Never been here before, but a Steyr plant recently opened in Alabama and I'm a new adult/looking to be a new gun owner. I've shot and cares for guns all my life so I was just wondering if an Aug or something similar would be a good first gun to own.

AUGs are nice
>>32890116
cs 1.6 is not rl
>>32890124
yet you base your knowledge on cs AUG

Why nobody ever thought of doing a bulpup design for a MBT?
I only see pros
Can rotate turret without getting stucked on a tree or anything.
Cannon is on a higher position than the turret and the crew. Thus it would be possible to shoot the enemy behind a trench.
The recoil of the cannon no longer poses a threat to the reloader.
>>32889877
>Looks fucking stupid
>Higher target profile
>If shit ain't broke don't fix it
>>32889877
I'm pretty sure someone has thought of it, and the benefits didn't outweigh the drawbacks
How the loader gonna load it?
>Anon doesn't own an MG-42 !!
>What!? How pathetic!
>I know right? What a joke!
>>32889796
You can in Europe, my cousin has one we shoot when I go back.
>>32889802
Ever pretend you're mowing down commies on the Eastern Front in 1942?
>>32889809
Yes. All the time. In fact a few of my grandparents were in the Wehrmacht. The versions we have is not a real MG42 although I believe some were built with real parts. It's a Yugoslavian m53.
Why aren't slow rate of fire full auto guns a thing anymore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iooEFLPHZx4
>>32889704
Because all the WW1 generals who thought that a more reasonable rate of fire would waste less ammo and be more combat effective are dead now.
>>32889725
Oops, mistyped it, but you know what I mean.
>>32889704
9,5/10 would open carry all day
Going to an actual gun range for the first time here shortly.
I grew up on a farm, so our range was always just our back yard.
Is there anything I should know going in?
I've read a little about the rules, and know not to have anything loaded, and to bring my own targets, ammo, ear/eye protection, etc.
Anything I'm missing?
>>32889567
>grew up on a farm
>backyard range
That was my life, friend. I can assure you your first range trip will be disappointing and much less fulfilling than any other shooting you've done before.
>>32889567
Is it indoors or not? For indoor range just avoid flagging people and you will be fine
Outdoor ranges with many people can get annoying waiting for ceasefire to put your targets up and dealing with tards
Follow these steps and you'll make so many friends at the range
>install a gigantic muzzle brake on your gun to make sure you're firing off an audio equivalent of an AMRAAM missile with every shot
>Shoot other people's targets and say you're just adjusting your zero, even if you're just using iron sights.
>Collect other people's brass
>Scream "YEAAAAAH" if you see someone else rapidfire their $11,000 rifle.
>Repeatedly shout "HEY, EYES AND EARS" before you start shooting.
>Ask everyone what their favorite clip size is for their pistols
>Shoot smokey black powder from your fancy revolver your grandpa gave you, make sure you're near other people too.
>Fire your pistol in the rhythm of "Shave and a haircut" and get visually mad when no one shoots the "Two bits"
>Approach the muscular guy and keep making "gun" puns with his muscles, repeatedly.
>Show off your $20 red dot sight and try to be subtle by constantly touching the turrets of the optic.
>Wear a military helmet with LGBT stickers slapped on it, the ladies will love you.
Anyone else feel like adding to the list? I'm sure OP would appreciate all the advice.
Biafra did nothing wrong
Long live the igbo and praise great leader C. Odumegwu Ojukwu

expensive.
Went bankrupt several years ago, and the rights to the name and patent were bought by another Australian company only a couple years ago.
The fact that it's Australian-based and not American or European will by itself mean that nothing will really ever come of it. You can't expect a business to operate well when they're that far from their main potential revenue streams.
what does k think about the usp .40? i just got one
The USP is one of the few guns I would not mind owning in .40.
By any chance, is that a LEM?
no its a double action/single action
>>32889227
Loved it, but I sold mine for the USP 9 compact which I love even more.
Did you get yours used or new?
>Be California.
>In the market for a decent rifle.
Anybody have experience with the mini 14? Thoughts on synthetic stock vs. wood? Hoping to pick on up in the next couple weeks. Torn between that or buying a bolt .308 of some kind.
>>32889070
They're fun to shoot, and a semi-auto 5.56 (new models)
From what I understand your shitty state is a bit limited on what they can buy with those two features. Alternatively spend $500 more and get an M1A.
Overpriced and not as good as an AR or an AK
The only real benefit they offer is similar performance without looking as scary
And in that case you might as well min/max and go with wood furniture. Play on the gun's main strength and keep it looking like a hunting rifle
>I own a Mini-30, and despite objective criticisms I have of it, it is still my favourite firearm. intrinsic value is high. feels like a new production ww2 gun
>>32889070
>california
>decent rifle
choose one
What do you think of revolvers being used in actual combat situations?
Obsolete.
The only way i can see a revolver being used is if you gotta take down mister mundo if you know what i mean
>>32889073
Not op but what about as something to carry while hiking? Im scared of mtn lions.
10mm glogg is best innawoods pistol.
>want to join my countries military
>I'll be forced to use a bullpup
Which type of Aussie are you? Or are we IWI now?
>>32889184
or maybe OP is chinese or french
Just use the pistol every chance you get
Or become a sniper or something
Can I get in trouble in the army if they catch me taking bicalumatide and things of the like without prescription?
>>32888914
Nice grouping on that Tribble.

>tfw sub-MOA tactical doggo
>>32888914
If you have to ask, then the answer is yes. Stay safe, and always bring a battle buddy.
Should bodybags and similar corpse disposal equipment be part of your preps?
Let's say you were forced to kill some people, or your neighbor is dead, what do you with the dead bodies?
>>32888881
You should have a dump site picked out for all your waste. Leave bodies there.
I have a decent full-body hazmat suit, and plenty of stout rubber boots and gloves. If they deserve the respect, they're either getting cremated or buried according to their wishes.
Otherwise, they're going into the biomatter digester and making methane for me.

What if the enemy has multilayered air defense network with a full set of short-range / medium / long range systems? What if a cruise missile craters your airfield?
