>first world war rifles had pitiful penetration power, being deflected by thin pieces of metal
>explosives were the perfect anti-trench weapon
>large groups of people would charge towards these rifles with zero protection and zero means of retaliation until they got close, not even throwing grenades at the trench which was within throwing distance
Something doesn't add up here.
>>33089505
>First world war rifles had pitiful penetration
False
>Not throwing grenades at close trenches
Well they did when they could, they also mortared the shit out of them, used what limited airsupport they had at the time, put down a shit ton of gas, etc. and they still had survivors in the opposing trench. What else is there to do when everything from a distance fails? Get up close.

>Undoubtedly the greatest grenade battle of the war occurred on the Pozieres Heights on the night of 26-27 July 1916.
>Lasting for twelve-and-a-half hours without a break the Australians, with British support, exchanged grenades with their German foes (who threw multiple types of grenade: sticks, cricket balls, egg bombs and rifle grenades). The allied contingent alone threw some 15,000 Mills bombs during the night.
>Many grenadiers were killed that night, while many others simply fell down due to complete exhaustion.
>>33089517
But why not as they got up close?
Grenading during a charge seems practical, since a soldier can't focus on shooting someone when there's one or more grenades about to explode rather close by.
Also, biscuit tins deflecting bullets and people surviving being shot in the face multiple times was not unheard of.

Got you.
Hey /k/ can you help me out? My bayonet for my mosin decided it didn't want to attach anymore. I can get it down to the front sight but the retention bit won't depress against the sight. I can depress it very easily with my thumb but it refuses to work on the gun itself.
Any ideas other than time for a new bayonet or nugget?
Looks like you're being a vag

What do you think? Howa Mini action .223 Rem 23" heavy sporter barrel. 1-9". Just put it together today,
Also, ask a barrel maker anything
do you crown chrome lined barrels?
Chrome lining is done after crowning, there is nothing saying you cant crown a chrome lined barrel though.
>>33085548
i need an AR barrel shortened, and i've had 2 gunsmiths tell me they won't do it cause of the chrome lining.

my personal favorite has always been the stuka dive siren
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nZZ504TGDpE
Agree about the Stuka.
The BRRRRTT also makes a scary dive sound I've noticed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17h04ag1YHg
The droning from it's engines increases in loudness and frequency during the dive like the tension ambience in a horror movie.

I saw a little documentary on what GIs thought was killing most guys vs. what was actually killing them.
American GIs thought the screaming rocket rack the Germans fielded was killing something like 10x the guys it was actually killing.
They were terrified of it.
Any recommendations for a belly band (or a similar style holster) that would fit an HK p30sk?

How many gallons? Also, what lighting are you using? Doesn't look waterproof.
Kudos for actually having a planted tank, though.
Oh what kind of fishes do you have? how many gallons? Good taste with the plants too I like your setup!
Very nice first handgun.
You will not be disappointed.
We all know and love our favorite atmospheric guns, but what guns would work best for fighting people in space?
I've been thinking that low-calibre (potentially smaller than a .22), high-volume caseless form of ammunition would be a good idea for the space age, as the caseless ammunition would (hopefully) retain most of the heat and keep it out of gun internals, while the sheer volume of lead/plastic would maintain lethality by puncturing space suits, in a death-by-a-thousand-papercuts style.
Viable idea? What would be better? I'm sure /k/ has a ton of fucking ideas.

Coil gun or some sort of DEW would be ideal.

Thinking of buying it, very little information out there about them.
Just buy a CZ-75 instead. You get pretty much the same thing but can easily get parts and have it serviced. CZ is a good company.

I need your help /k/
One of my coworkers is a permanent resident who is really into guns. He has an Illinois DL and his FOID card for Illinois, but recently in Texas and hasn't changed his DL over yet.
So my question is can he buy a gun from an FFL in Texas or since Texas has no legislation on private party sales can I sell him one of my guns without having to jump through hoops?
I never really understood how this issue arises. Isn't updating your driver's license one of the first things you do when you relocate? I've always done mine within 30 days of updating my mailing address.
>>33084314
Wait, perm residents can pass the check? I thought it was US citizen only
>>33084314
>So my question is can he buy a gun from an FFL in Texas
No, he needs to get a Texas license which he must do within 90 days of relocating to Texas.
>can I sell him one of my guns without having to jump through hoops
This is called a Straw Purchase and is a crime.
