I have a M24/47 Mauser. I've been running regular 8x57 in it, but I've read that I need to use 7.92. I've had some feed issues, but that appears to be from a defect in the feed lips that pushes rounds into the side of the chamber as I run the bolt. I've also have had trouble opening the bolt after shooting a bit. What do I need to be shooting?
8x57 and 7.92x57 are the exact same caliber. Sounds like you just need to do a thorough cosmoline purge, those 24/47's tend to be caked.
8x57mm = 7.92x57mm = 7.9x57mm = "8mm Mauser".
Like >>32799381 you probably need to clean out some cosmoline. Also, don't shoot that new-production Romanian stuff with the green sealant; it's shit.
Probably is some cosmo. But there's also a lump in the metal lips that pushes rounds on the left into the right face of the chamber. Just a quirk of my girl, I guess. Like a chick with a penis.

Post pic of lump.

Kinda hard to see. Note the line of unblued metal.

That's perfectly normal.

Check the ammo. Even some bullets out of the box have oil/cosmoline one them that cause them to stick to the chamber after firing. I've discovered this with Hotshot Romanian ammo.
