Hey, /k/, I'm just wondering what type of round, assuming it's the standard 7.62 NATO cartridge, would be best at consistently (for the most part), penetrating 0.5-1 inch of steel plating, if there is a 7.62 round capable of doing that. Assume the round's being fired from a fairly standard battle rifle like a FAL.
>>33141764
That's a 7.62x39 cartridge

>guise, lets talk about 7.62 nato

.243 or 5.56 are better at punching through steel as armor penetration is better if you're smaller faster and pointier.
I received this knife as a gift from my mother a days ago. I think the knife is used and doesn't have much edge. I would like to know if someone has o had this knife and for what purpose and how can I sharpen it
>>33141712
It's a shit knife and if it was not a gift, I'd say just toss it.

Why doesn't anybody talk about this pistol?
I saw one at my local shop and it felt good in the hand. The trigger was pretty good as well.
Anybody here have experience with it? Preferably with the 40. version?
>>33140738
I cc a P2000SK daily. I love mine, you should love yours. Get through a couple hundred rounds to break it in a bit, and you're basically good to go.
DA/SA model > LEM by the way, at least for me.
>>33140808
>break in period
>on an HK
Excuse me?????
>>33140855
hk springs are stiff, and won't cycle low power 115 grain loads so when until the springs breaks in a bit. This is a tradeoff for being able to chug thousands of rounds of +p like a champ
OP, fuck .40, but the p2000 is great, and the best bang for your buck pistol in the hk line up.
What's the consensus on the Ruger GP100 Match Champion? I'm looking for a new 357 revolver and it looks promising. I was going to go with a 686 but I've had bad luck with S&W
I know most people like the GP100s in general, for being inexpensive and overbuilt. Not sure on the Match Champions.

You're over paying for aesthetics, that's it.
The trigger pull is only slightly improved

If I could get one with a 6 inch barrel, I would buy one today
Has anyone tried this leupold vx-3i? I can get it for 315 dollars on amazon without tax. I ordered an vx2 for 265 then saw this. Now i am canceling the vx2, probably going to have to ship it back to get the vx-3i. Going for the 3.5x-10x40mm
No one has options on scopes? Does someone want to talk shit that i am not buying a vortex viper?
>>33140411
VX3 series are good hunting scopes. Glass is very clear and bright, Leupold has an excellent lifetime warranty on their scopes and a reputation of very good customer service if you ever actually need to use the warranty.
>>33141000
The vx3 seems to be critically acclaimed. The vx3i is cheaper and supposed to be even better and bright. Seems like a game changer in high end scopes at moderate prices but i dont see a lot of talk about it on the internet

Hi /k/, yesterday was the first time i have ever shot a .50 ae desert eagle.
Question, how the fuck do you aim. Even when i thought i lined up the sights i still rarely even hit the general area i was aiming at, at 25 feet

playing games like fallout and now seeing this is making me think about the day when i will be staring at this soulless death machine down the barrel of a gun as it rushes me and my group of survivors, specifically: would conventional firearms have any effect on a robots frame to either break its mechanics or pierce the light vehicle type armor plating to destroy any vital processing units? I'm assuming EMPs and other anti electronic stuff is off the table and i'm not familiar with guns enough to know the effects of firing into (assuming) something made entirely of metal and plastic. so what gun do i need to put this robot down?
>>33139783
i keep meaning to build a microwave rifle, but i am so incredibly lazy.
If you're not b8ing, anything rifle caliber (armor piercing rounds optional) will put a robot down. The robots designed for consumer and civilian life will be light as possible and will probably have thin plastic / aluminum as a shell. Hell, a decent shotgun slug will put a hole in anything you want. Things to avoid are fire based weapons and non-blunt weapons - blades aren't gonna do much.
>>33139783
Constant Spark Gap Transmitters to flood any connectivity, then isolate and destroy.
Lets try something new /k/.
Post your minimal conceal carry and pocket knife choices. The firearm and/or blade you carry when discretion and inconspicuousness are at the most important.
Then post your full sized weapons. The blade, pistol, and rifle you'd carry for shtf full civil unrest mode.
>daily carry
>shtf loadout
And talk a bit about each.
No need to include gear but do so if you wish. Got on /k/ today and the first 5 threads where some anon bashing a particular weapon or asking about a particular weapon then having it bashed.
This muh p230 and bitchmade 940. The p230 is light weight and super easy to conceal, but it doesn't have that 3 finger pocket pistol feeling that you get. I prefer the .380 acp in my car when driving to and from campus where the 16 rounds of 9mm in a $1,600 pistol might look bad in court. Love the 940, I sharpen it with some cheaper naniwa waterstones which is also the reason I opted out of the combo blade profile with serration.
>>33139275
This the full blown lay some hate loadout. The 92G was expensive af but is really a nice luxury to have, I shoot the piss out of it and it has proven very reliable and accurate, at least as well as I can shoot. FN15 because muhreens, and iron sites because I havn't got $1200 for the ACOG yet. I like the 20" barrel, it squeezes every ounce of ballistic performance out of the 5.56, and I don't plan on raiding any houses or ships where the barrel/stock length would prove that much of a disadvantage. Then the basic OKC sp1, thick blade with large comfy handle and $40, whats not to love?
>>33139275
concealing shit isn't hard to be tbhfam
Anyone know where I can find a good 4x zoom scope for an AR under $40? I found a nice micro red dot for 20 bucks like in pic related. Heres the link if anyone's interested.

>>33138957
>under $40?
This is airsoft tier. The cheapest yet quality optic you can get for an AR15 costs $160.
I would strongly advise you not to get that red dot unless you enjoy wasting your money.
>>33138957
>under 40 dollar
I know you are poor but you arent getting anything good for 40 bucks.bump it up to 200 then we'll talk.
>>33138957
You're not getting a 4x for that price. Go for a 1x1 and you can get a good red dot for less then $30.
