Hey, /k/omrades
>I have some questions for anyone who's serving or has served.
Background:
I'm an 18 year old male who's grown up rough the past couple years hanging out with the wrong crowd (people invested in narcs and other shady dealings) ive seen my fair share of shit. I escaped a serious kidnapping extortion type scenario at 17. Been through some other stuff I'm not proud of and won't be disclosing. I'm looking at some charges right now. This past year i just got way to caught up in the shit I was being exposed to and lost track of my everything that wasn't money.
>Do you guys feel like you have an affliction for violence?
>How did your service effect you as a person?
>Thoughts on the French foreign legion?
I'm just looking for a real type of "redemption" I'm loyal as a dog and I got nothing left to lose except my life what high adrenaline (legal?) shit can someone with a record get into?
>>32888764
If you have a record, don't bother. It isn't the 19th century anymore, they have so much requests that they can afford to be picky. Your only chance is if you are fluent in French.
>>32888764
I assume as long as there is a will there is a way. Probably about knowing the right people eh? I'm just curious as to if anyone finds their way into security firms and the like without formal military training. Help me satisfy my self destructive destiny
>>32888788
I'd try to learn some French before and train for a year or more before attempting to get in
have you guys heard of the 7.62x40?
I have never heard of it till I went into a gunstore today and saw it on a gun.
fucking strange.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.62%C3%9740mm_Wilson_Tactical
It looks like very good quality, but why not just go the 300 blk route? Seems more future proof.
>>32888742
it just seems super gimmicky.
What was weird was I saw it on a older rifle, and not an Ar-15.
Is there any older rifles that fire a 7.62x40?
I was assuming it was a typo, but Google is not showing anything.
>>32888748
Probably 7.62x45 you were looking at in a vz52
ITT: We fix guns
Here's a perfect AUG.
>>32888640
Fix it a nicer butstock and maybe then it'll pass

>On a rifle with a tiny ass barrel
Okay dude
>take primary advantage of AUG
>remove it
>gun is somehow fixed
According to various sources, the number of intentional "blue on blue" deaths (ie, murders of servicemen by other servicemen) during the Vietnam war was at least 800 among US forces, with another few hundred classified as "potential" blue-on-blue.
This is a MUCH higher rate than the intentional blue-on-blue rates for Iraq/Afghanistan.
Why are modern troops so much more professional and capable of maintaining unit cohesion than Vietnam-era guys were?
Not to pick on the 'Nam guys, but 800 to 1,200 is an atrocious number of intentional slayings for a death toll of 58,000. It indicates some serious breakdown in the ranks. Totally unprofessional.

Because modern war is comparatively comfortable.
I wonder what the rate in ww1 was

Hi /k/
I grew up in an extremely liberal city. I know literally 2 Trump voters in my entire social sphere, and owning guns is equally rare. Since I have left for college I have also left this 'bubble' I was raised in. I now live in a much more purple area, and many of my local friends own guns. This made me realize how lucky I was to be from a state, and country, which has looser gun laws, so when I went home for Christmas break I bought my first rifle, a Savage Arms 64fx. I have really enjoyed owning the gun, and Im going through the process of getting my hunting license for snowshoe hare next winter.
Ok enough back story, time for the real question. What are the basic guns one should own to have a well rounded arsenal? Having a basic .22 seemed like a very obvious place to start, but moving forward what would you recommend next? A shotgun, semi-auto full caliber rifle? Pistol? I have a crush on the Lee Enfield Jungle Carbine, so Id like to know if you guys think thats a good next step. My budget is somewhat limited so that should also be a factor.
I basically wanna know what you guys think are good guns for someone looking to build a smaller, fun, and practical arsenal.
Simple 9mm Glock
.22LR Rifle
Mossberg 500/590 or Remington 870 or Ithaca M37 shotgun
if you want to go big get a (your state legal) AR15 or if legal a semi-auto AK.
If you want to make your memes a reality get an SKS and/or Mosin Nagant
>>32888624
So you dont think a full caliber rifle is necessary? Or are you recommending a Mosin/SKS? What about the enfield, would that work as a hunting rifle?
>>32888649
Enfield is fine as a hunting rifle, I've seen .303 British soft points.
Is 9x18 a meme?
Do they actually make decent defensive ammo for makarov that can compete with commercial 9mm?
What's your carry weapon and round? Furthermore, explain why everyone else is gay but you.
>>32888601
They're hot little rounds, they'll definitely put a hole in somebody. I'd actually recommend hollow point if you're using it for personal defense.
>>32888607
Is there any practical use for them in this caliber saturated market? Do they hit some sort of goldilocks zone between a 380acp and 9mm? I'm asking because I'm trying to justify buying one.
>>32888671
>trying to justify buying one
The fact that it's a cool surplus piece that also makes for a decent cheap CC gun and will eventually go up in price is enough of a reason

We jumping, huffing, hanging, swallowing, cutting or shooting?
Let's say you're without your weapons for whatever reason.
Can you defend yourself /k/?
I know many anons here practice actual martial arts to compliment their self defense.
Which martial arts do you practice /k/?
I do Kickboxing for striking and Judo for grappling. And a little knife fighting when a bunch of kali, escrima, fencing and HEMA guys meet up at the park on Saturdays.
judo is so fucking fun. I broke my femur and heel shortly after starting so I don't know when if ever, I will continue training.
Martial arts are a joke. Has martial arts training ever helped anyone? Street fights are brawls, not sparing matches.
Kendo, seitei Iaido, Muso Shinden Ryu Enbu Iaido, Katori Shinto Ryu, Goju Ryu, Judo and Aikido.
A jack of all trades but the master of none, is often times better than a master of one.
What do you think would be the best gun to remake the ASP with.
My vote goes to either the G26 or the CZ75 RAMI.
G26 because it's popular, but some kind of see through grip panels would make the already THICC grip thicker. The RAMI has the advantage in this, but the G26 has so much aftermarket.
What kind of mods would you like to see in the new ASP.
Here's a few I think are worthwhile.
>undercut trigger guard
>Heine straight 8 sights
>Dehorned
>Reduced trigger weight
>something similar to the 1911 mags that show the round count in a digital display
>very stiff recoil springs to reduce felt recoil with defensive rounds
Your thoughts /k/?

Stiff recoil springs? To reduce felt recoil? Get the fuck out of here
Good morning. I'm looking at options for purchasing a suit of armour.
Do you have any good places to look?
I'm also considering buying it piece by piece and compose my own outfit. I just woule really like some metal smelling strong armour.
Bump
>>32887928
post dick girls faggots.
Do you really have 10+ grand to spend on a set of custom made and form fitted armor, and the ability to steadily keep your weight and stature the same as it was when you ordered it a year or two down the line?
Why is ded bird the most operator gear?
Murder?
Now I need a Naga Hoodie
Caaawww!!!
Was there any possible way for Poland to survive 1939?
>>32887760
Theoretically? Yes. France needed to go on the offensive on day one and force Germany to commit more troops in the West. They also needed reinforcements coming in through Romania. The idea was to fall back towards the Southeast corner of the country to hold that line of communication open. Further, the USSR could not get involved. However, as it played out, no strategic brilliance could save Poland.
>>32887760
Get better tanks
>>32887760
Just send one commando to Berlin and assassinate Hitler. That's all it took. Poles are fucking stupid.
So I was trying to sight in my Pursuit X1 tactical scope from Bass pro and was having trouble sighting it in. It's on my PSA freedom kit on an Anderson lower. I was shooting 55 grain Tulammo. Is it the scope, gun, ammo, or me?
100 yards
>>32887526
All of the above.
>>32887526
Easiest way to check if it's you is to let someone better than you try some groups. Alternatively, borrow or buy a shooting rest. Which position were you shooting from?
Are Lancer mags worth switching from pmags? I have one and never had problems with it, but I haven't used it long term. Anybody have experience with this. They are $12.99 each at Midway right now.
Not necessarily worth switching, more like supplementing. They are really good mags.

>>32887518
Lol, USGI mags can be bent at the feed lips the easiest.
