I have this blank canvas thats been sitting in my room for about a year.
I rarely have time/motivation to paint due to work/travrl.
Im going to hang it up on my room so I was looking for some ideas on what to paint.
I was going to draw some depressing/spooky stuff but realized thats probably not healthy to look at every day.
Something positive or cute I guess.
I specialize on bara/masculine stuff but cant paint nude due to living with family
Help.

How do I get better at hands ?
I tried to learn with the Loomis's draing hands and heads, but I don't know, it's not helping at all. It's just an explanation on how the hand work without explaining much how to construct it.
How do I get the angle right, the position and so on...
Any advice or explanation ? Using my hand at refrence isn't helping much because I need a process like how to construct the head.
pic non related but i like it

Agree with this, Bridgman helped me the most with hands
What does /ic/ think about the art of Steve here?
http://mfstevehere.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=/
Almost as fucked up as the real Nakamura's face.
Super long shot, but here it goes. A while ago there was a thread on some anime artists drawing of someone playing baseball or some shit - really impressive gesture, fluid like water. Anyone know his name or have the picture? I never saved it.

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The site is currently in the alpha phase of development and is being built around us as we compete so sometimes things go wrong. If you ever need any help send me a tweet @LavaFlake or shoot me an email [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

Is all fine art just an imitation of what the old masters already accomplished thousands of years ago?
No.
>>2665767
But the Old masters from the Renaissance copied the Greeks, and we're just copying the old masters

>Steve Huston doing a workshop in your area
>tfw you have work on all of the days its going to happen
Hes probably just going to teach the same shit he does on NMA, r-right?
no anon he's gonna teach the secret thing you need to learn to get good!
>>2661866
Youd be getting critique and 1 on 1 help from a succesful artist instead of some merc_wip poster on /ic/
>>2661861
No, his workshop is gonna be 200 times better.
>mfw had a workshop the week I go unemployed
>couldn't take it
>proceeds to stab self
Very bad construction, shit perspective, no sense of design. The worst I have seen in my career.
Solution: Getting good, at least fzd mode
How it will happen:
You will start by going to the studio every 4-5 days of the week grinding fundamentals. You will find programs on the internet for begginers, and you will start working on:
Perspective
Edges
Construction
Composition
All days must include a small but effective gesture workout.
Then comes diet: You will find one on the internet. It must be balanced (carbs/protein/fats) for your age/bodyweight. Check it up on the internet too. You must never skip meals. You must eat allot of meat and carbs to bulk. You must eat no junkfood/useless carbs like cake, burgers and fried chicken (you guys can, they can be plentiful in carbs and fat, and protein-talking bout fried chicken.)
Supplements:
Protein Whey Isolate
Amino Acids
Multivitamins
Creatine
Pre-Workout Formula for increased focus and energy
You will find how to take each in bodybuilding forums.
You will choose your goals.
You will choose an idol.
You will start changing (you will start liking more agressive music, your libido will increase, you will become in time more manly).
You will start getting better at it.
You will become a good artist.
You will win.
>>2663536
Talking about music, it's what keeps my adhd in check while drawing. I may feel tired, burned, but then I go looking for some awesome art and start hearing some songs and I feel like a slayer with lust for the paper, and that there's now way I I won't improve. The Gundam 00 OST in particular gives me some serious kicks.
I liked your post, but...
>you will start liking more agressive music, your libido will increase, you will become in time more manly
being horny and masculine has nothing to do with having a sensitive and creative mind (and you'll need that to become a great artist)

Can we have a thread for anons studying on NMA right now?
Whos videos are worth looking into? Ive only seen Vilppu and Houston's stuff so far.
I just cancelled my renewal since I'm finished with the perspective stuff and there's not much else I want to do right now.
>>2658278
How did it go, anon?
Olsons class is fucking intimidating, what is it, like a whole month's worth of videos?
>>2658248
Did he just draw with a milky way
Why don't guys get into much of Dore, his art is basically figure porn, am I missing out something?
>>2665868
Everyone likes Dore, so there's not much meme potential.
Just because an artist isn't spammed does not mean no one likes them.
I don't know what to do. Sure I can buy 20 canvases and build up a new narrative, sketch every day and get a diary going. But it's always the same problem, parts of the art world are aware of me but they never want to launch me. All the heat I can manufacture is always wasted. Which seems counter-productive. Why would they not want the thing they say they like?
Your art is shit.
That's why they don't want to launch you. They say they like your art, because that's what nice, polite people do.
Git gud.
>>2665048
Post art.
your autism and autism-derived narcissism are fooling you into believing people actually care about your shit art
