I've always run Polymer mags since I got a good deal on PMAGs a while back, but recently I picked up a bunch of USGI steel mags (they have the magpul followers but are not Teflon coated). I was wondering, will USGI mags scratch up the inside of the mag well? Especially if they're not Teflon coated wont the metal on metal wear the anodizition off the inside of the receiver/magwell leading to rust?
>>32072658
Aluminum doesn't rust.It can oxidize, but the oxidization isn't harmful to the structure. It might wear the finish, but if you were worried about you're stuff staying pristine and perfect, you should have gotten into a different hobby.

Yes op. Gi mags will almost wear the finish in the magwell right away. Deal with it. It's a tool. Wear adds character. Overtime a pmag will wear the finish off anyway. Takes longer but it will.
A nice thing about gi mags or at least the Brownells ones is you have a tiny bit more room inside the mag body for heavy bullets. I can use 75 grain hornady loads without dragging inside the body.
How retarded is the concept of bugging out? Like, in an extraordinary condition like a hurricane, tornado or whatever is understandable, but don;t fucking lie and say that most "preppers" are preparing for natural disasters.
also thoughts on the ARX?
"bugging out" is great if you can get out before the crowds, have a final destination, and dont have anything to look after like a business, multiple properties, or things that make it more difficult to bug out with like large cattle or something.
Having said that, do what you want, i live in a very urban area that almost meets the mega-city criteria. If im not able to leave before the rest of the city does, i dont leave. Tried that before and spent 6 hours on the interstate to move 45 miles.
better to stay home.
>>32072538
its more of a hobby, and it also feels good man knowing that you have a cozy bunker to chill in if shit ever goes south, but mostly its just for feeling safe.
I always thought bugging out was kind of dumb. If it's gotten so bad that you're leaving all your shit and living out of a bag, what makes you think the other thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of people won't do the same?
Wherever you're bugging out to is just going to turn into a giant refugee camp.

Never heard of Canik, never heard that rumor.

Anyone else ramped up their ammo purchasing in the past two weeks?
>>32071459
Yes, but only because I keep finding great deals on 5.56.
I am not scared of liberal riots. They eventually tucker themselves out after wrecking the local businesses.
>>32071476
This and on 7.62. Cabela's goes crazy with their mark downs and I work there so I get another 15% off.

Lol ever since Zim zam I've been waiting. I have almost 40 garand clips loaded, 20 at mags including a 100 round surefire mag, 30 AK mags, and a shotgun with thirty rounds in and on it. Plus body armor and pistols and shit. My area will be defended.

i have a 16 inch AR-15 in 5.56, and i have 4 types of ammo
>m193
>m855
>.223 55 grain soft point
>.223 50 grain hollowpoint
which round should i use for home defense ammo?
>>32071354
Probably the 55gr softpoint.
I'm assuming they're the Hornady Spire Point. If so they're pretty good.
I have m193s in my magazines.
Will second the 55 grain soft point, the m193 would be good enough at home defense ranges out of a 16 inch though and cheap as well.
Stay away from m855 unless you live out in the sticks. The intermediate barrier penetration is just fine for other situations but not home defense and m193 is more effective if you aren't shooting through windshields.
Hey /k/ I'm looking for a set of night vision goggles and I found these.

I don't think there is allot of market in bong land for night vision.
thanks for the pic though, do you own night vision?
I'm joining the French military soon.
I am a citizen, 20 years old, I've been lifting for 2 years so I'm reasonably fit. Aiming for a Paratrooper regiment.
Any general military advice/French military advice in particular is appreciated.
Go NCO or officer. Whatever the cirfa tell you.

Can I still NCO if I don't have the Bac? I live in South Africa and did the English Cambridge A-levels for highschool.
Which african nations could wage an actual war against each other and not that tribal warfare shit?
>>32071026
South Africa to get Namibia back, also North African nations like Egypt
>>32071045
Uhm, only subsahara nations. What about Ethiopia?
>>32071074
None. Most would be capable of maybe an initial attack with a organized military force but they couldn't keep it up long without the support of irregulars.
I think it's that time of the day we need ourselves a spooky/innawoods thread. I'll be starting off by telling the story of my dream last night. Feel free to post your own.
>>32070954
This might be the souls taken by the guns I just bought haunting me, but all I dreamt about last night was hunting skinwalkers and running through wal-Mart trying to escape my friends whom I ended up shooting at the time in my dream.
>be me
>get 2 mosins in the mail yesterday
>one for myself, one for my brother
>get told my '44 model has a 90% chance it killed a nazi or two
>go to sleep all giddy and full of joy to go shoot it next weekend
>Dream time
>I'm suddenly sitting in my family room cleaning my gun, and there's live ammunition sitting there
>I hear a noise outside, something like heavy clomps of footsteps
>I look around, realize I'm home alone, and I proceed to load my mosin
>peak out the back window
>dark, shadowy figure looking much like the OP image
>I take a shot, it goes over it's shoulder
>I hear it swear, and then it takes a shot back
>thefuck.jpg
>turns out it was my dad, coming back home at 3 AM from hunting
Part 1/(i'm guessing) 3
My mosin for anyone interested
>>32070988
Part 2/??
>I go back to cleaning/fingerfucking the gun after I somehow talk my dad out of not confiscating it from me
>I hear another creak in the house
>turn around, and see this giant 6'6" shadowy figure just out of the light source, about 8 feet away
>fug
>I'm frozen with fear, mosin in hand
>I slowly load up one bullet
>the creature is standing around, it looks like it's sniffing
>I slowly close the bolt, and when it heard the click of the bolt going closed, looked directly at me
>it starts to move towards me
>I quickly turn and hip fire the mosin at it
>it's not as loud as I thought
>the creature shrieks and lurches back
>I'm pretty sure I killed it
>nope.jpg
>it walks back into the light
>the shadowy demon I've been seeing is revealed to be my friend, who apparently came over also at 3 AM
>fug
>he proceeds to yell about how I just shot him, and I take him upstairs to clean up his wound (got grazed in the shoulder)
>pic related is what the shadow outline looked like
>>32071024
fuck you I said this was a dream.
>>32071029
part 3/??
>take my friend up to my room
>clean up his shoulder
>blood's looking a little blacker and thicker, but that's probably gunpowder residue on the wound, since it was so close range
>once he's all cleaned I tell him to either sleep in the spare bed or go home
>we both go to sleep
>I wake up to another fucking sound
>luckily mosin is right beside me in bed, like always
>look at my friend
>he's not there
>what the fuck
>again, I hear a noise, it's coming out of my closet
>I slowly ready my nugget as I see this figure rise out of it
>looks like a mix of OP's image and part 2's image
>I fucking finally aim for center mass and put glorious soviet boolit downrange
>it connects and the creature doubles over in pain and screams
>I affix my bayonet and pin him to the wall
>black tar-like blood oozing out of it's stomach
>I finally fucking killed it
There was more, but okay, fuck you guys too.
Why is stainless such a bad choice for swords? There seem to be an awful lot of stainless knives
>>32070801
>Why is stainless such a bad choice for swords?
Because it's too brittle and breaks easily compared to tempered carbon steel.
>There seem to be an awful lot of stainless knives
Stainless is fine for knives because, ideally, you're not hitting them against things like you might be with a sword.
>>32070801
Depends on where they're made and by who. Stainless steel either means the bare fucking minimum in steel processing or someone actually went through the effort to forge folded and tempered steel and applied a stainless process.
>>32070889
>>32070908
You two idiots know that there are various different types of stainless steel for various different applications, just like there are literally thousands of different typed of carbon steels, alloy steels, aluminum, and copper alloys?
Some stainless steels are barely tougher than butter, while others are made for cutting. The problem with most stainless steel swords is that they're made in China with the lowest grade stainless steel possible.

Write an road map for the Newly created European Armed Forces. Air Sea and Land.
The European Union as it is as of today, with its economy, trade partners, geography and demographics.
