from the pictures online it seems the blades usually look like that. also I don't think a fireman would use it too much so maybe it didn't get too much wear?

I can't see a makers mark on the blade. I'd say it's a fake. But if it would be an original it would be a Feuerschutzpolizei Seitengewehr

It looks legit to me. These aren't really worth the effort to copy, and especially not when they look like this. A combat knife would have been different.

If it's marked it's quite likely to be real, if it's not marked it's faked. There are websites where you can look up the Solingen makers marks and check if yours is a genuine one
