Hey guys, been doing some designs and draws like this one (my latest), to later become a tattooer.. Do any of you enjoy these draws/designs like me? Post more like this if you like :)
(If anyone is interested, I can post my other ones)

I would recommend you work on focus, perspective and illumination. In simple, make the important parts stand out. To me, the triangle design is the centre focus, but that is likely not intended.

Post more. I recognise the art: I'm pretty sure I might know you irl.

Hei! (I'm not sure is this the right board...)
Does somebody know a site (or just a pic(s) ) with typography? Like from an era of great typography, interpret how you will but it's not from the year 2000->...
When I googled i only found skanky deviant art/newschool advertisement/digital shit aesthetics
Thanks! :)

"A Boy and his Cat at the Ocean on a Cloudy Day"
Oil on canvas, painted with fingers.

I painted this piece in about five hours without really any direction of what I wanted to do. I just continuously mixed colors that seemed right and then used them until the whole work came together. I'm not a visual artist and I spend most of my time writing or browsing over at /lit/, but I thought I would try my hand at painting something abstract and avant garde.

Aside from critiquing my work above, which I appreciate, what is your creative process? Do you map everything to the tiniest detail? Do you just freefall and see where it takes you?

honestly, it looks like a kindergartner' art project. i'm not sure if that's what you were going for or not.

>five hours
how? A talented 5 years old could achieve similar results in about an hour

This must be a troll.

How do you study? What is your schedule like? How did you begin and how have your habits and schedule changed? What art-related media do you like to consume? Post regimens and plans, let's be efficient y'all.

Look at a ton of art for that one aspect I'm trying to figure out then look up tutorials to get some idea on how other people have solved it. Then I get drawing and replicating the same aspect with my own hands.

Practically hikkimori. But up near noon and sleep at like two.

Beginning point? I'm not sure which that refers to but I'll mark it as when I was thinking about how to get better at art. I remembered there was a board for art and that there's a sticky, so I read it and then wondered who Feng Zhu was. Read the conceptart thread and learned about fundamentals. Watched his video of before and after, realize that there's someone out there who gets art that isn't fine art. Also learned how to get from point A to point B. I fell for all the memes of /ic/, gestures, boxes, loomis, etc. I don't do that stuff anymore and just draw whatever I want.

Anime, manga, traditional art, any of the good stuff.

Just what I put down for studying.

whats the best city to live in and simply work on your skills???

I want to live in a city for a few months/year where i can focus on developing my art (traditional drawing/painting).

it is essential that the city has a very low cost of living, and i only speak english (unfortunately) so im limited in this sense.

...cities/countries that interest me are Kiev, China, st. petersburg, italy, spain, mexico, belgrade, bucharest... to list a few....

...cities/countries I'm NOT interested in are Berlin, france, London, USA... too expensive/pretentious...

I am wondering if anyone knows of other city/countries which might be what im looking for?

I already have some chops but i want to be in a rich environment and potentially connect with other artists, galleries and sell my work to buy me some time, even if its just to tourists...

Furthermore, things i like:
-cheap rent
-cheap/good food
-old architecture
-warm weather
-women
-people who will understand english
-water i can swim in

...any ideas would be appreciated!

What is the LATEST age you can possibly start drawing if you want to make it?

My wager is 6 years old. If you start any later, you're fucked.

Your question is badly formulated, It should be; when is it to late to make it?

Mozart could play several instruments for public performance at the age of six. He made it. If you don't make it by the age of six you're with high probability never gonna make it.

Framed Ink, Perspective Made Easy and Michael Hampton are the only two books on this meme list that I'd say are essential. Force and Color & Light are good. Scott Robertson's books are overly technical and very dense for a beginner to follow, do not recommend them particularly highly considering he explains everything better in the gnomon DVD. Loomis is a meme and you're better off with Hampton, Hogarth, Bammes and Bridgman. Not even sure why Skillful Hunstman is on there, it's an OK artbook but definitely non-essential. Overall a 4/10 list.

what are we aiming for figures focus or industrial vehicles focus?
>then make a list of the things you are not good at and want to learn and get to it
that isn't a last step that is something you do at every step

Stop falling for the memes.
