Just picked up this mosin for 350. Made in Russia in 1942 and has all matching serial numbers. One thing that I noticed is that the color seems to be darker than most mosin, is this rare? Also the bolt is black not silver and the wood is not lamenated. And also mosin thread in general.
Another pic
Also has the gold finishes on the barrel too, pretty cool.

how can you enjoy ICP?
>>33153685
>pull trigger once
>two shots fire
it feels like instead of reseting the trigger when I let go it just drops the hammer without engaging the trigger properly. Like when you let go of the trigger it disengages to catch at the green arrow and it's supposed to engage at the red circle but it fails to do so and just hits home
>>33153730
sorry didn't know you were deaf. It fired when I pulled the trigger, then I reracked it without letting go of the trigger and then started to let go of the trigger and it fired again.
cheers on the grip advice, I just got the one I have now because the normal plastic one was cutting up my palms. maybe down the road

Is mine just a defect or did they ship these things with crooked hammers and no shits given?
>>33153704
Dynamic operational capability with increased angle of attack. Nothing to worry about, kiddo
>>33153704
Mine has the canted hammer too. I think they all develop it with use.
I've never heard of it causing problems, it just triggers my autism too a little bit.
>>33153731
>I think they all develop it with use.

I have less then 100 rounds through it.
What ever happened to this?

Dysxelia.
People always say to use enough gun, but how do I know what enough is? People have tried to mathematically quantify cartridge efficacy at least since the 1960s, but none of the various formulas seem to be satisfactory. Questions of "stopping power" still haunt us.
>Is 22 LR enough for coyotes?
>is 223 enough for deer?
>is 243 enough for deer?
>is 6.5mm enough for black bears?
>is 270 enough for elk?
>Is 375 enough for buffalo?
Et cetera. How do I cut through all the bullshit and get to the truth?

Shot placement, shot placement, shot placement.
There have been people who have dropped brown bear with .22 to the heart. Though just because they have doesn't mean you can first rattle out of the box. It all depends on the context. I'm sure a .30 cal rifle round will kill a hippo if shot in the heart, but if that fucker's charging I'm blasting open is skull with the biggest rifle I can pick up.
>>33153567
Unfortunately, OP, it's even harder nowadays, because of the revolution in bullet design. A lot of calibers which would have been marginal or worse for a certain intended game now may actually be useful.
Having said that, enough gun in North America tends to be a .30-06 with whatever load you feel necessary. A bit light for the big browns up north, but not bad.
Any tips on finding an SMLE fit for shooting/hunting?

When your country is surrounded by hostile and unstable Arab countries, in a region rife with terrorism, and have been invaded by all your neighbors, you get pretty good at designing weapons.

What do you think of /r9k/? What gun you think they will use in the Rope Day?
The same one you should use.
>>33153103
Fuck /r9k
That being said they'll probably use a walther ppk because that's what James Bond uses and betas worship him
>>33153103
Do you really want to know how I feel about r9k?
They take the concept of "pretend to be a douchebag leftist to sleep with girls" so far they actually believe the bullshit they used to pretend to think except they still can't seem to get laid and the best "moves" they can muster are just being beta orbiters

>The day before the Air Force Association’s annual winter conference begins, the newest wrinkle in the years-long saga of deciding what aircraft the Air Force would buy to secure America’s nuclear missile fields was announced. Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky will offer — surprise! — an updated version of the Black Hawk helicopter, the HH-60U.
>Last May, the Air Force dropped its plan to just pay $1.4 billion in a sole-source deal to buy the upgraded Black Hawks to replace the aging UH-N1s now in its fleet. Air Force Global Strike Command has said the Hueys are too slow and lack the necessary range to handle the critical nuclear security mission. The helicopters are used at all three missile bases, Malmstrom, Minot and Warren AFBs.
>Among the key factors in the competition are the choppers’ ability to carry a full load of eight combat-ready airmen. The HH-60U can carry transport nine fully outfitted Security Forces specialists, special equipment and two special mission aviators, Lockheed says, for the Continuity of Operations mission, which is all about getting senior leaders out of harm’s way in a disaster or attack. Lockheed says that mission requires transport for eight. The company also says the HH-60U can carry 9,600 pounds “of useful load.”

why not just buy gliders
why not just reactivate iowas to protect our nukes?
Why not just buy dong copters?
