores.
Prop 63: the poll numbers look bad. Really really bad. I sure hope we can get an injunction but my hopes are not high.
>>31942314
You knew this would happen.
California will always pass gun control.
Also this means the rush is beginning early - I wasn't expecting the rush to start until 63 passed. It's already on.
>>31942327
yep, everyday seems like election day for you guys.
What was your first gun?
What would you recommend as a first gun?
Picture related: it's my only gun.

What is the ideal pipe to use as a barrel? I might as well make a somewhat nice shotgun if I want it to last a while. What's a good strong pipe to use and how can I make sure it won't blow up? I usually see some kind of black seamless pipe but I don't know if there are different kinds or names for them.
use scheduled 40 to 80 seamless steel pipe
here is one source, but for that price you can get one off ebay that will be lighter probably a full choke
>https://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?pid=959&step=4&showunits=inches&id=59&top_cat=0
>>31942488
I think that is too small. The internal diameter isn't right.
>>31942743 you are right what you neede is 3/4'' pipe
what you would actually need is:
3/4'' nom scheduled 40 stainless seamless steel piipe >https://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?pid=22623&step=4&showunits=inches&id=304&top_cat=1
or
3/4'' scedual 80 stanless steel seamless pipe

Whats the point of automatic shotguns?
Why would you need that much buckshot going out? Aren't regular shotguns hardly even used in combat situations other than breaking open locked doors and CQB?

Would the military really buy it on cool points alone?
Hey /k/ i just recently got my hands on a ak74, everything looked fined when i unboxed it, taking the safety off and dust cover off and everything. All smooth, but then i noticed when i went to put the safety back on it wouldnt budge. Any solutions? It seems like its snugged on something inside or the safety is way too tight
>>31941977
Sure you're just not being a little bitch about it?
>>31941977
Pictures faggot
>>31941984
i mean any more physical strength on pulling it up im pretty sure im gonna break something
Alright /k/ I got quite a bit of questions and I think this is the best board for them. My dad gave me an old foot locker of my great-grandfathers stuff to go through because he knew I liked historic stuff. The locker was mostly antique business papers and spoons, but I did stumble on something you might like. In what appears to be an old rifle case was a disassembled trench gun. I think it is a trench gun, but I don't know much about WW1 weapons. Some background on my great-grandfather is he was a trainer pilot for the US during WW1 and he was considered too old to fly combat until a few weeks before the war ended when he was finally to deployed. He was then put on hold since the war was ending and there was no point to having more pilots.
Now to the gun itself my dad didn't know anything about. What's odd is a lot of the WW1 original trench guns is they are pictured with a heat sink and/or a bayonet while the one I have has neither. I still think it was at least produced pre-WW1 because of the markings on the barrel. The weapon also has a special flip-up sight. So now time for the questions.
Is this trench gun, and if not what is it? Was it common for pilots to have a gun like this? What's it worth? (not planning on selling it, just curious for bragging rights) How uncommon is a gun like this? What else should I know about this gun? Finally, would it be possible to still fire/use this gun and what ammo would I have to buy to find out? Keep in mind I'm no-guns currently(sticky living situation) and my gun knowledge is somewhat limited.
Gonna bump with more pics. Also its currently in the locker under a lot of other boxes I have to go through so I won't be able to get it out until tomorrow for further inspection.
>>31941887
that is a 22 not a trench gun or even a shotgun
those are fun though
Also I time stamped it just for any doubters.
What does /k/ think combat armor will realistically/plausibly look like if mankind takes it's wars with one another into the Solar System?
>>31941844
By the time warequired is taken to space, infantry warfare will be dead. There won't be body armor
>>31941844
Alot can happen in all that time so you can't really make an accurate prediction.
>>31943367
What makes you say that?
>>31941844
I honestly don't see us using giant metal tank space suits - they would be heavy to blast into space and that would cost us a lot of money and resources to get them off Earth. Probably space suits we have today mixed with modern body armor. This is just my 2 cents.
Hello /k/ I'm looking to make a basic field surgery in one of my rooms and was wondering where good places to buy tools and tricks was from and get some advice.
Now let me give you some backstory first, I'm a britbong who's surrounding towns are quite literally being overrun by savages and I don't just mean the "brown" people. But council types, Eastern European immigrants etc
And there getting closer, they no regard for human life and go around stabbing, shooting, rapping etc with no remorse.
Also with the fact that the police have taken big cuts in their buget and the hug a hoodie type mentality going on.
With these two facts combined it means that if shit hits the fan we are alone until the police/ ambulance truns up an hour late if at all. This was proven around four months ago when a group of young lads broke into a friend of my fathers house and stabbed him (the attacker was 14) and as a result him almost dying three times as the paramedics rushed him to hospital.
With the police situation they where overrun at my next town of Luton, at Luton carnival where four people was stabbed.
I've already got my house pretty defended and the street I live in are pretty close, and I believe a field surgery is the best option forward, will you help me /k/?
>Surgery
>Based on "some advice"
Stop what you're doing right now
My advice would be to consult a surgeon.
>>31941824
stuff gauze, tourniquettes, pressure, wait for first responders or drive to hospital. t. survivalist
Alright /k/, britbong here who wants some advice.
You can pick up live obsolete calibre revolvers in this country without any form of a license for around the £200 mark, yet every other form of firearm (barring outright deactivated stuff) is banned, and if you get caught with one you're fucked.
My question is this; If I were to buy one of these revolvers, where would I be able to find ammo for it? I know that obsolete ammo does exist out there, but it's apparently expensive as fuck, and very, very, very hard to find, especially on this shithole island.
I really want a gun again, and because of these backwards as fuck laws I see no other way of getting one.
>>31941770
>where would I be able to find ammo for it?
if you cant locate ammo now with the powers of the internet at your disposal you wont find ammo for it. go buy a blackpowder revolver
>>31941770
Ammo is going to be difficult to come by, as you still need a license to own the ammo. Also, once you own the ammo for an antique firearm it becomes licensable and you can no longer own it.
You could always look in to sleeving one using a .22lr barrel liner, firearm components aren't strictly prohibited in the UK.
Failing that, just go ahead and order a pistol slide, barrel, etc. from the USA where those parts are unrestricted and order yourself a frame from Germany.
You could always try your hand at modifying it to shoot centerfire cartridges and then loading some low-power black powder rounds.
