Yes happens all the time.
You buckle up and move on to the next one. Rejection is common, more often than not it is just a case of the art you do not being suitable for the project, nothing personal.

I always hope in the reason being given advice/criticism on how to improve what is wrong etc. but instead only neutral phrases or nothing so it difficult to improve.
I got rejected 20-30times already :(, and when not rejected it was scam. Kinda feel like nobody wants to pay me for doing art.. oh well
The rejects were ignores though
