Well the Title says what this is about. I have been doing some research on this and I am finding it hard to make a parts build FAL cheaper than just outright buying a DSA built one. I would like to build mine for the satisfaction of saying "I built it" and to have a carry handle on it. However at the same time buying a DSA, again, would be cheaper and comes with a warranty. Also I am aware /k/ tends to hate on DSA FAL's for being cast rather than milled. Does anyone have any experience with DSA rifles? Also anyone has any sites they are aware or that offers tools, parts, and receivers other than a random guy on a forum feel free to share them.
TL;DR
>Want To build FAL, however its not cheap than buying one with warranty
>Explain hate on DSA
>Got any resources and info on building FALs
Also here are some of the places I have gotten my info and prices:

Everyone is going to tell you to do a parts build, mostly because they are fetishists and fantasy purists. 90% of the people who hate on DSA have never seen an FAL IRL. 99% have never fired one. This is /k/ after all. Your chances of pushing your gun to the limit where cast vs. milled is going to make an iota of difference are somewhere between slim and none.
I have an SA58 that the weirdo I bought it off tried customizing to be as accurate as possible: heavy barrel, etc. It shoots maybe 1.5 MOA with irons. DSAs can be very accurate, reliable firearms
Also, hate to break it to you, but the "random guy on a forum" is usually your best bet

Thanks anon. I figured as much with DSA, like I have been searching around and I really had not found any issues with them. The only people I found who had problems with them were random people on forums....who just so happened to be selling some FALs they were building themselves. Plus going off of what you said I feel as though modern casting techniques are probably better than milling processes from the 195-60's.
Why in the ever living fuck was he trying to do that?
Yea I was just trying to find a consistent source of parts or something like that. Yea I think I might just accept my rifle not having a carry handle but at least having a warranty.
I would also like to know
Why don't we use muskets modern day or just better muskets rather than using rifles
Why don't we use wagons modern day or just better wagons rather than using cars
Why don't we use carrier pigeon modern day or just better pigeons rather than using internet
we have better muskets, they're aclled rifles

They're made in the home, where the heart is.
Whats /k/'s opinion on the Sig P250? I've been thinking about picking one up as my first handgun. Figure it fits my needs with the swappable frames to make it full sized and compact for cc and hd. I feel like for being a relatively innovative design it's not talked about much for whatever reason, like to see what you guys think about it. Cheers.
Inferior to p320 imo
>>33075988
Any major differences between the two other then price?
>>33076092
Yes. They are basically the same gun except the 320 is striker fired, based on what you said you want to do with it id recommend the 320

Where the piss do I get surplus Mauser ammo? All that's seems to be left are turbojews on gunbroker.
>surplus mauser ammo
>not knowing that civilian owned MG-42s drained that shit like a bath tub 40 years ago
>>33075326
You don't
Best you can get is that Romanian stuff, since the Iranian surplus is garbage and Turkish surplus tends to have some of the same issues as the Iranian.
You don't know what fear is until you've tried to extract a live round from the chamber and the bullet is ripped out of the casing because it was so loosely seated, only to quickly chamber another round and smash the first bullet into your barrel. Seriously guys, if something ever feels off about chambering a round, inspect your firearm before you shoot it, it could save your gun and maybe your hand

2012.
Good times.
Will there ever be tanks that use leg stabilizers to pivot the barrel upwards and turn into artillery?
>>33074983
yes
>>33074983
>>33074983
In many ways they already exist. Not tanks really, but SPGs exist that do similar things. The M107 uses hydraulic spades to dig in for example.
Wheel using SPGs often have what you'd classically think of as legs, like the Serb's SOKO or the Israeli ATMOS 2000.

Don't lie to me like that, also the F-11 was forgotten because it was the only aircraft to hit itself with it's cannon fire.
Hey mates, how does one find out the manufacturing date of their Type 99s? Or did they even have dates stamped on them?
Seriously, the first result when typing in 'Arisaka manufacturing dates' in google.

Long story short,my dad left an old rifle (pic related) in a shed for the past winter and it's full of rust. Still fires but I want to know good way to get rid of rust
I read that rubbing vaseline on it for a few hours then wiping it down is good. Any thoughts?

>>33074631
Get an old rag and cover it in oil. Start rubbing all over the metal bits. Rub some more. Rub even more. Enjoy patina.
Guy I know bought an AR a few weeks ago (new). He somehow fucked it up and I'm at a loss.
Says he was shooting, everything went fine, he cleaned it, then went shooting again and the casings were fucked up (pic related)
What did he do?
its just new gun stuff needing breaking in. If you reload some sizing dyes will clear that up with no problem.
bump?
Maybe the BCG is slamming back too soon and chewing up the brass as it's trying to exit the firearm.
Try putting a heavier buffer in the stock, or a less hot ammo.
Curious what could have changed. Adjustable gas block?
When is the military going to stop being autistic and go back go this instead of twenty different uniforms between the services?
>>33073057
IIRC there is supposed to be a joint service pattern by 2020.
Longing for the joint uniform to be solid color is just "muh aesthetics" and stupid. A military pattern is going to be patterned because they work better, period.
>>33073087
Not even a Muhreenaboo, but I honestly think that we should adopt MARPAT. It's effective but distinctive.

Why doesn't /k/ talk about this movie too? It's not as good as John Wick but I'd think /k/ would give it more attention.
