Do you guys get really anxious when a package is supposed to arrive? I ordered some vacuum tubes and some capacitors and both packages are coming today and every time I hear any noise outside at all I check the mail. Help me /g/
Yeah that's pretty normal
>>61967717
of course
What else are neets supposed to do?
If my phone contract allows only 500mb of internet per month but free unlimited whatsapp usage is it possible to set something on a home server to pretend to be whatsapp so I can get unlimited internet?
No because everything would need to be passed through whatsapp servers and they only allow a minimal kind of files to be sent.
>>61967695
Yes. IP over WhatsApp. You just have to make it look like regular talk. Look up steganography.
>>61967727
>you can't send text over whatsapp
ok

Not those of us not working embeded.
The memory and computation limitations are a thing of the past. Only diehard C retards will not use managed memory.

Literally who since 2004.
Do you have your PC assembled in pcpartpicker? If so you should share it in this thread.

Small virtualization lab for home. Considering Open Nebula because I was recently exposed to it at work and I kinda like it. Accepting critiques and insults.

I'm gonna make video-streaming website(like crunchyroll but free) that plays anime. Is there any open source project for this?
Fuck off KODI

Free as in freedom, as you might know
Can't you write your own project? Have you even made any calculations how much the bandwith will cost you?
This board is probably for more technical things, but I was hoping you guys could help me out. I'm looking for a windows laptop to buy and I don't know which one is really good for the price, meaning the best laptop specs-wise for $1000 or under.
>>61967319
Specs wise? Acer
Any specific laptop in mind?
>>61967386
What site can you order from? Country?
What usage, games, office, design, photo editing?
Is /g/ aware of Replika? It's a learning AI that learns only from you(unlike cleverbot, for example). It has features such as downvote answer and "wrong answer" so you can manipulate it easier. The more you talk to her, the more she levels up and the smarter she gets.
Unfortunately, they require either that you give them your full info and wait ~24 hours for a code or to get a code from someone else.
Feel free to share codes in the thread so more people can try it.

I'm a long time gnu/linux user and tried w10 ltsb. As a programmer i wanted to do something that only possible on windows rig, so i started gaymi... i mean .net "development", so i installed vs 2017 gommunity of botnet edition. Downloaded a c# pdf from gentoo lib and started do stuff for hours. As a gentooman i never switch off my thinkpad, so i gone to a dinner. After a half hour the only thing i saw is the error message of "no boot device" or alike bs. There is no better sign to screw this crap from my system than this. Literally did nothing but running the botnet and a POS ide of ms shitself and a pdf reader.
>so this is the power of wangblows 10?
I see no reason to use windows 10 for anything as it's slow and unstable even the glorified ltsb is garbage too. What the actual fuck...
>>61967179
why not chill out and admit you fucked your bootloader?
just install refind.
>>61967225
The bootloader was ok.
>>61967179
Yeah. Windows is surprisingly slow. As someone who only exclusively started using GNU last year I couldn't not rage while using win10 on my friend's PC.
how do Sony have such consistently good design and style?
>>61966920
They are kawaii as fuck
>>61966920
It may be because they can be considered a premium brand, therefore caring about design? Just a hunch

Well. I really love linux mint cinnamon. But well alot of people tell me to use ubuntu(Or kubuntu/xubuntu if i dont like unity) instead of linux mint. But Unity, KDE or XFCE doesent appeal to me as much as cinnamon.
So i have question. Will installing cinnamon on ubuntu will negatively affect on ubuntu in functionality or stability? Will be bad to use stuff like ubuntu builder or ubuntu customization kit to make my own Ubuntu cinnamon Iso?
>>61966819
Just stick with cinnamon mint.
You can install Cinnamon through the repos. You don't have to worry about it
>>61966819
Mint is pretty much Ubuntu. So there's no reason to go with Ubuntu Cinnamon. Plus, the devs of Mint are devs of Cinnamon. So you'll always have a better Cinnamon experience there.

Call me when you can just run an exe and have full gui, online subtitles and everything that makes mpc-hc great.

How can anyone take mpv faggots seriously when the software lacks so much?
Call me when you have a decent options menu and mpc-hc no longer works.
