So my friend is an animator and I love his artwork that he does, and he just finally posted an animation after taking a while off and I was wondering if you guys could show him some love

Just admit it's you, OP
you won't get a single view from /ic/ making your own threads btw. post in the animation thread like everyone else
what changes would you make to this guy to make him better?
I like the way he looks but i'm not an artist.

Maybe just a few edits to the anatomy, more like pic related
How do I practice form efficiently?
I keep thinking in lines and shapes
I want my drawings to look 3D
>>2972707
Fun with a pencil > Drawabox > Dynamic sketching/Dynamic Bible > papa Vilppu
In this order. Feel the form. It's almost a meme saying but once it starts to click you'll feel like everything you've drawn till that point has been just a dream.
Go to sketch daily or whatever you use for references, then, instead of drawing the reference as you see it draw it turned in a bunch of different directions.

it's funny when you see bouguereau paintings online, because they kinda suck irl, they look like massive insipid posters
Hey /ic/ I'm a new to drawing these are the first two drawings I've done in three years. I have a total of like 6 drawings in my uh drawing lifespan over 7 years, I can share them I really don't have that many drawings but I can see progress everytime I draw even though I only do it like once a year.
I could post if you guys want, I really don't have that much art, I seldom draw because I have no patience.
Question: Is it hard to become a digital artist if I start on paper like this?
Can I have some CC and feedback.
IMAGE 1/2
IMAGE 2/2
notes on image 1:
I used some white gelpen poorly which I regret
I rushed the hair as I never learnt to really draw hair
notes on image 2:
improved my hair technique I practiced it in like a box if you wanna see
I don't like my shading technique and i got lazy with the left side of the face
I think on my next piece I will improve lips next then move onto form. If I could get feedback on how to progress that'd be cool.
reduce your images to maximum 1000 px and post in beginner thread
hey, new poster here
wanted to share a ballpoint sketch of Freddy Krueger that I did
Did you trace this?
Nvm I think I found the reference
its not as shocking as the source and it primarily has to do with the fact that he isn't looking at the viewer. The easiest way to make an impact is eye contact. When I look at the eyes in your sketch, freddy doesn't look like a scary demon out for revenge,he looks like a thirsty post-op burn victim who's eyeing the bottle of water in my hands.
Also it might just be me but that tounge is too small.
The details on the sweater's collar and cuffs, as well as on the brim of the hat, are nice touches but it doean't save whats going on with the face.
TLDR;The eyes and tounge make your sketch look a bit silly, not scary.

A stencil of sorts. Is he licking the blood off the blade?
Is this worth 10 dollar?
I want a discussion, not just "No/yes"
>>2972584
No because it's shitty fanart.
If all your work is this quality and you work for this price, we should talk.
>>2972584
Clearly a lot of time went into it, so I'd say more than that.
rate it, crit it, suggest
>>2975035
>suggest
I suggest you post in /beg/ where it belongs
>>2975037
good one, Brad!

Didn't see one on the catalog; let's get a new one up.
Post your art gains, d/ic/ks. I have some images I've saved to start off the thread.

somebody just pasted bobby and hank's heads into that gay pedo manga
>>2974199

Is drawing upside down a meme?
Depends what you mean, it gets you into doing what its supposed to do, and that's drawing what you're seeing instead of drawing what you're thinking.
>>2972704
That's not how you grip a pistol.
>>2972754
Not OP but should you continue to copy pictures upside down until you can copy things just as accurately right side up? Or without reverting to symbol drawing or however you'd put it.
15 Years...
>>2972674
Impressive improvement. Good on him for keeping at it through the hard ships for 15 years. Most people would probably give up a year in.
>>2972674
lol I was just looking at at artwork and thinkingabout what kind of sad person this would be who improved so little after 15 years. Then I looked at the side and saw "Jazza" with his fucking family guy icon.
>>2972674
I was thinking about skimping on my fundies today but thanks /ic/ for the walk up call.
are webcomics the lowest form of art?
>>2971812
I want to argue that they aren't but after seeing this I don't think I could give any possible justification as to why I have that opinion.
