Hey guys, is there any tricks or advices when creating robot-like characters?
I'm trying to create some, but when I'm doing it, they all look the same with minor differences.
How to be creative and original when trying to draw something like this?
>>2657829
Visual library. It's not all that diffrent from drawing different human characters, you just have a different and more varied "anatomy" to consider. Copy robot designs you like and also study industrial machinery.
>>2657829
Try to look at Pinterest.
It has lots of pictures you can use for inspiration, and may have some useful tutorials.
Remember: Flat metal pannels are almost unused on actual robotic design.
Take a look at a bulldozer or a car.
It has more things than only metal: Plastic for the tires, glass, lights... And it's not a single piece of metal. It has many smaller pieces with smaller details.
Hey guys i've been analyzing some cartoon abckgrounds and trying to figure out where the vanishing points on them are.
But for some reason no matter how far i draw the lines, it seems like all the bgs in the show don't even have on clear vanishing point, they just head in a similar direction but dont reall ever meet.
Am i missing something?

Yes, you are expecting mathematical precision from a drawing that has none.
Practice on photos.
I'll give someone two bucks (a toonie) if you can turn this little drawing of mine into a seizure inducing gif

When is it the best time to post on social media for artists?
when you're a decent artist
when the moon is in the seventh house and jupiter aligns with mars

Depends on your follower base, Unless you have a huge amount.
If you have an average number then the best time to post is when most of the are online.
Helps generate a high start to your picture getting it up the top with instagram/facebook shitty algorithm.
Hey twitch streamers, post your art streams. Lets get a follow circle jerk started. Here is mine:

Bro you're simply amazing! Ty
At which point do you think using references is not ok anymore? I'm not talking about practice, but using references for actual work.
For example, would it be ok to constantly use references but turning them into your own style/add some imagination to it? Or is using references only ok, if you use it rarely or to the point where you hardly can recognize the reference anymore?
>>2663730
Nigga even James Gurney uses reference. Your work is going to suffer if you don't, simple as that. I've even seen Kim Jung Gi use reference for guns when drawing his comic books. Don't be retarded.
It also depends on how you use reference. If you mean Irakli tier, then yeah, that's definitiely not okay - his work is entirely dependent upon the works of skilled photographers. But if Irakli came up with his own pose, anatomy and lighting and only used indirect reference I wouldn't have any problems with his work.
I urge you to see James Gurney's vid on how he paints dinosaurs. He shows you quite a bit on how you can use reference and previous studies in your finished work.

>Don't be retarded.
I never even questioned using references, dumbass. Of course it is ok to use references, but to which point is the question.
>if Irakli came up with his own pose, anatomy and lighting
So in other words if he didn't use any reference at all... Great! Drawing pose, anatomy and lighting are the main reasons why people use references, dumbass. Otherwise you could just look at your own body draw pictures from that.

>So in other words if he didn't use any reference at all... Great!
No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that you should have maximum creative freedom and you can't have that if you rely on photographs to create poses and compositions. If you were commissioned to draw Deadpool fighting a dozen of backflipping ninjas with swords in a japanese pine tree forest obviously it wouldn't be practical to need a perfect reference photo for each individual in a dynamic composition.
I don't remember who, but a famous fantasy illustrator said in an interview to always sketch from imagination first before bringing in reference and I think that's a good rule of thumb. I'm by no means a KJG but at a point where I can comfortably draw the human body in most positions in decent perspective (inb4 post work) and it would actually take me MORE time if I would dig up reference first. I do use reference for certain details though and to make some adjustments in anatomy if needed. I also use 3d sometimes to create my own reference for lighting. Complex cast shadows are very difficult/impractical to invent. James Gurney uses crude clay maquettes for light reference and the 3d stuff is my interpretation of that method.
I often snap pics of myself in the mirror when I want to figure out certain details aswell.

I just started drawing furry fetish porn a few weeks ago. Opened commissions a week ago and finished 2 so far. Made $80. Recently got a $65 commission I'll be starting later.
I'll be raising prices once I start getting more people interested and once i get over 250 followers which will probably be in another week or two at the rate things are going.
BTW I'm drawing literally everything and anything, first commission was fart related. Take that as you will but I'm only doing this for a few months and need money badly. I'm also working on furry stuff about 3-4 hours every day and doing another 2-3 hours on studies/real art.
I'm only posting to furaffinity and I've been doing nightly streams on picarto recently. It's been going well overall, I prefer payment upfront and most everyone's been pleasant to work with.
Looking for a guest artist for my shit webcomic. Price is negotiable but I'm looking for quality so I'm not going to skimp on it. I need someone that's good with drawing animals, tigers specifically i guess. Post your work and website or email or something if you're interested.
pic semi related. Not my work obv, just an example of a comic book tiger.
post your webcomic

Hey, I wouldn't say I'm a professional but I'm a good cg dude alright, currently working with a bud on a cs:go map (I'm his enviroment artist and he is the level designer), we both got great amount of experience and I just wanna say don't use brushes for shit like that, you need models.

ITT: discussions about payment and the rules.
my dilemma is that at the start of a project i agreed to the price of 50 AUD per page (i know im cheap) of coloring for a small comic book company with a total of 12 issues each with 32 pages.
but i just got paid for the first issue and the guy paid me with USD instead...
whilst in writing it clearly states that we agree upon 50 AUD...
basically i was supposed to get paid 1600 AUD but i received 2113 AUD.
what would loomis do?
can i get in trouble legally if i dont point it out to them?
>>2662766
Honestly, do the right thing. You don't want to come off as a shifty jew if they find out.
It can give you a quick buck but long term pointing out that they made a mistake will make you look like a class act and may even earn you a bonus and ensure future gigs. Speaking from experience here.
>>2662771
>shifty jew
Thats kinda funny, because the client is a Jew.
still.
I'm kinda thinking to do what you recommend.
>>2662775
agree with the other anon, ESPECIALLY with long term projects
Do you guys know of any other artwork like this? I really like kinorinsamas style
plz help

Sadly not really but I dig this. Haruko Kumota does have similar lines imo. But she draws BL mostly if you're not into that.
