Non shit knives edition
>>33129581
Bumping for curiosity sake, looking for a better blade.
what is that in the middle?
Just watched Gordon Ramsay's video of basic kitchen kit. BAM says a good knife should have a great handle. More weight in the handle, more control. Yet that custom maker here swears the weight should be just the blade.
I really don't want to hollow out my knives, I'm thinking my first batch will be 100% full tang, no drilling except for pins. If they're handle-heavy, then I will experiment.
Any additional info on it would be helpful.
Looks like something from a video game or a random graphic designer.
Goddammit OP, use some common sense.
You might try /3/.

Look up CP 500 pistol. It's not real, but there's a lot of speculation on where the image came from.

moving out to west MI soon, GR area
where is the best innawoods? i know you can shoot in manistee nat forest but is there anywhere on the southern end of the forest do do innawoods shooting?
best gun ranges? LGS'
MI thread in general i guess too
Around Grand Rapids I hit up a couple places, for a nice handgun range I sometimes hit up Silver Bullet in Wyoming.
I mostly hit up the Rogue River State Game Area though and would recommend that for a place to plink around that's not terribly far. I don't go to any clubs tho, good hunting broski.
I have always liked Barracks 616, but their transfer fee is crazy. Nice people and good selection though

Best gun store would be On Target Guns in Kalamazoo, lots of surplus rifles, pistols, parts and accessories. Bought my wasr 10, bulgy mak, yugo mauser, and nugget from there.

I got you famlam, it really depends where you're carrying. Is it an appendix carry? A side holster? Ankle holster? Thigh? Assuming you're just using a normal belt holster the trick is grab the weapon by wrap the grip with your palm of your shooting hand middle, ring and pinky fingers. Keep the index finger (trigger finger) straight and pointing down the same direction of the barrel. Wrap your thumb around the grip but make sure it is not above where the slide is (good way to get Berreta bite ouch!). Raise the weapon and make sure it's pointed in the direction of the target. Important to remember that it is better to draw smoothly than quickly. As you raise the weapon wrap your non dominant hand around the shooting hand making sure to place the non dominant thumb over the other to create stability (again making sure to go above the slide). Once the weapon is completely pointing, take aim, remove any safeties( if there is any) and begin shooting.

I don't really think there's much to say about drawing guns that doesn't apply to everything else as well. If anything, as a mediocre artist my problem is more of having the character holding/using the weapon naturally rather than drawing the weapon itself.
Just look at references of actual guns, how they're carried by people, and what kind of gear is carried with weapons, that kind of stuff. Don't be the guy who draws a man with an AKM and a chest rig full of AR mags. I very often use picture references from threads on /k/ that post pictures of operators and weapons.
What exactly is the point of digital camo? Is it better?
>>33128376
It's better looking than that shitty trees and twigs hunter camo bullshit.
Multicam and BDU is better.

No, OD Green, Khaki,White and Navy/Horizon Blue are the only camos you need, anything else is a meme
No thread despite a lot going on. Hmm.
Now that ISIS retreated from the Al-Bab Comedy Cauldron, the SAA and Turkish pet FSA are now staring at each other from across a roundabout. Unsurprisingly it only took 6 hours now SHIT IS GOING DOWN.
The Turks' "FSA" slaves have apparently launched a full-scale assault on Tadif with an open battle ongoing at time of writing. SAA is calling in RuAF air support.
Additional clashes between TFSA and Hezbollah east of Bab where the SAA is trying to finish ISIS and close off any path for the TFSA to advance further. Open conflict now seems very likely.
In other news, Ahrar Al-Sham stated that they intend to march from Bab through Manbij to Raqqa. I guess apparently they meant as part of a full-scale Turkish invasion.
>laughing_ISIS.jpg
BIZARRE: Right now, the TFSA, SAA, and ISIS (???) are all simultaneously claiming control of Tadif next to Al-Bab.
Sometimes I hope this war never ends.

Next time you do this thread you should expand it to include the SIG 320. That will get the fights going.

It's got to be the Old Slabside everytime.
Sure the Beretta looks nice, but nothing knocks 'em down like the .45, and keeps them down.
As a piece of engineering, it is still unsurpassed, and given the numbers produced, it's probably the most influential weapon system of the 20th century.

I think the DI guys are right and you should buy an AR 18 derivative if you must have a piston rod gun.
But looking at the HK 33 thread, even that seems to make DI fans angry.
When should this happen, around what age should you begin to introduce a child into shooting, anyone have kids?
We need to get them hooked to continue our sport.

Bought my son a 22 rifle when he was six, and that's when he started. Now he's 9 and has a 30-30 that he loves going hunting with.
Yea it's a bit much and hurts his shoulder, but he likes it.
I'm thinking of modernizing the optic setup on my main AR. It's used for close range to intermediate range shooting, sometimes with local tactical shooting competitions and such. I currently have a TA-31 ACOG, which I have been using for a long time. I've gotten used to using it as a close range optic and have overall liked the performance.
However, I feel like I'm falling behind the times. What optical set up can I get will offer me better close and intermediate range, fast-acquisition shooting? I'm not interested in a variable optic with a 1x setting, since I have found it to be clunkk to swap and if I get a 1x setting I want infinite eye relief.
I'm open to a micro red dot or even irons piggypacking on a scope, and a scope that's either fixed or variable in the 3x-6x kind of ballpark. Having generous eye relief would be a bonus. Looking for a total package under 11oz in weight. Price tag pretty much whatever.
>>33126401
>Looking for a total package under 11oz in weight
Then you're not going to find anything, dumbass. Your ACOG weighs more than that already, unless you're using that tiny shit magnification one, and ACOGs are a generally hard to beat option for going lightweight.

>>33126444
I was going off Trijicon's specs on the sight, but I realized it didn't include the weight of a base. Let's say then 14oz, which is the weight of ther TA31 with a milspec mount.
What can I get that will be better without going higher weight? Willing to get a bit spendy for lighter weight materials.
>>33126556
If by 'bit spendy' you mean $2-3 grand and up, then we can talk. Otherwise you fucked yourself with the weight restriction and lack of single variable. Unless you don't mind sacrificing durability for a few ounces... and honestly, even if you do it's going to be tough.
Buddy of mine just bought a kimber and paid full MSRP on a custom 2 two tone. We both have colt 1911s and love them. Why do people buy these things....general non Colt 1911 hate thread
>>33125159
Why would you buy a Colt when you can get the same or better cheaper?
OP here... I paid far less for my 1911 from Colt. About 675 out the door. He paid like 850 for his kimber...although he did pay like 1000 for his delta elite 10mm from Colt.
>>33125159

Absolutely disgusting
Got this Colt for about $600

I am also working on an update, Kek help you.
What effect does a compensator have on bullet velocity? I know that barrel porting causes a small decrease, but I don't know if that also applies to comps.
also on a scale of 1 to EEEEEEEEEEEE, where would a comped .357 sig rank?
>>33124205
You take gas after the point where the barrel on a normal gun would have endet (in the case of your pic) so it wouldnt decrease the velocity
>>33124301
EEEEEEE outside. EEEEEEEEEEE indoors.
