1 Killed in action, 6 wounded and a V22 destroyed. All for some Intel.
Was their mission successful?

Do you guys think the FBI monitors /k/ or /pol/ more?
It's the same people monitoring this whole website.
Neither. They probably only archive everything so they have the ability to do an investigation after the fact.

Now that the Beretta M9 is officially on track to be phased out, the Department of Defense must now dispose of several hundred thousand of the pistols. Please, I encourage you to contact your representatives and advocate that the pistols be transferred the the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). This transfer can only be done through an act of Congress, and my hope is that at one point civilians will be able to buy $250 M9s from the CMP. At one point the CMP sold 1911s to civilians, so this is not unheard of. Also, tell your reps to clear the several hundred thousand M1 Garands sitting in storage in Korea to be cleared for re-importation and transfer to the CMP. Its time to bring the boys back home!
We sold those Garands to the North Koreans.

Hey K bros, I have been angerly thinking about buying a cold steel saber or cutlass (or more probably a cutlass machete, because done been broke as donkeys dick in a pagan festival).
Convince me to do so, or NOT to do so, and if not, please provide a different option taking into account how easy it is to find proper use info and praticality while violently engaging hostiles.

OP honestly, just do yourself a flavor and pick up a handmade katana. Not some machine made shit your looking at now. Standard blades can't even compete. I'm talking about true blue Damascus Steele Nip shit.
That shit is folded over 6 million times.
You ever folded metal. Yea it's a pain in the ass, but now imagine doing it over and over again for millinia like true Japanese blacksmiths have done. If I ever saw someone with a cutlass coming at me I'd grab my trusty blade and cut there fucking sword in half just to show them what a pussy they are. I got my katana in an auction on eBay for a steele of a deal at $1700. Never again will I be defenseless. I usually carry it with me concealed in my car so it's never too far away. Trust me on this and make the right decision.
some guys on the internet told me CS a shit

Really lacking in funds for something like that at this point...
How does one use camo effectively in a modern city setting?
Do you make a ghilie suit out of garbage you'd find in a street trashcan?
I'm serious btw.
What is it, a block suit made to look like modern art?
To paint yourself like a roman statue?
Ninja costume?
do pick related
>paint self grey
>pretend to be a statue
>nobody will be any the wiser
Hell you could do it to a whole infantry squad and pass it off as a elaborate modern art piece
>>32852840
Modern art block suit would work, but that has its issues as to why the fuck is the art moving.
Ghillie suit of trash is a creative one that would work well.
But ultimately it isn't exactly needed. Camo is used for when you don't have cover or could be spotted from long distance. You make yourself part of the environment as you have no part of the environment to duck behind. This all changes innacity as you have fuck tons of cover all around you.
Shit, something like the batman suit would work perfectly if you put a grey, white and black pattern on it.
>armored
>blends into night
>quick escapes
>easily can make your own cover with grapple over a wall or something
>ninja quiet
It would need some modification to really meet your needs, but the concept is really functional for innacity operating.

So now that a decent nugget is $250-300, I've been looking for another milsurp bolt-action to buy. I found a sale on 1916 Spanish Mausers - $179 for the 7mm version, and $199 for ones rechambered in .308. That's pretty dang cheap… in fact, suspiciously so. Does anyone know anything about these raifus? What kind of shape are they in? Keep in mind, I'm a shooter, not a collector, so they don't have to be pristine or have all matching parts to make me happy - they just have to be reasonably accurate and not blow up in my hands.
Also, if I get the 7mm version, how does the ammo situation look? I Googled it and it seems like there's a pretty decent supply of it at okay prices. Is there any reason that any of the stuff here wouldn't work? http://www.midwayusa.com/7x57mm-mauser-7mm-mauser/br?cid=9338
Anyhow, here are the listings:
7mm: http://www.jgsales.com/spanish-1916-mauser-bolt-action-short-rifle,-7x57,-good,-used.-p-80642.html
.308: http://www.jgsales.com/spanish-1916-mauser-bolt-action-short-rifle,-308-7.62x51,-good,-used.-p-93845.html
Thanks, anons

The catch is they are beat up.
>>32852789
But the question is beat up how? Beat up as in cosmetically imperfect, beat up as in doesn't work right, or beat up as in dangerous to the operator?
>>32852835
first 2
3rds kinda true about the 308s since they only like a certain type of ammo
So just how hard is it to actually make working particle guns? For decades many groups have been trying it and while there are stories of working particle guns, there's very little evidence or footage of them while railguns and high energy lasers are now being used by the navy.

Okay so my initial question is....Is there a point of getting plates or Kevlar B.A.? I have the urge to buy some but even I can't justify it.
Also I like pet projects so out of curiosity,

As a matter of fact I saw this just yesterday.

$30
pistol plates

Might make some myself.
TLDR;
DIY plates made from fibreglass fabric sandwiched with epoxy
the justification is if you're arround guns other people with guns frequently, because other people are dumb and have accidents (or negligence, as autistic people call it). So if you work at a range or something, I would buy them. also if you're a terrorist. if you're neither of those things, forget it.

Terrorists don't need body armor. If anyone sees a terrorist at all he's already failed at his job.

The jury has found Allen “Lance” Scarsella guilty of on all 12 counts of assault and rioting in the shooting of five protesters outside the Minneapolis Police Department Fourth Precinct in November 2015.
After listening to two straight weeks of witnesses, testimony and evidence, the jury had to determine whether the shooting was an intentional act of hate and violence, as the prosecution contends, or whether it was an act of self-defense, as Scarsella himself testified.
“He needs not prove, but show he went there legitimately. He has the right to bear arms. He did not choose this fight. The fight came to him. And he did what he thought he had to do,” Steve Meshbesher, a veteran criminal defense attorney not connected to the case, told Fox 9.
Prosecutors contend Scarsella is a racist and a gun and military enthusiast who went to the volatile Fourth Precinct protest to antagonize the demonstrators.
They showed the jury a live stream video Scarsella and a friend had posted on the internet days before the confrontation.
Other evidence included some of Scarsella’s text messages that appeared to show a desire to shoot black people
"We are pleased with the jury’s guilty verdict against Allen Scarsella today. As I said at the time we charged Mr. Scarsella and his companions, the racist language he used in the videos and on social media is just not acceptable and the actions he took as a result of those racist beliefs were heinous. The jury obviously saw it the same way.

Hi, /k/
Any vets around? I'm very interested in talking to vets about their experiences in the service and afterward. I'm particularly interested listening to experiences in combat, though if you have no direct combat experience that is okay too. I'm just wondering if any Iraq/Afghanistan veterans might be willing to share some of their experience with me. Full disclosure, I have no political slant or agenda and I am free of any bias or prejudice. I just want to listen and maybe ask some questions. This is merely for my own interest. My hobby is writing and with permission I'd also be interested in potentially using vet stories as a basis to practice my writing. (Of course any requests for recognition or anonymity would honored). If you care to email me, it would be appreciated: tmij888 @ gmail. com Of course feel free to share anything here or ask me questions if you prefer. Thanks

>>32852324
This question gets asked so much tho my most likely younger friend.
I myself saw some combat, but it's not like we always want to repeat stuff. Might I suggest you lurk the archives? Myself and others have told plenty.
Not trying to be rude. I respect your general interest, but clearly you could see my point of view, I hope.
Not only that but nothing pisses you off more when you actually decided to share and some pipsqueak says "yeah right" because they don't believe we actually post here. Again many stories on archives including some of my own.
>Not only that but nothing pisses you off more when you actually decided to share and some pipsqueak says "yeah right" because they don't believe we actually post here. Again many stories on archives including some of my own.
I appreciate your position. Though Rest assured that would not be me to cast doubt. I'll check the archives though I'd prefer the option to ask my own questions, not to come across as a special snowflake. Thanks.

Military Scenario thread (2017 tech levels)
You're the President of Mexico, and the right-wing Nationalist President of the USA just threatened military intervention into your nation in response to the ongoing drug trade. Normally you have been united as partners in the war on drugs, but this escalation is unprecedent. The Potus has suggested using American airpower to strike targets in Mexico. knowing the history of American Air strategy and counter-insurgency, you are wary of unacceptable collateral damage that will occur to civilians and infrastructure. You and your cabinent are extremely opposed to this violation of sovereignty, and the Senate of the Republic directed you to staunchly protect Mexican airspace has secretly approved an emergency $14.5 billion Mexican pesos (700M USD) for the aquisition of Anti Air systems, and an additional $7.2B (3.5M USD) can be divested from the existing military budget. you expect broad international support for your cause, and the most powers are open to Arms trade with your nation. Purchases from the USA may become stopped or withheld entirely. What weapon systems do you buy, and what is your strategy?

drawing from my extensive knowledge of ruling small countries from the hearts of iron series
I would immediately give myself and country over to russia/china (whoever bites first) and invite whatever military force they wish to station in mexico
>>32852070
China can probably offer you the most and provide the most economic benefits afterwards.
>>32852118
China is too poor for any serious commitment. Russia is even poorer, but they don't mind ruining their economy. It's just they're already too comitted in Ukraine, Syria, and a few other countries to get involved in a confrontation with the USA right now.
