It's been unscientifically proven that a lack of (you)s for writers can lead depression, alcoholism, story abandonment, and an hero.
But it's so easy to make a difference in a writer's life. Just one (you) a day can make the difference between a happy writer and a writer on permanent hiatus.
Please, post now. Help make a writer's day.

It's still weird seeing my cap pop up in threads...
So i've recently finished building my ar-15 and now am in a market for an optic.
Shortly put, i'm torn between a fixed 3x or a 1-6x scope. Current budget is around 500 dollars. I was originally going to buy a reddot for it, but i do have a pretty bad astigmatism that prevents any red dots from being useful past 50 yards.
Any suggestions?
In that price range, Strike Eagle

Steyr's copy of the Walther PP. Neat little gun.
It was basically a double-action-only copy of the Walther PP. Not very successful on the commercial market.
Okay so I want suggestions for Full or Compact size pistols. 9mm or .45, preferably double stack, paddle mag release preferable.
>have small hands
>lefty
Been trying to find a Hi-power to look at for a while but have yet to find a place that has any.
Looked at a fullsized usp .45 and a cz75 compact at the gunstore yesterday. Really liked the usp, grip was pretty comfortable and the paddle mag release was nice. Their marketing department might have influenced that as well.
The 75 compact was okay but nothing spectacular.
Main issue is I cannot work the slide stop well, its a bit of a reach and hard to actuate without changing grip. If I had more time with them I could probably get better, but I only had a few minutes.
Just some things I am considereing
>CZ clones
>Canik tp9sa/tp9sf elite s with paddle mag release
>1911
>USP/USP compact
>walther/HK striker fired gun? idk much about them
>inb4 someone posts a baby browning or kolibri
>>32816507
Just get some pocket .380 with some riced up bullets.
Also is the slide release really that important to use as long as you are not a super tactical operator? I could probably get away with the full size USP if I just manually rack the slide.
I know lots of pistols for people with small hands, but because you posted a tasteless picture of the God-Emperor, I won't help you. I think most people on this board will treat you the same way.

It should be perfectly legal to kill anyone who invades your home. Derek should never have gone to prison.
It should be perfectly legal to kill anyone on your property without permission.

What does /k/ think of pikal knives?
As a Cucked Californian, a gun is not an edc option for the time being.
From what I understand the pikal is a bit of an odd duck for fighting, given its unconventional grip.
I have read that it can be very devastating when used properly as it utilizes the body's muscles in pulling a pulling motion, rather than a weaker pushing or stabbing.
Is this bs? Or does it bear some legitimacy?
>>32815266
From a physiological standpoint there's some merit to that statement. If you think about the muscles used to cut with a conventional blade they're generally smaller and weaker than your lats.
That being said that's not the main reason to carry a pikal knife. If you look at the Shivworks Alumni facebook page there are some videos showing how the edge orientation is useful for preventing someone from disarming you of your knife or for protecting a gun in the holster.
Also the theoretical range disadvantage of the edge-in orientation is smaller than people think when you're in a close range confrontation. Standing back and poking someone in the heart with your bowie simply doesn't happen in the real world. If you watch videos of real-world stabbings there's a lot of clinching and grappling to try and control the weapon, and people who fail to do that tend to die.
looks like its too short to do anything at the same time too bulky and awkward to use as a tool for cutting fruit or boxes open. you know the thing you actually use carry knives for.
>>32815360
Interesting. So it seems like there are more benefits for someone who could end up in a confrontation than I though. Especially given I don't live anywhere rural where a traditional knife would offer more utilitarian benefits.
One concern I did have was what to do if I end up grabbed or punched on the ground. It's reassuring to know that a pikal could give me an advantage in that scenario.
my friend keeps talking about this weapon attachment he calls a up dog
I really want to get him this up dog for him where can one get a updog
Call the ATF, they'll get you a down dog. It's almost as good.
