Is there a Canadian equivalent to the CIAs SAD?
How do I join?

>>
>>33114226
Given Canada's smaller recruiting pool dangerous operations that would be undertaken by SAD in the U.S. are probably undertaken by JTF2 and similar.
>>
>>33114556
>>33114226
Canada also has a slightly less aggressive foreign policy that would require less of these shadow warriors.

So they might not have a direct equivalent in terms of capacity and indeed lump similar responsibilities to their closest intelligence agency and qualified special operatives.

Also I would reckon that it wouldn't be that hard for a proper tier 1 level Canadian vet from like JTF2 to actually get IN SAD. American and Canadian special forces have looong standing ties including the OSS, the CIA's WW2 predecessor.

What are they and why?
I'd grab my ishapore 2A and my mak, the ishapore isn't something you can just replace since it's milsurp, and neither is the mak, sort of.
I'd take the insurance payout from my ARs, .22 and other pistol to rebuy/ build an AR just right for once.

I would save the guns that aren't in the safe. The ones in the safe will be fine if the fire is out in 5 hours, which it will. Also it's surrounded by only cinder blocks and cement, do it'll be fine

My Israeli 7.62 Mauser, and my great grandfather's .22lr. Everything else can be replaced. No matter how expensive.

Got my dad into shooting lately. He started to look for a pump shotgun so he found mossberg ATI and wants to buy it badly. I'm somewhat skeptical. Is it worth the price? Plinking and HD.

Mossmasters are good guns. Your pic related is really fucking ugly, but I can't find a functional argument against it.

Yup, pic related is the exact model my pop is keen about.

Let him buy what he enjoys as he's likely to shoot it more often.

Looks like half the price of a Hi-point carbine for none of the ugliness. I'm pretty sure most high-end airsoft guns cost more than this.

Good job OP, you weren't a total faggot today.

Soooooo this here P-01
If we talk about CCW there are a few points to hit. Add your own if you need to.
1. Concealability
2. Reliability
3. Capacity
4. Ease of use

Beyond that it's probably some bullshit.

1. Concealability - I'm 5'9", a heavy 160 lbs at the height of this year's bulk, and conceal it so well at 5 o clock that no one has ever once mentioned it and I basically always wear just a size medium t-shirt. I only don't wear it if I know they're going to search me on entrance. It's barely bigger than my 6 stack G43 which brings me to...
2. Reliability - something like 400+ Hornady Critical Defense rounds over about 2 years of being carried and not fired in anger and not even a hint of an issue. Works 100% any time I dump the two mags I carry at the range.
3. Capacity - 14+1. That means with one spare mag I have 29 rounds on me counting the extra mag in my pocket. Yeah, that should do.
4. The half cock decocker is actually relevant. No concerns about actuating a safety or doing anything other than drawing and pulling the trigger. I carry it all the time and I slam into shit with it a lot sitting down and doing whatever (StealthGear holster so I basically forget about it) and it just sits there in half cock and doesn't give a fuck. Half cock is a very safe mode of carry with no complications or training requirements. Also drop safety because 2017.

Are there better CCWs? Why? To be fair I do have aftermarket mags with a flat base from ye olde Greg Cote and CZ wood grips and HB grip screws since I have some class but otherwise perfect out of the box.

Is this The One for concealed carry? If you post about tool marks or finish omg, really now. At least say what gun beats it if you bash it. I am actually still looking for best fun.

I own one, love it, fantastic gun but it isn't the ultimate carry pistol because its a bit heavy fully loaded.
10/10 would decock again though

Will the tiny tiny amount of crookedness of the front sight posts cause any issues?

Probably not as long as the position of the sight is correct.

Grab it with a crescent wrench or something and gently and turn it correct. It only has a little post and nut holding it on and you cant screw it down to tight or it will strip.

AR malfunction question/ general AR thread

I built an AR that paired a 20in upper and a carbine buffer tube and spring. everything else is pretty standard. Now for the problem:
The weapon loads, fires, a cycles a new round. trigger sounds like it resets. but, the second round wont fire. i have to pull the charging handle just enough to do a brass check, the trigger sets again, and then it will fire. does so reliably.
help?

Sounds like something is wrong with your disconnector.
>>
>>33110036
you fucked up something in the fcg springs are installed backwards or you disconnectors borken/out of spec
>>
my guess is whatever spring you used for the disconnector is too strong. if it is too weak you can get a double-fire, so i think too strong would cause half-cock situation

They used to be super cheap .30-cal rifle with super-cheap ammunition. After the SKS and 7.62x39 prices started to rise poor /k/ommandos turned to the nugget for their plinking needs. Now the supply is drying up they're not much cheaper than a modern bolt-action rifle which is vastly superior.
>>
>>33109851
all you really need to know is that they work. they used to be good investments when you could snag a 91/30 for under a hundred but that is no longer the case. if you cant find one in decent condition with matching parts and all accessories for under 150, don't bother and get a mauser or go modern instead.
>>
In and of themselves, there's nothing all that special about them. They became a memegun because for a few years, they could be had dirt cheap because the Russians and Ukrainians were cleaning out their old supplies of them. A bunch of people bought them when $75-100 was the going price, which meant that lots of NEETs and poorfags were able to get their hands on them, which is why they became a thing on the chans. That changed when two things happened just about simultaneously: supplies of ones in decent condition started to dry up, and President Obongo signed an Executive Order banning imports of milsurp rifles from Russia. These days, the going price for one that's not totally trashed these days will be about $250, plus or minus a little. As a rifle, they're okay - not great, not horrible - but these days for the same price or less you can get a way nicer bolt-action milsurp - Turkish/Spanish Mausers, or a no-crest Arisaka, for example. That said, they now have a certain cachet as a memegun, and if you like them because you want to be /k/ool (and there's nothing wrong with that), then go ahead and get one.

Anyone know of a real life gun with a similar look to the silenced magnum from halo 3 odst (pic related)? I recently replayed it and fell in love with it all over again.

From my understanding its like a Desert Eagle (and in fact is also chambered in a caliber very similar to the .50 action express).

The desert eagle doesnt look like it, but its a similar weapon in principal.
