What gives medieval paintings their flat look?
>>2803658
People literally hadn't invented perspective yet
>>2803660
They didn't understand it? I bet there were paintings with perspective, but none of those illustrations made it our century simply because there were fewer of them.

Looking for advice, are there are other redpilled d/ic/ks that want to get into animation or film but have hesitations about the industry itself?
California specifically is a fucking madhouse, yet due to the massive monopoly it has on media production, you have to live there to work in a studio like Cartoon Network, Disney, etc.
Before the election I wanted to move there and make shit happen, it's always been my life goal, but now that I understand that pretty much everyone there is mentally and politically enslaved and/or brainwashed, I'm not entirely sure what to do.
stop reading /pol/
>>2803470
Stop it. We have a Tumblr bait thread going on, too.
Anyways.
>Jewish are more succesful than me, but why? I furiously masturbate and shitpost all day. I deserve success, too! Fucking opression!
Please focus your energy into drawing. That is what this board is about.
None of this is important. You are misspending your time.
This is my 10th drawing attempt on stuff and my 1st on dragons... How is it?

>Didn't sign his name.
I see great potential in you.
I know the quality of the image is bad... Sorry
Do you need to be a painter in the art world or can you still produce fine art that isn't manually painted?
I know photography is still sold in fine art shit as prints.
But my goal is to study software engineering and develop illustrations using coding, using the computer as a tool.
how viable is this plan?
At this current stage, your work in illustration will be severely hampered by the limits of your program. Right now, neural networks in image creation are still in their infancy and don't offer the same level of freedom as constructing objects from 3d models or drawing on paper/ tablet.
So your current plan is very risky. You might see yourself in research and development first developing your program if you chose to use original programs
I'm curious, why do you wish to have a computer do it for you? Are you not interested in creating art yourself? Would you if you could?
If you managed to create a program that was able to make decent paintings, would your pride/satisfaction come from the program you created, and not really the art?
>>2800912
dunno, there's literal crap being sold on laundering schemes.
art is literally a laundering scheme for rich dudes.
>>2800917
I'm playing it safe.
even while I can still draw nice, I dont have the motivation nor the will force to grind.
plus is a safer bet, I could still work as programmer if everything fails.
What are some games with great art, /ic/?
THE GAME
>>2800775
are you the same guy who just made a thread about anime art?
>>2800775
Metal Gear Solid saga
Grim Fandango
Alice: Madness returns
First three that came to mind
Do you enjoy drawing, /ic/? Is it something that you have fun doing?
i enjoy drawing, but i'd still rather be playing vidya.
I feel like the better i get, the more fun it becomes.
>>2795807
Yes. It can be frustrating at times but yeah I love it.
I really like the way that stick figure is drawn
I keep seeing this ad for "iSKN" which is apparently a tablet that digitizes your drawings on paper, using magnetic rings that you fit onto a pen or pencil. So it puts your traditional sketches directly onto the computer or something.
As someone who prefers traditional sketching with pencil and ballpoint I would love something like this but the technology is probably still primitive.
Has anyone tried this and is it worth it?
http://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2016/10/27/13434636/iskn-slate-review-digitize-paper-drawings-magnetic-ring
Or you could buy a scanner for like 50 bucks rather than be a guniea pig and have to adjust to yet another piece of technology. If you like traditional sketching, stick to doing it traditionally.

Are Finecolours reall good like Copics? Because they are extremelly cheap.
Can you refill them with Copic ink?
No and no.
>>2803084
is this supposed to be marge simpson with her hair down?
Obviously not as good.
But it doesn't matter, you could achieve amazing coloring even with chinese bootleg markers.
People need to dispell this notion that the tool makes the artist.
iss it possible to get gud purely through digital?
no pencil no sketchbook?
>>2803074
its about how you study not about what you use as a tool

Has your portfolio ever been rejected from a job commission? Reason? What did you do about it?
