I've decided to buy a Coonan but I'm not sure which to get. The Classic full size or the Compact? Let's talk pros and cons. Help me /k/.
Full Size:
>Comes with extra grips
>Additional spring kit allows you to also shoot 38 special
>Much heavier than compact
>Front heavy/feels unbalanced in my hand.
>More comfortable to shoot high power 357 loads plus greater velocity
Compact
>more aesthetically attractive IMO
>Lighter/ Better balance
>357 magnum only
>More expensive
>Comes with extra magazine
Also let's just make it a general 357/38 guns and ammo discussion thread. 357 is my favorite cartridge.

full-size for maximum coon capping
not sure what it is. a lot of people say they look like bricks but i think theyre sexy as fuck and they actually feel pretty comfortable in my hand. that long thin grip actually points pretty naturally.
>>32796221
Go for a full size
So /k/ recently I've been really into civil war era shit and I figured it would be fun to own a civil war era musket.
I figure they're expensive as all fuck but I was wondering you guys had any experience procuring such a specimen?
Mainly curious about the:
1861 springfield
1863 springfield
lorenz
1853 enfield
so yeah any one have any tips on muskets or anything? I only own a nugget which i take for plinking but I figure that a musket isn't some shit I can just have shipped to a local gun store and pick up there.
pic related i fuckin love this thing.
>>32795912
have you tried google dot fuckin com?
>>32795912
should be the same as just about buying anything else, no real gimmicks. Though since those are historical expect to pay a lot for them.
>>32795974
Alright cool
Mainly I wanna make sure i'm not buying a dud so if anyone knows how to identify a fucked up garbage can vs quality shit that'd be helpful
FUND IT.
>>32795294
They already made one: it was called Spec Ops: The Line.
That said, I'd be interested to play one that was actually good.
Since op is useless, here's a link

Sounds terrible
Enter the word "handgun" in google image search. Starting with the first image count as many images as you are years old. This pistol is now your cc piece. How fucked/unfucked are you?
>pic related
Could've done better, but also could've done wayy worse..
>>32795265
there are worse guns
>>32795265
I'd be ok with a Glock 32. .357 SIG is bretty good
>>32795265
Not a fan of Glocks, but not bad. Not bad at all.
Lets have a thread to celebrate the most advanced and powerful tank ever invented. 20 years more advanced than the next best main battle tank.
>>32795072
>20 years more advanced than the next best main battle tank.
Subtle.
>>32795150
OP is right. Say what you want about Russia but their tanks are a fucking work of art. The only tank I see coming close is the new German Leopards.
T-14 a shit and ugly
Let me know when Russians go back to beautiful dome turrets and actually test their shit in combat

That sucks that they were only able to import guns for 8 months before being shafted by Bush 41. While Norinco was still allowed to import firearms until 1994.
What's the first AK you'll buy when sanctions are removed from Russia, /ak/?

God damn it, I can't win.
In with PSA branded D&H mags. Buy 'em cheap, stack 'em deep.
Need help identifying a gun.
Says it's a Smith and wesson and that its appreciated value is about 170 USD, might be a bit cheaper if it would have been in USA.
So what is it and how much is it worth?
>>32794633
thats a schofield
That's the old pinfire black powder type anyway. Will blow in your face if you manage to put a modern round into it. Around here that makes it free to sell and buy without registering. An interesting item to own but not an investment. Care to take a pic of the top, where the text should be?
>>32794648
You sure? What calibers did the schofield come in? It said this one was 8

Old bread: >>32764817
ordered two level 4 plates and the last of the stuff for my PC. Next step is helmet and possibly comms. But I'm holding off on buying a helmet atm, because I think NFM is restocking on Ops Core helmets soon, and I' hope they're restocking on maritime helmets.
Was someone working on the new radio pastebin?
>>32793859
English civil war armor looks dope AF
OPS Core is overweight, overhyped, and overpriced. if you ask me, take a look at the MTEK FLUX Ballistic Helmet TNVC has for sale 1.1lbs for 3A is god-tier next to Safariland Delta-X.
Thinking about this beauty in thuddy aught six
Opinions? I'm in a cucked state and didn't want to drop the cash on an M1a to have it fail on me.
How do I buy this? No where in CA sells them.
>>32793150
Order them
>>32793379
And have them ship it to just any dealer?
>>32793444
Best to speak tpo the dealer and ask how much the the transfer fee will bem as well as letting them know you'll be placing an order with them and giving them info to contact you with when it arrives
Chinese EMP-deathray soon.
http://www.popsci.com/china-microwave-weapon-electronic-warfare
>AN ELECTRONICS-KILLING RAY HAS A VARIETY OF USES IN WAR.
>For over 6 years, Huang Wenhua and his team at the Northwest Institute of Nuclear Technology in Xi'an have been working on a potent microwave weapon. This one, which recently won China's National Science and Technology Progress Award, is small enough to fit on a lab work bench, making it theoretically portable enough for land vehicles and aircraft.
>Said another way: it's small enough to be convenient, but powerful enough to totally down enemy electronics. A microwave weapon like this could even be fitted to a missile (like the U.S. CHAMP electronic warfare missile) or drone.
>Generally, microwave weapons shut down electronic systems (even those with traditional shielding against EMP) by bombarding the target with energy pulses between 300 and 300,000 megahertz. This amount of directed energy interferes with and overloads electronic circuits, causing them to shut down. The higher the energy produced by the system, the greater the disruption (and even physical damage for some very high-powered microwave weapons) of the targeted electronic systems like engines and communications systems.
>China can find a wide variety of uses for an electronics killing ray. Defensively, microwave weapons could be part of electronic warfare booby traps, ambushing and disabling enemy vehicles and robots. At close ranges, it can be mounted on vehicles, warships, and even aircraft, to disable and distract missiles, small UAVs and even the personal and vehicular electronics of hostile forces.
>But the real combat potential of the microwave weapon comes in offense. Carried in by a stealthy drone or cruise missile, it would be able to disable sophisticated enemy defenses like SAM and anti-ship missile batteries; fry enemy radars, communications, and control systems; paralyze tank battalions; and even neutralize other EW platforms.
>Computer Killer
>EMP/high powered microwave cruise missiles, like the CHAMP, built by Boeing for DARPA, can sneak into enemy airspace to disable a wide range of C4ISR, air defense, missile and armored targets, even in some cases destroying electronic systems permanently. Such systems will become a necessary part of 21st-century warfare.
Possible that China might have a Sino-CHAMP in the works as well, but probably this tech will result in Directed High Power Microwave missile defense ray guns etc. that would replace the CIWS onboard ships.
>>32793120
holy shit, i hope it actually fires squiggly green death rays at shit
>>32793168
It will be invisible, unless you ignore the splattered remains of tank-crews and pilots who were cooked in their seats.
I understand the PKM and RPK-74 are both LMG's used to provide supporting fire for a squad. However I do not understand what the purpose of having both of them since every other nation has a single standard squad automatic weapon (SAW). RPK is really more like a heavier AK than the real machine gun. And with the magazine of only up to 45 rounds available, isn't it more or less... useless?
>>32792564
RPK is a SAW.
PKM is a GPMG.
These have different doctrinal uses. Think M249 vs. M240.
marines have transitioned to iar. it's based off hk416. the idea is now you have more portable system that is better in almost every way except you're down to 75-100 magazine, but you're less of a sitting duck and your weapon is lighter. basically modern bar
>>32792585
You're right but the analogy you're using doesn't translate. 249s and 240bs are both used in the same role in actual use, just not on paper.
