Hey /ic/, /tg/ here. My wife does a lot of art where she does realism. Draws a lot of celebrities. I'm not an artist at all and don't know anything about drawing.
I need to get her a present and I want to get her something that will help her draw better. I'm gonna post some of her stuff. Let me know what you think/what I can get her. Thanks /ic/
Post your score, Anon.

Will I make it /ic/?
I'm gonna make it, right?

>>2666122
is that supposed to be finished? looks like some wip that krenz would post.
pic related.
>>2666124
I noticed that too, he seems have influences from Krenz and Wlop, it is so bad?
>>2666124
is it weird that I like the wip of this one more than the finished version?
Why do Americans seem to have much more respect for stop motion animation than for traditional 2d animation?
"so much time and patience must have gone into to moving those little figurines!"
at the end of the day, it looks better.
talking out of your ass again, do you OP? stop with the generalization.
Laika is doing very good work indeed, but can you confirm your statement by naming other big production studios?
also, eastern europe and the former soviet union were pioneers when it comes to stop motion.
look at works from jan svankmajer, jiří trnka and ladislas starevich

I'm not saying they're not doing good work, and I believe they work very hard. what I mean is that it seems that Americans need an excuse or gimmick to appreciate time grueling animation. good hand drawn animation can be just as tedious if not more so, but you never hear anything about it cause either people dont understand what goes into 2d animation or they simply dont care
you can do it anon, as long you put effort and disipline, here is a little advice:
- if you dont know what to draw or do, make a daily challengue list something simple like ex: do 3 quick poses sketches this has help me a lot and go on with my projects so anon don`t give up.

"motivational" shit is always dumb
Can you guys recommend a good figure drawing/anatomy video set that isn't Proko/Vilppu. Proko is cringeworthy as fuck and I'm learning to draw, not go to fucking medical school, and you can't understand mr. "feel the movement" at all.
Christian Nacorda, Ron Lemen, or Rey Bustos
>Proko is cringeworthy as fuck
So read the articles instead of watching the videos.
>I'm learning to draw, not go to fucking medical school
Destined to suck forever with that attitude.

Riven Pheonix - The Structure of Man, highly recommend on /ic/ as the definitive source.
Sup lads, /fit/ here
Is there any demand for muscular male models for art classes n shit, and are there specific preferences for certain types of aesthetic?
It's really anybody who's comfortable with their own body. I've been to a couple life drawing sessions and it ranges from skinny to fat to muscular (of all ages). If you're aesthetic, it's not a preference, but I guess more girls will want to come or some shit.
/ic/ can always use more references. We are in demand for a model. If you don't mind taking requests that is.
>>2667030
Yeah, but they have to be aesthetically pleasing. Not a fucking manlet like your picture lmao
Please critique my work tell me what I can improve on and what techniques I can use in the future.
If you wanna see more of my work go to http://wolfofhorror.deviantart.com
That's Hugh mess you made thier.
Quit it.
>>2666441
You messed up on the very foundation of your drawing. For now, work on symmetry and proportion.
>>2666441
Loomis & read the beginner sticky
Youre wasting time on rendering when the drawing is super off.
Made an impulse purchase during the indiegogo campaign for the stickybones and now I'm kind of regretting my choice after researching the body kun a bit.
Does anyone have any experience with the body kun or an argument as to why one would be better than the other?
((disclaimer: I know mannequins aren't a replacement for actual anatomical studies/figure drawing but they're useful for reference and idea generation.))
>>2665697
Why are you regretting stickybones?
As for bodykun, it can't hug its knees by default but if you rotate the abdomen piece 180, then it can curl up all the way.
Also, the knees and elbows aren't double jointed, so they can't curl in all the way either.
It's passable, but curling joints in all the way seems to be a very niche purpose that your anatomical knowledge should be able to fill in imho.
>>2665756
I'm mostly regretting it because the hands and feet seem out of proportion, and unlike the bodykun, which is targeted towards "artists" in terms of anatomical correctness/range of motion etc., the stickybones to be mostly targeted towards stop motion animators.
The bodykun DX also has props and a "fly rig" or whatever it's called, all for about half the price(~$35) I paid for the stickybones ($79). The stickybones fly rig is priced at $32.
Looking at the bodykun I also like how there's musculature and it seems more proportioned overall. The stickybones does have more flexibility but the bodykun's more limited range is marketed as being more human which could be bullshit for all I know.
>>2665784
>the bodykun's more limited range is marketed as being more human which could be bullshit for all I know.
It is.
The stickybones is a didactic toy. The bodykun is a premium figma.
Im in art school and I have to do a filmed art performance. You guys have any good ideas, it needs to be very edgy
Here's an edgy idea.
Drop out of school, get a job, marry a woman, raise a happy family, and teach your kids never to go to an art 'school' that would coerce you into making a fool of yourself in front of a camera for their amusement.
>>2663375
Your stuck in the past looser
>>2663386
I'd rather be stuck in the past than stuck in debt or the unemployment line like you're going to be, my man.
>tfw your style alternates between weebshit and Disney style sporadically
make it stop...
Tumblr: The Post
git gud and learn how to draw realistically before you start stylizing everything you piece of shit.
2 hours for him to say that personal experience changes your interpretation of art?
really? i hope art history gets better than this
>>2667467
is this john berger?
Is art school worth the money?
no.
>>2665699
/thread
Use that money on books and life drawing classes.
>>2665699
>Go to art school (community college)
>teacher refuses to show the class his work
>I've mad a huge mistake
That being said, it's a gamble because you don't know who's going to end up teaching you. I got really lucky one semester and got a very experienced life drawing teacher. He was always walking around the class critiquing, instructing and giving tips. If you can find a way to go for free using financial aid or something then go for it.
Hello everyone.
I've been wanting to learn how to tattoo and was wondering if anyone had any tips? I just recently got back into drawing after years of stopping. Here's a couple of my drawing so far that I've done throughout the past 7 months that I've been practicing again. I would love to do portraits on people and what not. If anyone has any tips on tattoing or in drawing in general I would appreciate them. Ty
>>2667285
Tattoo artists usually start out with an apprenticeship. Since you seem to know the basics, I think you have a good starting point. I'd start drawing and branching out into other designs (take a look at shops near yu and their artist's portfolios, get an idea of what kind of work they do generally, and decide what style of tattoo you want to do).
While some of the artists on this show suck, it's how I learned about tattooing and different styles of tattoo, so check out Inkmaster (it's a "reality" show like Project Runway but for tattoo artists. It's kinda cool, I enjoy it, but sometimes the artists are a bit insufferable).
And look around your area for an apprenticeship.
Daily Reminder that you're gonna make it. The power is yours!
>>2666907
T-thanks captain. Can anyone cite /ic/ artists who were able to make it?

Then why did you give me the power of heart?
