You messed up on the very foundation of your drawing. For now, work on symmetry and proportion.

Loomis & read the beginner sticky
Youre wasting time on rendering when the drawing is super off.
It's a superb drawing. He's done distortion on a purpose, to exaggerate the man's expression and create a dynamic form. It tricks the eye pretty well because it's so skillfully rendered - despite the immense distortion in anatomy - I don't see much wrong with it. It's a matter of style.
Someone manipulate a real life picture of Hugh to look like that art.

Could someone explain why on the original, even though it is not very good, I could still figure out it was hugh jackman but once its reversed its literally unrecognizable?
Does the artist's perception when he's drawing mistakes also apply to the spectator brain? Or did I just get used to the original really fast ?

Because faces and expressions are assymetrical. Without having studied his face I bet he tends not to raise his other eyebrow as much

I think it might have something to do with 90 percent of people being right handed so we have similar distortions in how we draw and perceive things.
