is asymmetrical warfare the ultimate evolution of war? We haven't seem to beat it since coming up with it and has proven might seems to fail in the face of it.

How do you defend against something as so decentralized and spread out as it?

You quit being a pussy and round up the trouble makers and nail them to some wood the old fashion Roman way.

Asymmetric warfare isn't new and it isn't quite effective as you would like to meme
>>
It's beaten by occupation, money, and time. Look at Columbia.

The problem is people think guerrilla warfare should be like a regular war but it's more about building up the country you're occupying so becoming a radical seems like a more shit option than trying to work within the system. Again, see Columbia.

Columbia, Which one.

Suppose Adolf wasn't a good, and appointed Rommel as his 5 Star, Field Marshal, whatever.

Hitler stuck to politics and let him run the war. How would it of gone?

Would have lost even harder. Rommel was a fucking idiot in so many ways. Just keep him as a Generalmajor commanding a panzer division.
>>
Probably even worse because Rommel was an overrated commander who only excelled at division-level command.

He's praised as a great General. I'm not even a Nazi-boo.

He BTFO off the British even tho they cracked the Enigma code.

Interesting how the Pz 5 is actually a Neubaufahrzeug, but it's probably because of how much propaganda the Germans put around it.
Anybody know why the KV-2 is just designated as "T"?
Also noteworthy is the Char B1 is French, and the Germans didn't use that many on the front lines.
>>
One more, this time on medium tanks.
They fixed the Somua part at least by calling it Ex-French.
So does anybody have more stuff like this?

>potential for capacity of 9mm, power of the average .357 Sig load

what's not to like?

I too would like to see more widespread use of .38 Mexican, and making it truly rimless may help
>>
>>32049235
They have rimless version, its called .38 super comp. You have to adjust your extractor but it will work fine.
Also I got my reloads pushing 1500 fps with a 124gr bullet.
>>

>.38 super comp

I'd shorten that to .38 comp, massproduce it

then introduce the Glock 44 with a 17+1 capacity

To me they seem like a great idea. Pic related is a mordernized FG-42 replica made by some Kraut company

IMHO not a better idea than a bottom mag. A bottom mag can be designed to fall off by itself for a faster reload, also less cluttering on the weapon; in other words the bottom has already the grip and the trigger, so you can keep the gun flanks flat and snag free, and gain even compactness.

tl;dr bottom is a better design.

Note how far back the action can be while still having the magazine in a handy location. According to Ian-San-Sama-Senpai FGs are actually very nicely balanced even with a full mag.

Ergonomy reasons I guess. If you make a large magazine it becomes unwieldy as fuck

I'm in the market for a first hunting rifle for south Texas. Mainly aiming to kill hogs and durr. I'd prefer .308, but any hunting caliber such as .22-250, .243, and even .223 may work.

I've been debating between

>Savage 11 Scout
>CZ 527 or 550
>Ruger American
>Weatherby Vanguard/Howa 1500
>Tikka T3
>Browning X-Bolt

While I'd prefer to keep the price low, around or under $600. I also would like it to have irons as well, but it's not a deal breaker.

>>32048930
Tikka is an excellent rifle for the price.
How's or Savage are close second, and my first hunting rifle was a Savage Axis II in .308
>>
>>32048939
I like the Tikka, but I preferred the Browning X-Bolt's feel. That said, the wood stock on the Tikka felt much better.

I'm a little picky, I don't exactly like my bolts feeling sticky or odd like on the Ruger American. Something about the bolt just felt off... but it's not a dealbreaker, especially at the price.
>>
>>32048930
If you don't mind used you can find a savage 10 at a pawn shop for cheap, they usually have a cheap scope on them but you could upgrade that. Plus I know some of them have iron sights.
That's how I got my savage 110 for $275

Hey guise, I live in South Africa so we have limited selection of fancy gun lubes.

I own a Glock 19 Gen 3. I've read up that some people use 10w 40 synthetic oil to lube their guns. I bought some today and the action feels very smooth.

Does anyone here have any experience with using motor oil as a lube? Will it gunk up?

>>
Shameless self bump
>>
>>32048874
I've lurked many threads dealing with this. The consensus was, transmission fluid is the best. What you're using will work though.
>>
I would venture so far to say oil is oil. Motor oil should be a solid choice simply due to the environment it is normally used in. If it prevents metal to metal contact and provides lubrication, why not?

The only downside I could think of it may not provide consistent lubrication. Since the temperature in a gun isn't going to be as consistent as a vehicle. So, it will be constantly in between different viscosities.

If you clean your gun on the reg I don't think oil fouling will be an issue.

Would US carriers even work against a non-third world country? I get the idea is to park a few off your enemies coast and gain air superiority or use them to wreck your enemies fleets. But I just can't see an F16 or whatever going up against a Gripen, Typhoon or Rafale. Let alone a destroyer with modern AA.

>>
F-16's on a carrier? I didn't know this was Ace Combat. Realistically a pack of Growlers with some regular super hornets could wreck alot more than you think OP. Not even gonna open the F-35 can of worms. Also why are we attacking a country with gripens and typhoons? I agree though, against a theoretical world power like Russia or China, they'd probably be used more for pushing in the enemy fleet's shit in blue water areas.
>>
>>32048785

The problem is your carrier based F16. It can't land or take off, so you're right.
>>
Why do faggots always talk about USN ships like they're just steaming around solo in a war? The entire fucking doctrine is based around CBG's.

not a fair comparison. the AR in it's modern flat top incarnations is a rifle meant to be heavily accessorized. the AN-94 and AKs with side rails are not can't be. It's always an afterthought and mostly in the way. AK types are meant to be used with irons. the best "uprgrade for an AK would be better sights (ghost ring etc.) and better triggers.

/nogunz/ fag here

Not new to weaponry in general, always grew up shooting, but I currently am a poor student looking to start/expand his arsenal.

My budget is ~$800, I'm looking for suggestions on purchases to make.

I'm looking at picking up a Winchester Model 1300 12ga for $200 from a local place. I figured a shotgun is probably my best bet for a jack-of-all-trades weapon to start with. Maybe $100 invested in some ammo for it, leaves me with $500 to work with. I'm still not sure though, I'm interested in hearing others opinions.

Main purpose of the weapon(s) would be for home defense, but I'd like to be able to take it on long innawoods trips with me and feel confident it could put down damn near anything that could threaten me.

basically
>I have $800
>I have nogunz

Anything that you intend to use for combat should to be semi-automatic and magazine fed. If you intend to take large game, a .308 is in the ball park. You are describing a battle rifle.

PTRs and FALs are relatively cheap. If in Canada, an M1A will be cheap.
