I was PDQed by MEPS for too much mobility in my shoulder joints. Anyone have any advice for getting around this? Any recruiters know of a branch that might have a waiver for something like that? Tried marines but they couldn't do it

If you ever took meds, even if you don't any more are you instantly cut off for being an officer? Australian here, thats my main goal, i took anti-depressants for a little while and even went to the mental ward(I voluntarily went cause i wanted a better diagnosis for what was wrong so i could get out of it), but am currently on some other crap which affects mood but isn't an anti-depressant. The only reason i am still on it is the side affects of stopping suddenly is essentially depression for a couple months

$500 is more than enough for a solid red dot like the Aimpoint PRO or Trijicon MRO.

If you haven't used a red dot before you should check out one in person before buying one.

If you have astigmatism it will look like a burst or a comet. You may not know you have astigmatism until you try using a dot. I learned the hard way.

I would start with iron sights and go from there. I have used many optics ranging from red dots, etched reticule fixed, low power variable and high power variable. I really like my 2.5x etched Primary Arms optic. It's a poor man's acog.

I think I got the best possible first pistol.

The Glock 26. Extremely easy to carry. Can even pocket carry with cargo shorts. 10+1 rounds of 9mm. One of the most reliable semi autos out there. And can even serve as a full size pistol with an extended grip.

Hell, you can even strap a 33 round magazine to it.

It can serve almost any purpose you'd expect a hand gun to.

While in the 7th grade I bought a Ruger p89 for $150 from my dad. It was in a car accident where the car rolled five times and the gun flew out the window and skipped across the road a few dozen yards. After buying it I spent a few years using it in competition and put a couple thousand rounds threw it. It's beat up and covered in scratches but still runs great.

Great pistol, built like a tank, would recommend for going through crashes on the highway.

Nice. I like the SCAR 17 better though, the achievements of the SCAR are basically lost on the 16s.

They have 'some' of the effective fighting forces, the vast majority are fucking garbage and their officers are complete duds. The upside is that their only real threat is sand people who are by and large, completely useless cunts.

It's not. What they have is a two tiered military, which is the main drawback to conscription.

The vast, vast majority of Israelis do a form of military service that doesn't really teach them to do anything other than a simple task - or makes them do something they can already do, except in uniform. It's incredibly basic throughout. Even the ones who volunteer for infantry and SF service are nowhere near the standards of their western counterparts

However - they have an excellent propaganda arm, some very clever scientists and political strategists, a decent military intelligence service and a fully supportive population.

They're backward in every other aspect and rely far too heavily on the set piece.

Mobility over long ranges became more important and having air cooled weaponry meant that you could carry more ammunition with smaller, more maneuverable teams.

The other big thing was the quick change barrel. The invention of this meant that the advantages water cooling had no longer applied when the barrel could be changed quickly and easily by the gunner.

Weight and the logistics that go with them. You need a man to carry the gun, one to carry the bipod/tripod, and one or two to carry the water and ammo. If you cant find a good source of water to keep them cool they lose their effectiveness.
