hey /k/ will a USSR or Warsaw pact tank helmet make for decent ear protection for shooting?

This is exactly why I love this board.
/k/, I need your advice. Say, I'm in a country that allows use of sidearms for personal defense, but the law only allows using revolvers with round equal to or less than 9mm in caliber. So, what's the most modern, high-speed low drag revolver on the global market?
>>32802558
Well does it go by energy or bullet size? If its bullet size get a .357. You looking for a revolver for carry or home defense? Makes a huge difference
>>32802575
Carry. The law says "no caliber higher than 9mm". I don't think the energy matters at all in legal terms, could be some hot-loaded monstrosity for all they care. It's just the caliber that matters.
>>32802595
Then 357 brother, look at a snub. Id recomend a ruger sp101. Also one of the smith and wesson ultralights might be to your liking.
Cant find the pastebin edition
What is your grail atm?

Hats that fit.
And Gerwitz, that guy definitely knew that was an airborne shirt.
Why is ww2 gear so much comfier than modern stuff in wintertime?
>>32802545
I'm pretty salty one of us didn't get it...
I did get this though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/311784867994?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
this is different from all the commericial and issue uniforms Ive seen, it looks like the tag says its IR treated which seems excessive for a commercial item.

What does /k/ think of the Stgw 57 as a first battle rifle?
Some videos:

My only problem is how ugly it is.
>>32802208
>ugly
idk it looks pretty decent

>as a first battle rifle
- Heavy so if you're a manlet you'll suffer
- GP11 ammo is expensive and little difficult if you're not in Switzerland.
Basically, if you're swiss and fit, it is a good main weapon.
Prone shooting? It's fucking great.
Run & gun? You're going to be tired as fuck pretty fucking quick.
You also better be right handed.
What prototypes do you think Glock hides in their vaults?
probably like a glock in a different caliber, and one with a different length slide, and then another glock with a prototype slide texture that was diagonal instead of vertical. then maybe one with a prototype trigger that was complicated but the simplified it for mass production later. then one with an integral laser. all the possibilities, man.
>>32802107
I heard a rumour the engineers were dying to launch a pistol carbine, but Gaston says no.
>>32802107
They have a handgun with a polymer slide
All I hear about this gun are good things. And like all good sounding things, they're usually too good to be true. Besides the grip looking like an oversized package of tootsie rolls, and ergonomics that Look, I repeat, LOOK, like a 5th graders sketch of what a gun looks like, what are the negatives of this gun? Also, looking for the classic version (euro mag release) to be my first fun.
Also, if everything is so great about this gun, why isn't there as much worship as GLAWK. It sounds like everything good about a Glock, but even better.
> muh lower boar axissss
> muh erginomicks
> muh triggar
Why is this gun not praised as the holy grail of striker fired hi-cap polymer handguns?
On a final thought, why during import of these guns, does S&W take the nice metal sights off these and replace them with cheap plastic sights? I'm guessing due to them having some stock into the aftermarket sight market.
I have a Walther PPQ for over 2 years now and love it so much that I sold my Glocks because they were sitting unused. Glock hump bothered me on extended shooting sessions and the trigger was very meh. I actually like the looks of the gun but thought it could've been better by keeping the older Walther P99 grip frame with a better stippling job.
The bore axis on the Walther PPQ is actually higher than the glock, You will hear about the PPQ have more felt recoil from reviewers and that's because the upper (slide/barrel) maintains the most weight which can overpower the stock recoil spring. I bought this DPM recoil reduction system kit which uses 3 springs to lowers muzzle flip and there is a noticeable difference. My sights are falling on target quicker and I'm shooting significantly faster than before.
Ergonomics and trigger are amazing for me personally but ergonomics is extremely subjective so the newer P320 grip modules may actually be the "best" in terms of ergonomics because there are no finger grooves, palm swells, or humps that may offend picky shooters.
As to why Walther PPQ isn't more popular? Walther is a small company and I wish would do a better job in marketing and aggressively going after contracts to establish themselves like Berreta, Glock, HK, or Sig. People who are looking for a striker fired gun probably don't know enough to put the Walther PPQ on their list of options to check out. You should have seen their shitty rap video introducing that new Walther Creed pistol. It got such a huge negative feedback they pulled that video within a day.
>>32801440
Modern Walthers are toys. The only reason you hear good things is because there are a lot of Walther fanboys that need to defend their purchase.
>>32801440
just as a point of reference they still make the M1, the paddle release version, the superior model, but import it in lower numbers. I bought one last year. it's neat. real nice trigger. grip feels fantastic. also very late in the P99's life cycle they slightly altered the mags which will work perfectly in this gun, so you can buy those from mecgar if you want.
I think part of their lack of market presence is a lesser attempt at marketing compared to competitors and also less fanboys to push their guns on internet forums.
His works are pretty interesting, although I don't see much of a use for them, except for the upper receiver he designed.
His GB-22 pistol is neat looking for an improvised gun.

So.... which system is better? They both seem like they're pretty much the same fucking thing as far as function goes.... so what gives with all the retarded fighting between the fanboys of these two systems?
they're goddamn identical.
a company makes mounts that fit both.
>>32800379
They function the same. It's all about the looks.
Speaking of which, Mlok looks best.
>>32800379
They're functionally identical. Keymod is a bit lighter, but looks like costco shelving. Mlok looks better.

I have a M24/47 Mauser. I've been running regular 8x57 in it, but I've read that I need to use 7.92. I've had some feed issues, but that appears to be from a defect in the feed lips that pushes rounds into the side of the chamber as I run the bolt. I've also have had trouble opening the bolt after shooting a bit. What do I need to be shooting?
8x57 and 7.92x57 are the exact same caliber. Sounds like you just need to do a thorough cosmoline purge, those 24/47's tend to be caked.
8x57mm = 7.92x57mm = 7.9x57mm = "8mm Mauser".
Like >>32799381 you probably need to clean out some cosmoline. Also, don't shoot that new-production Romanian stuff with the green sealant; it's shit.
Probably is some cosmo. But there's also a lump in the metal lips that pushes rounds on the left into the right face of the chamber. Just a quirk of my girl, I guess. Like a chick with a penis.
Alright /k/. All dickwaving aside, whats your favorite gun(that you own)?
It doesnt have to be the best, the most expensive, the most reliable, or the most historic, it just has to be the one gun in your collection that brings you the most happiness.
Pic related is mine.

My joy in life.
>>32799076
I'll be that guy. I love my m1. I love shooting it at 200+ yards slow fire. I love mag dumping it into shut 10 yards away. And I love field stripping and cleaning it. Couple that with the history and it is my favorite rifle
