Although this is definitely a divisive topic, what is the most usable M1 carbine repro (or rebuild) out there right now? Most of the issued GI ones I've seen are quite worse for wear, or are far too cost prohibitive to consider.
If it comes to it, I'll still put the mini 14 into consideration if all of the repros are shitty
>>32909369
All repros/rebuild are shit desu. Mine is a NPM from 43 and works great
>>32909279
Great at weddings
Have any of you heard the rumor of .22 bouncing around inside a person. Opinions? Is a high capacity .22 pistol more beneficial than a low capacity pistol for CC?
>>32909206
there are no highcapacity 22lr pistols with mags that aren't fuck huge.
22lr really only works well as a singlestack.
Virgina Tech guy used a .22
.22lr kills anything you need to kill tomorrow.
You're going down too in the meanwhile.
It's 2017. Obama and Hillary are out of the picture and I still can't find a decent priced brick of .22 LR on the shelf or behind the counter. $60-80 on average.
2 rifles, 5 pistols that are all hungry for the same plinking ammo. All I see at the range are AR builds or hunting rifles.
Why are people still hoarding this shit?@?!

It takes 2 seconds to find cheap .22
Defender outdoors. 500 for 28 bucks.

Are Cold Steel rubber training knives safe to use as a sex toy? I think my Ka-Bar is made out of Santoprene, is that non-toxic? Sorta has a yucky smell...
Which end would you insert?

but why?
Are you training to stab people with your asshole?
I had a greentext about getting a firearms licence in Victoria saved. Must have deleted it in a fit or retardism.
Does anyone have it/a brief overview or checklist that spells out what I need to do to get raifu? Cat A/B likely.
No criminal history
Pay for safety course
Pass safety course
Pay to join a club as a reason to own firearms
Pay to submit license application
Submit license online with all ID
Wait forever for application to be reviewed
If approved take ID to police station for verification
Once you have license you'll need safe storage Pay for a permit to acquire
Then pay for your firearm

Forgot to mention, you'd better not have any history at all guarding mental illness either, that'll fuck you worse than a criminal record

Without a resupply? Two weeks I think.
With people bringing supplies in six weeks. Was leading a training group.
I think carrying food is the limiting factor, if you can manage to keep things clean and weather is good, water supply nearby, etc you can stay out as long as you keep getting food (and as long as you stay sane)
I have an AR and really want to try hog hunting some time. I've never killed anything before but just looking at their smug fucking faces makes me want to bring high velocity ultra violence upon them.
Having watched a few videos I have to say, that squeal they give in some videos does kind of bother me though
https://youtu.be/OUvj3ZZRpco?t=1m26s
What would be the best way to make them not do that? If I shot a hog and it started flailing all over the place and squealing would stabbing it in the neck a bunch of times stop it? how about smashing it's face with the butt of my rifle? or should i maybe use a bigger caliber than 5.56? I mean don't get me wrong I want to fucking kill these things because they are an invasive species and have really stupid fucking faces, but I don't want to watch something suffer for 30 seconds. I'm not that much of a psycho.
>>32907975
Head shots with 77 grain bullets. Either right between the eyes or just behind the ears.
>>32907975
You're retarded. Shoot it in the ear. If it's still flailing hit it in the ear again.
Maybe if you slit its throat, hitting it won't work unless you hit it with a truck, just be sure to have a grill guard.
I usually carry a rifle and handgun. If one is still alive, plug it with the pistol a few times
I'll start

GOOD MORNING GORBORAL :DDD
https://news.usni.org/2017/02/06/standard-missile-3-block-iia-intercepts-target-in-space-for-first-time
>The U.S. Missile Defense Agency, the Japan Ministry of Defense and U.S. Navy successfully used a ship-launched Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA to intercept a medium-range ballistic missile target for the first time on Friday night in Hawaii.
>In the Feb. 3 test, conducted at about 10:30 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time (3:30 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, Feb. 4), a target was launched from the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Kauai, according to a MDA statement. USS John Paul Jones (DDG-53) detected and tracked the target missile with its AN/SPY-1D(V) radar and Aegis Combat System Baseline 9.C2 system. The ship fired a SM-3 Block IIA – being jointly developed by the U.S. and Japan – and intercepted the target.
News releases from MDA and Raytheon add that preliminary data shows the test met its primary objectives, which include evaluating the performance of key missile components such as the kinetic warhead, divert and attitude control system, nosecone, steering control section, booster performance and second- and third-state rocket motor.

>Despite the larger size and greater capability, Stevison said no ship or VLS modifications were needed.
>“The ship itself is perfectly capable of launching a missile of this size, and we saw that executed near-flawlessly here Friday night,” he said.
>Overall, he said the test “was absolutely one of the smoothest tests I’ve seen conducted in my experience doing missile defense testing,” which he said was about 20 years. The preparation going into the test ensured everything went right and that all the needed data was collected to assess and help make improvements as needed going into the next test.
>The test event in Hawaii was also the first shipboard demonstration of Lockheed Martin’s Aegis Baseline 9.2 (BMD 5.1) Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) tracking and engagement capability, which is also set for certification in 2018. In tandem with the Baseline 9/BMD 5.1 software variant in development for the U.S. Navy, Lockheed Martin has been developing a comparable J7 variant for Japanese Aegis-equipped destroyers.
>>32907666
>On the other hand, this SM-3 IIA is """much larger""" than the other Standard Missiles, creating some additional concerns.
much larger huh...
hyperbole or shitpost?

He means diameter dumbass, not length.
Do you believe that all rifles should have irons sights?
I was thinking, if SHTF and your glass broke what would you do if you didnt have irons? Since you cant go out and buy a new scope, and assuming you cant barter for a new one what would you do?
Having thought about this alot i have come to hate glass on rifles, and try to only use irons
>>32907594
Most modern glass is at least as durable as irons.
Iron sights are for old fudds
It's 2017, use a scope
>>32907594
Yee, see through scope mounts are severely underrated. Have them on my BLR.
What is /k/s opinion on pic related?
Are bolt guns relevant and worth investing in?
>>32907479
The only relevant rifles are Sakos (including Tikka) and those for which you can get an aftermarket trigger. All others have triggers so heavy as to be nearly useless.
>>32907479
A bolt is literally the dumbest fucking magazine, on par with BAR for stupidity
>hurr durr lets give it a floor plate AND a detachable box guise
>>32907479
For hunting sure I don't see why not, beats spending over a grand for an AR10 or what have you.

I guess he's pretending to hold an AK or AR pistol.
That video was cancer. Every neighborhood like that one should be nuked, gassed, napalmed, then all survivors sterilized.
Glock brand problem solver.
Sup /k/. I take care of my dad's gun collection which he inherited himself a few years ago. In this collection is a sporterized ShtLE no.1 mark 3, manufactured in 1916 in the Enfield factory. The gun appears to have non-original sights and stock, and has more arsenal stampings than I can count.
I'll post some pics, and if any anons can tell me anything about the rifle it's much appreciated.
What are the chances it has seen combat?
sorry for the full retard 6000x4000 images
>>32907399
with that many re-arsenal stamps yes it was
/noob/ question
I am European so I shot a real gun maybe four times in my life.
Was wondering some time ago, how hard is to track a bullet to the gun. Because in American movies they all this easy-to-detect stuff that they can track who's gun was that.
I read during my research that it's because each gun has some unique inside parts (barrel? I don't know English terminology) that make each bullet 'bounce' inside so it leaves a specific path.
Is that true?
If yes, why do they sell unregistered weapons? Why not every one produced (apart from black market) is registered?
1. Hard to track unless you're retarded
2. Registration of firearms is unconsitutional
>>32907164
Older use barrels have a better chance of leave marks on a bullet. But unless you are shooting 12 inches (30 cm for ero fags) of jelly it is hard to tell what made a mark on a bullet.
Bullet casing are better for linking a gun to a crime. The market that the firing pin leaves on the primer can be very unique. But if the criminal uses a revolver they won't eject the casings.
And in murica all guns have serial numbers. Except for guns made at home usely made from an 80%. We can buy a unfinished gun part no questions asked and finish it and make a gun complete that is untraceable.
